I'm not sure if this colour changing thing is a bug, but I really like it! It makes obtaining all the UCD cars in all their colours much quicker. I hope it stays this way.
I’m also liking this brief change, but I’d prefer if the colours were changed daily/every 2 days. Having too frequent (beyond daily) colour changes means I’d have to turn on my PS5 really often just to check on the colour without anything else to do in-game.

I feel that next time PD does something like the UCD concept, they can take a page out of the GT PSP system (or some other installment; I’ve forgotten where I saw it already), and make a certain percentage of pre-2000s cars of each manufacturer available for a specific period before rotation into the other batch, with players free to choose which colour they want when they buy the car.

No more color/mileage/price changes (I'm thankful for the last 2; that was playing havoc with my spreadsheet) and no new hostage releases last night, but the UCD's 29-regular-car glitch was a 1-day deal, as it's back to 30 regular-rotation cars, 10 Special Picks (some of which should sell out tonight), and a hot car.

2 more hostages crisis came to an end tonight:

The good thing about the Tuscan Speed is the black interior that comes with the red paint, instead of an awful yellowish interior in some paint options.

That leaves 7 hostages, only 1 of which is only available in the UCD:

  • 2003 BMW M3 (last available in the UCD 7/15-7/20, selling out 7/21)
  • 2009 Audi TTS Coupe (last available in the UCD 7/11-7/17, selling out 7/18)
  • 1992 Porsche 911 Carrera RS (964) (last available 7/11-7/17, selling out 7/18)
  • 2007 BMW M3 (last available in the UCD 7/9-7/16, selling out 7/17)
  • 2002 Dodge Viper GTS (last available in the UCD 7/1-7/9, selling out 7/10)

UCD Hostage Update - Day 98

With the returns of the 1992 Porsche 911 and 2007 BMW M3 last night, we're down to 5 hostages, all of which are also available in Brand Central:
  • 2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia (last...and first...available in the UCD 7/25-8/11, selling out 8/12)
  • 2002 Honda NSX Type R (last available in the UCD 7/11-7/23, selling out 7/24)
  • 2003 BMW M3 (last available in the UCD 7/15-7/20, selling out 7/21)
  • 2009 Audi TTS Coupe (last available in the UCD 7/11-7/17, selling out 7/18)
  • 2002 Dodge Viper GTS (last available in the UCD 7/1-7/9, selling out 7/10)
Also, the 29-regular-car glitch is back, with no replacement for the 1997 BMW M3.

UCD Hostage Update - Day 99

Another hostage is back in the UCD - the Audi TTS Coupe. That leaves 4 hostages (listed above; scratch the 2009 Audi TTS Coupe).

Also, the 29-regular-car glitch continues.

Update after the 10/15-to-10/16 UCD update

Honda ‘02 NSX is up.
Monte Carlo Blue Pearl.

Still don’t understand why they put Brand Central cars in the mix though … you don’t save much.
To compensate for the relative lack of variety in pre 2001 cars. I actually wouldn’t mind if the UCD got a few more slots and started to incorporate cars all the way up to 2019. Even more variety to look at.

Likely because there isn't much variety pre-2001. Plus having BC cars with mileage does help players build a 'realistic' garage if they're into that sort of thing. Now if only there was the opposite. A way to get pre-2001 cars without mileage post-menu book 39. There should be room for all and I never understood why the UCD has to be a barrier to obtain cars pre-2001.

Anyway, I agree with Nielsen though. Wouldn't mind if they expanded the year cut-off threshold, though maybe 2019 is too new. I think 2016 might be a good year to cut off at.

Thus ends the UCD Hostage Crisis after 102 days.
So is any crisis counseling / psychological first aid going to be offered during this aftermath? I really feel like I need to speak to someone about this. 102 days is a long time and the whole thing has been a rollercoaster of emotions. One day you hear that a Porsche 911 has been held at gunpoint and the next day you wonder whether the Dogde Viper has developed Stockholm syndrome. I’ve tried crying, but it doesn’t fix the inherent trauma.

While its finally over, the PTSD is still visible on my prancing Horses.

Meanwhile, the 29-regular-car bug continues even after the mass age-off of last week's Special Picks. With 120 cars eligible for the UCD, there's an impact on how long it takes for a car to return.
