What a fu**ing mess up..............this is just stupid! I feel so sorry for the fans who have gone............and I think its right that they are throwing bottles onto the circuit.......they better get a refund because having 6 cars on the track is a complete farce! :grumpy:

This is going to ruin F1 in the US forever......and ruin the sport for many forever.....

boycott free points? no thanks. at least ferrari finally got their win. the people throwing stuff on the track are very irresponsible though. this is really dumb though. good thing I didn't fly all the way to indy this year.

this is why i want tire changes to return, though. it's friggin stupid. the michelin men must have their brains up the ass.

That will be a niiice podium ceremony.... *gets some popcorn*

Worse in this is that Ferrari pilots agree to adding the chicane in this morning's meeting. It was on Todt and Bernie's shoulders. Idiots.

Has anyone else realized yet that at the end of the race, Minardi will be beating BAR Honda?

Uh-oh.
The fans are now trashing the track.

Riots coming?
Nah, rednecks don't usually riot...

I wouldn't say the fan there in Indy are rednecks. I think any venue would have the same exact reaction. This is an absolute joke. I've already sent the FIA an email and everyone else should. The FIA has done a really nice job on this race! 👍

Its Michelin's fault, they didnt make a good enough tire, Bridgestone did so its not impossible.

The teams had nothing to do with it, why is people blaming ferrari?

They should have just cancelled the whole race............full stop......there is no point with just 6 cars........

Michelin said that they would fly out new tires on friday from france.........but it never happened beacause they were unproven......

Indy it a unique track that I was looking foreward to.......now its a pile of sh**

I don't see the big issue of F1 over here? There's a reason it was in Europe only. The ****ty ass cars of IRL and Indy is what is expected in the USA. F1's quality and standards does not belong in a pointless country as the US.

This is really going to hurt F1s image in the US. This has set back any development of American liking of F1. Nice one!

Who wants to bet that one of the Jordans or Minardis crash out of the race?

 if 4 cars go it will be the biggest joke in history........and it is likely to happen knowing those teams reliability

Thanks for that comment! There are fans in the US just as devoted to F1 as any of the Europeans. And no not everyone expects the crap from IRL and CART. CART used to be halfway decent and now it completely sucks. IRL sucked from the beginning. I don't watch either and nor do I plan to.

My god, why didn't all the F1 drivers just boycott the race?!! Till they get there demands met, this isn't fair.
Why should they be punished? Their supplier didn't screw up!

At the same time, I felt that the FIA should've done something more to aid the teams so there would be a race today. Ugly events like this are times for special rules to be implemented for the sake of the race.

i dont feel like getting into a flame war here but the US market is the largest consumer market in the world making it a HUGE asset. ignorance isnt needed here.

they really fumbled the ball here, for the FIA to harp on safety like they do and then tell the teams to run the tires they have is just silly. i dont see why they couldnt just let them switch the tires and line them up behind the bridgestones. this isnt a performance issue it was a safety issue and will cost F1 in general greatly.

This is in no way FIA's fault, they told the teams that they were allowed to race, the Michelin teams cou;d have:
Reduced their speeds in Turn 13
Change their tyres and incur a big penalty.

This is Michelin's fault.

Its already pretty close to the biggest joke in history. We don't need any cars dropping out to make it any more of a joke.

IT's Michelin error in the first place, yes. What they wanted was either to add a chicane or be allowed to change tires, then they would let the bridgestone in front of the grid, and race for the show, without points. WHAT MORE CAN YOU DO TO MAKE UP FOR YOUR ERROR??? Yet that wasn't enough for Ferrari and the FIA.

Bottom line in any sports is that it's a freaking show that people pay for, not a joke like this!

MONTEIRO TO GET ON THE PODIUM! :D

Grandstands clearing, while the track gets messier.

WTG Max Mosley/Bernie Ecclestone: YOU JUST KILLED F1 YOU ****ING BASTARDS!

This messup is not going to hurt just the US market for F1. I'm sure there are a whole lot of people outside the US, that are equally pissed off.

I wish Sauber still used Bridgestones, that way I would get to see Felipe Massa on the podium. :(
You selfish peoples; you've already got Barrichello, who is hardly even on the gas and has a 10 second lead over the Jordans.

I doubt that there will be a USA GP next year.....even if there is ...no one will go!

Can u imagine if only one car finished the race cos the others went out! OMG how lame would that be!

Robin 2223
and I think its right that they are throwing bottles onto the circuit.......

You complete ****.

Do you have ANY idea what would happen if a car ran over a bottle at 200mph? Or what would happen if a driver got one in the face? Do you?

If you did you wouldn't be saying anything so close to as ******* retarded as this.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if there is going to be no USGP next year. That would be a real shame because the only way F1 is ever going to do anything in the US is through exposure. Oh well . . . I guess we always have CRAPCAR . . . . . . . . . .

The point is they shouldnt even be bloody racing.......are they insane.......they are risking their lives anyway for no point.........no one is watching and they shoulds have cancelled the entire race anyway!

What do you expect from the fans though? It is a complete joke. It wouldn't be any real different at any other venue. I would love to see what some of you Brits would do if they had something similar dealing with football.
