Post pics of me knocking the boxes over on Nurb. Yeah, it was me. I got bored last lap as I was dead center in the pack and quite far away from people in front as well as behind. I turned lap 7 on Nurb into a screw around and drift lap. It was lovely.

They say confession is good for the soul...lol.👍 Remember though, the guys behind you might be fighting for position and those boxes aren't "light" and could easily cost you a position or two if you happen to run into one. I know this from experience...:grumpy:

Uhm, didn't Owens win the last one?
Also, Tyrrell got waaaay to many points total. ;)

I should have sandbagged and started on pole for the second or third race...

I thought Owens won the last race as well, Tyrrell should have 21 points by my math.

Maybe there was a bit of lag... the finish was very close though. :sly:

Are you checking my math now? (Regarding 2pts...) I decided I didn't need to fix that because it didn't change his points position.
The DC on the race - I had added the points for last place on him. But it doesn't change anything.

And we have to admit, he made a strong show of the Laguna Seca... Being on point surely gave him a leg up, but I don't think many could've kept that strong lead.

Idk how it's done in this group, but does anyone who DCs get the pole in the next race? I think in ORCA we had a rule that if you D/C you have to ghost at the start of the second race and let people by.

This is not ORCA. :P

This is a casual weekly club of stand-alone-tournaments, with informal qualifying, and RGO to make things interesting among varying experience levels, and to save time between races.

Tyrrellracing was simply disconnected. I don't think he enjoyed not having a shot at finishing the 1st race, and being in the running for points.

PSN has been punishing us all enough with connection issues lately. Let's not punish each other too! :(

Wired or wireless there is not a significant difference between the two, yes 9 out of 10 times wired will come out on top.

Small pointers that may help you get better connections; check your own room settings before you connect to the lounge / room by going to My Home page then My Home Settings icon, open my lounge settings look at the connection info at the bottom Nat type / bandwidth.

Nat 2 and bandwidth high or very high would be nice here, race quality standard, voice chat off or low, once that is done go to options and clear system cache, your setting will not change so you can now exit my home settings.

If all your members do this before entering the room, it makes sure you’re all on the same page / playing field; don’t need to go into more about setting for the lounge as it is very well covered in the manual.

Unfortunately we can’t all have nat1 / nat2 type bandwidth high / very high connections, and as the old saying goes the strength is only as strong as its weakest link, but by doing these small checks before entering the lounge, you may stand a fighting chance of better connections for your race.

You may all do this every time all ready, I don’t know, if not I hope it helps you.

Phillip.

Thanks for posting the tips. 👍

I have the VCRC Lounge set to "race quality standard" - because someone told me that even though it says high is recommended to me, it will be better for whoever goes in there... I forget who told me this or why though.
We had disabled mics, and still had the problem. PB couldn't connect at all eventually... this is the 3rd time it's happened.

The person at the top of the list (the host?) was the person who is known to have a very reliable & fast connection.

I'm not even sure what matters anymore. :grumpy:

@drandad, thats a very good list. With a wireless connection to the PS3 I can only get NAT3, which is not enough for me to enter online lounges. I need NAT2, and that requires a cable connection to the router. With NAT2 and clearing the cache before entering the rooms I never have any problems.

If the room is not fixed you will be in the mesh type connection, whereby all in the room share info with each other.

Fixed room is star type whereby the host must have a strong connection (large bandwidth)as everyone runs through the host, as though to speak, (rule of thumb) but this can be better for any member with nat3 connection type, than the mesh type room.

I know we can't always please all the people all the time, but if your members work together by looking at their own connections first, I'm sure it will go a long way to helping.

I wasn't taking of how you set your lounge up, more that every member in the room has the same personal setting which should help with the flow of information between each member in the room.

Hope thats helpful Chloe all the best.

Phillip.

The three of us finished withing .4 seconds of each other but Owens was first, JP was second and I was third. I think there was a post-race review that may have effected their finishing positions though.

Either way, really fun racing again with everyone. This car was a handful but very satisfying when you're able to be fast with it. I really enjoyed man-handling it around the tracks. :)

I must have gotten a penalty as well because I finished 2nd in the last race and you got bumped up ahead of me Brandon. My apologies to anyone I may have inadvertantly affected in that race that resulted in my penalty. There was a lot of bumping and rubbing and banging and a couple of silly 3 wides and if I caused anyone any harm it was not intentional, my apologies nonetheless. :guilty:

Congratulations again Brandon, it was a very strong showing on your part, especially that first and last race. I'll have to start taking you more seriously...lol..:sly:

It is possible to have nat 2 without cable.if interested try DMZ conection to your router. Important: the wifi router needs to password protected.

I'm not sure what happened, still waiting on clarification before I take any pride in my "victory". Had my tires not suddenly worn off on the last lap, causing me to clip the rail in the double-right-hander at the bottom of the hill, I'm pretty sure I would have taken both of you anyway. :)

I'm pretty sure if I hadn't taken the high road and spent the better part of a lap waiting to make a pass, I would have given you all a run for your money... :sly:

Hindsight is 50/50. :)

I suppose avoiding the wrath of post race infractions was probably the wise choice, even if it wasn't quite as fun... 👎
