VCRC vintage & low power :: Sunday 3pm GMT / 10am US EST

I did not know that about the replays. Shame I forgot to save it :(

nomos, was it with you I chased down kling on the second lap? did some bump drafting to get us both closer.. but then when we caught up I quite rudely passed you in the karusel..
It was me, thank you! I didn't initiate the bump draft because I wasn't sure of the etiquette here. And after your (definitely not rude!) pass you were both off into the distance!
One tiny error can cost you loads of time in a car like this where it's all about momentum.

Well depending on interest & schedules, I've thought about pushing it back a half hour... maybe that will help a few peeps in future.

That would certainly help me out, but if it's just for one, no need to mess with success 👍

We've been out the last two Saturday nights, up way past my bedtime

I had a really hard time seeing the track on the last lap. It was raining hard and it was really dark. I actually really enjoyed the last lap because it was a real challenge. I found myself talking to myself saying what part is next is on the track. I was literally saying okay next up is a sharp left hander get ready to slow down . I kinda played it by memory. It was a good way to actually train my mind on that track to be honest. It's so long and complex that I find myself not able to remember the whole track so I have a hard time remembering how to get through each corner. That race actually helped me remember the track better which will allow me to perform better in the future. Isn't that right @watermelonpunch ;)

Good to see @kcheeb has found his way over here for some Vintage/Lowbies on the days that work.

I really wish I had made it this morning for the Bertone.

I admit I was a little worried about conditions getting dark on the track. I know racing in twilight and darkness is realistic, and racing in various weather conditions, blah, blah, but I really can't see in those conditions, even virtual conditions, on an unlit road course, and I don't want to ruin anyone else's race, nor sit staring at a wall.

I'm not asking for a change, I just can't participate in those. Real or Virtual, that's where my race ends, unfortunately.

Not everything is everyone's cup of tea of course.

And especially if your cup of tea is too much coffee in the morning.

I wouldn't do a race that lasted much longer or I'd be like @BrandonW77 ... :sly:

I've always said if I was going to do a race over 1 hour... it would need to be at Eiger Nordwand Short Track.

I would never do so much dark in a fast car, frankly. Or even one much faster than the Biposto. But this I thought wasn't so bad.

Personally, I often find running the 'ring in the dark oddly relaxing, at least with a car I know well. The world shrinks down to that next braking point, that next turn-in, et cetera, as other distractions fall away. (I often start looking and thinking too far down the road in daylight, especially at the 'ring, and lose focus on where I am at the moment.) Almost all my fastest laps in GT5's Nurburgring 24H were in the dark, for instance.

In the dark and in the rain with a car I don't really know thoroughly, though... that was another matter. Once @Phouchg stopped closing in on me (something went wrong in Klostertal, I think?), I went into cruise mode.

Anyhoo, great race today, really enjoyed it. First lap and a half was really intense. Disappointed that I couldn't find those few seconds needed to keep up with the fast guys, though. :( Need more practice. (Well, and talent, too )

Okay I'm hoping, upon cc570's suggestion some peeps can get together on Wednesday...
(like somewhere after 1pm US EST / 6pm GMT)

And we can test drive the R8 Gordini, the Nissan Bluebird rally car... and the hudson?
@CC570 - do I have that right?
And like on rally courses including Chamonix mini the little Eiger trail, and :ill: :nervous: Matterhorn short track   :scared:

And that means you'd need the appropriate tires.
And I don't know what tires for tarmac - but I heard cc570 mention really awful tires. :odd:

I might be able to do that. I would have to buy the bluebird but I have the other two. Also was the damage caused to street king in the endurance self inflicted or did someone else damage him but didnt pit with him? Because when I passed him he was hurting bad. He was going really slow and I think whoever did it should have pit with him.

@AudiMan2011 did not lodge a complaint against any other driver... which I would assume he would've done so had there been reason to.
I thought it would be impertinent to inquire about the details there. :odd:  :sly:

I can say that he was right on my tail in 'miss-hit-miss' (the long right-hander before Wehrseifen) and I saw him slide off into the wall at the exit behind me.

If there was contact I would certainly have felt it; the car was on the limits of adhesion there and even a light kiss from behind would have sent me into the wall too. (It is a very easy place to overstep the bounds of traction; on one of the two practice laps I did last night, I did almost the exact same thing. My wheel was bent almost thirty degrees off-centre and it was a nightmare to drive after that!)

Thanks Melon I will get a thread going tomorrow.
Cars would be the Renault R8 and the Nissan Bluebird rally car.
If people have them and want to try them
Marcos Mini and the Lotus Elan s2 (not the special)

I want to test out a format as well as the cars. Three stages:snow, dirt, and tarmac.
Two runs on each: one with each car.
Each "run" consists of a short qualifying session followed by a one lap race. Qualifying length chosen to allow for up to three qualifying laps. Race start is slowest first.
Points given for both qualifying and race.
Comfort hard tires for the tarmac stages. Damage heavy.

Off topic... but mentioned here...
I just noticed a pattern, and a rather stupid pattern, with the alert system.
It will stop giving you alerts about a subscribed thread if you don't actually look at the thread for awhile. I thought it was not posting. But as soon as you look at the thread again, it starts giving you alerts.
Which kind of seems counter-intuitive.

That is pretty dumb but actually I think your right I believe I've noticed that myself. Like your saying though the alerts are so you know when a threads been updated so you know when to look at it but if you don't know if the thread has been updated then why look at the article

It's almost as if PD is now operating GTP and instituting their mandatory bugs into the software.
