Just completed the GT Academy support and submitted the update to Apple!

It's so nice to be able to be in time catch the majority academy event. Here is a screen shot of the event list with the event on top:

When the new event is selected, all the rounds will appear and this list will automatically become longer each time a round is opened up by PD.

(Nice detail: I discovered that Nissan has published the font of their logo for public use. So I used that to construct the event logo)

Good stuff, I downloaded it recently and was thinking about GT Academy as it be incredibily useful for that, Then saw you've got an Update coming up so happy days! 👍

Thank you for your hard work! I have been using this for a few days. Your efforts are very much appreciated. 👍 👍 👍 👍

It has been submitted on Sunday. Review times currently seem to be 5 working days, so hopefully it is available just before the weekend. You never know with Apple, though :)

Just wanted you to know that the update is still waiting for review. No drama, though. It's just in the review queue waiting until Apple gets to it. I had hoped that it would be reviewed just before the weekend, but apparently not. Hopefully in the next few days..

The update has just been approved. It should be available to everyone in the world within the next few hours as it's being rolled out on the all appstores.

The reviewer was the first person in the world to check out the new batch of academy events since even I haven't been able to see if the app works with these new ones :D
But it works fine. 20 new events, people! Go check it out.

Downloaded the update but can not load the Around Me times or My Friends times. I'm really excited to use this but would like to access those other options.

The Around Me and Friends times should still work. I just checked again and they appear fine.

In the past I did noticed some quirks with the Playstation login site. You could try to login on playstation.com to see if there's a pending license to agree (happens sometimes and prevents you from logging in).

Another option is to clear your password. By making the password field empty, logging in will be skipped. If you then reenter the password, log in will be forced and a message that you have been logged in will appear when you enter a ranking screen. This may help.

A final option is to remove the app and install it again. The app is using a cookie it has received from the GT site. Cookies are maintained by iOS and not by apps. It could be that iOS gives the wrong information to the GT site and will prevent you from logging in. I've seen this happening once.

It could also be a temporary glitch with PD and everything will resolve automatically in a while :)

Thanks just had to sign in again. :)

I just downloaded it buddy. I'll familiarise myself with it and rate it soon.

Edit: I'm really impressed you implemented PSN support. I'm having trouble with it now but I'm not sure if it's just me or something else... at first I couldn't log in. But now I can, and when I click 'around me / friends' nothing comes up, although I have set times and so have my friends.

Great job Calcifer, I have the update now...I notice on the picture featured in GTP news that the events have pictures of the cars/track - they are not on my app, is that because you couldn't get it approved with them in?

Have you tried to refresh the page when you're on the around me or friends page? You can pull the screen to refresh and then the app will fetch new data, Sometimes the GT site returns just an empty list but on retry valid data is returned. This probably has to do with the speed the ranking table is updated. When the GT database that holds all the times is updating itself it may be too busy to give any data. It may be the reason why the around me times are not shown on the GT website.

Correct. I even pulled the app to get a new reviewer since working with the old reviewer went to nowhere. The approval process is notoriously inconsistent: You can be rejected for ever for very minor issues while all sorts of apps that violate the Apple guidelines can be found amongst the top rankings of most downloaded apps. Each app gets the same reviewer for all the updates so many developers simply pull their app and try again from scratch. I will try to get the image banners back in an update, though. It took too many effort to make them to not to try :)

Needs Android.

No it's fine on the iPhone 👍

I'll give it a go, thanks : )

Calcifer, I may have found an edge-case bug. I exited the app while the PSN sign-in alert was displayed. Upon re-opening the app, pressing the buttons which normally prompt the alert no longer worked (I was not re-prompted to enter my PSN credentials, and the "Friends" and "Nearby" lists are empty). Re-starting the app does not rectify the problem, so I'm probably going to have to delete and re-install.

Once again, this is an edge case, but I just wanted to let you know.

Thanks for mentioning this, Jordan. It could be that the login credentials have been reset. Should be easy to get this fixed since it's reproducible.

Also many thanks for the news item. Looks real nice :)

So, doing an additional version will cost a lot of effort. Especially for Android. Because there are so many variations, a lot of support is required to get it working on device X because the manufacturer has decided to change the UI framework for themselves (like HTC Sense, for example) or the screen is extra small like the XPeria Mini. And then there are Android tablets to support. And to test properly, quite a lot of devices would be required as well and I only have one.

So, that's quite a challenge, but I won't rule out anything :)

That's apple mis-information talking right there. You can set what devices to support in the Android manifest. Supporting medium and high res devices will coverg 80% of the Android devices on the market.. Android fragmentation is a myth, iOS is just as bad, and in some ways worse.

Cool video! I never expected to see test ads, btw. Your device is registered as a developer's device? I never see iAds so I wouldn't know.

I haven't got the slightest idea. It's just a jailbroken iPhone 4. Maybe Apple knows something I don't. I clicked on the ad and it states "this confirms that test ads are running correctly". Just some information for ya.

i-phone, 👎. Sheep, all of you are hipster-sheep.

Just kiddin... well, not really.

nice looking app though, well done.
