I think one page + an image is about 400 words or so. Two (max three) pages would be splendid I recon.

Ok! Also, my college friend is starting to send back corrections on my first article. He was confused if the oil changes skewed the data. The only car that recieved an oil change was the Corvette 54. We may want to put that in the article instead of "Some cars did require an oil change", because it gives the data more validity.

EDIT- the reason no other cars reqired oil changes is because they were PSP transfers. I thought that would level the Standard/Premium playing field

Alright. I'll take a look at it.

Starting tomorrow my vacation time is officially over, which means I'll be operating somewhat slower than before. Hopefully that won't make much of a difference, I just wanted you to know.
Anyway I thought I'd give you a sample of a draft in the works to prove that I'm making progress with your articles ;)

really looking forward to this, would love to contribute if possible its the one thread i refresh every day to see how its going lol.

Could I by any chance hold the Cheap Supercar Beaters and Classic Car Show for this edition and instead (or aswell as if it isn't being a space hog) put in an exclusive tune or two? I just work on a car, and not release it on the forums, only in the mag? Would only take a quarter of a page up... Up to you mate.

I'd like to have the Cheap supercar beater article in this issue (if you have the time to write it otherwise we'll save it for later), if you can manage to do a tune as well that just extra good :)

Ok. I will do both ;)

Just another idea I had, thought it would b cool to do a one page ad, either advertising a car(s) for sale found in gt5 dealership, or advertising the tuning shop

To fill up space, and add realism we should incorperate "Ads"
No, not paid ads, or ads for "Teams" but GtPlanet events
We could have an ad that advertises the Photomode competitions and its recent winners, to be designed my SlipZtrEm or Shwaney.
Other advertised events could be WRC events and future things.
Is this a good idea?

Lastly, wouldnt it be great if one day GTMagazine (or GTLife) would be the official magazine of GTPlanet?:sly:

I was actually just going to pop in here and ask if Schwadegan would mind giving the Photomode Competitions a space somewhere in the issue for an ad. I can design it since I've done all of the graphic design work for them up to this point anyways, all I'd need are the page measurements :).

I could also bring it up with the WRS stewards about one highlighting that too, depending on what Schwadegan thinks is best.

I still haven't even gotten started on a potential article, so I might have to put mine on the back-burner for the next issue!

I've skipped every page but the first, second and last . What if, instead of just a small magazine based around GT5. We can call it The Planet - as based around the site name. We can even incorporate events like the SFGTP or UKGTP into it. And Joey D is doing that GTP's Star in a Reasonably Priced Car. We could post the interviews in it.
Just my two cents... I don't have a PS3, let alone GT5 :dopey:

That'd be quite nice indeed.

Surely we can do some promotion for the photomode competitions, maybe even feature the winners (and runner ups?)
The page size is standard A4, either you do one image in that size per page or you use InDesign to assemble the pages. If you do them in Photoshop send me the .PSD file so I can add them in the magazine easily.

Before you bring something up with the WRS stewards, we'll have to figure out what that would be. Some kind of interview? I don't really know what would fit best since I'm not involved with that stuff. :dopey:

Any reason why my article isn't in the listing of articles on first page? I sent it in couple days ago and you replied to my email so I was just wondering.

awesome Idea
I would add, that you start listing Bugs, and flaws, and incompatibility problems and really highlight the problems,
Like that Damn Gear ratio problem, when you buy full custom gearbox its not custom , it has auto adjust and nothing else, I cannot drive big turbo cars efficiently, N/A V8/ V10 V12 cars not so bad as they have low end torque you can get away with wide gears, but turbo a little engine with big turbo, it ruins it

And also have a page or 2 dedicated to big online races, showing current standings, and some action pics
Again Do it, You have my support, I would love to help

I think that is a great idea, post the winners of photomode along with maybe a small piece about the creation of the images. as WRS results would be welcome as some people dont always head over there all the time.

I would also be willing to contribute in anyway I can, so if you need anything just PM me :)

Also I would be willing to test the epub/pdf version on an ipad for compatibility issues, I also run epub / PDf software along with PS and such editing software. more than happy to help.

You might be able to help, testing the format on ipad once we get there. As far as I understand, it reads .pdf files with no problems with page flicks etc?

It does indeed.I will find as much info as I can on formats and quirks for ipad and iphone PDF's to try and eliminate any possible problems.

Ok so aparently the iPad and iBooks specifically wont accept certain fonts so trial and error may have to do to weed out what will wont work, that is if your not just publishing the pages as images. but if you are publishing as seperate txt and images within the PDF/epub then these are the curretly supported fonts for ibooks.

Baskerville
Cochin
Palatino
Times Roman
Verdana

I'm not sure what your using so far as a typeface?

Wow, now this is truly amazing. :D, I used to be the chief editor of my college's newspaper and I love community ran projects like this. And not to mention I love writing + cars. I think I'll give it a go and submit something. If it is okay I plan on doing a article on the Tesla Roadster?

Hmmm, I have a good idea for the Photomode aspect, I'll get started on it tonight when I get home. As for WRS... there might be some very interesting news in that regard in a little while, so I'll keep you in the loop if what I'm thinking might develop, does :).

Results might be hard to tie in, we'll have to know roughly when the magazine's going to be published or else they'll be kind of out of date. However... an ad for the WRS to remind people of it might not be bad?

As for Photomode, I'm actually starting to ask users about their process when they win, so I'm going to try to incorporate that as best as I can 👍

You are right my friend, at some point GT news will become scarce and it will be a little repetitive, so here is my two cents. just like Daniel said it will be awesome if its named "The Planet" or "The Sim Planet" the reason being is because at some point we would like to cover other sims that are not GT and if you have a name like "GT Life" many other sim nuts would not bother taking a look at it and i know that Schwadegan and many others including me want as many people to read the magazines as possible. The current progress is fantastic though:tup:👍👍

This is a GT magazine, not InsideSimRacing magazine. Though "The Planet" might sound good, it sounds like a newsletter. GTLife(my personal fave) or GTMagazine show that this magazine is for lovers of Gran Turismo. If our target audience is Gran Turismo fans with Gran Turismo articles, why change the whole idea of the magazine just so a non-gt fan would pick it up?

EDIT- I dont think stories can ever get scarce. Even though cars may get repeated, it happens IRL too. Do you get motor trend? It is the worlds most subscribed automotive magazine, and just flipping through my short pile of 20, the Ford Mustang/Shelby GT500 graces 7 covers. And i never get tired of reading the cover stories.
