Why the hell should I kill 72000 zombies in Dead Rising 2? Why should I play 500 online matches in Street Fighter 4? What got that to do with skill? Trophies are for little kids who like to brag. Pro gamers laugh about the people who are still collecting trophies. You don't get ANYTHING for your trophies not even a wallpaper, lol. Tekken 6 gives you a silver trophy for playing 30 online matches and in Street Fighter 4 you have to play 500!!! online matches to get a bronze trophy. The trophy system is ridiculously stupid. Not to mention trophies like flow where you have to do NOTHING for 30 min to get a gold trophy. The list of pointless trophies is endless, but I forgive you because you only got 3 games and therefore no idea what you are talking about

Got to do with skill????? My point exactly! Quit whining and use your VAST amounts of skill and get the vettel gold! If youre that skillful then it should be a walk in the park.

And my point on only having 3 games that has obviously flown WAAY over your head is that ppl say they cant(or wont) afford a wheel but want the trophy it gets them but play games half way through and moan about the cost of stuff!

And i thought the foundation of this thread was to get the platinum trophy. The gold in vettel events was stopping ppl from getting platinum so an easier gold time would help them achieve this. You want platinum in gt5 - practice(A LOT) with ds3 or buy a wheel. You want platinum in DR2 - kill 72,000 zombies. Simple!

And there are countless trophies in gt5 (like the 72,000 zombie, 500 online sf4) that require ZERO skill. The 3 or 4 that do, you wanna make them easier??? Yeah, i'm sure the "laughing pro gamers" would love that! But i know that if anybody sees my gt5 platinum they know i drove the X1 faster than vettel himself.

Ps. I dont achieve ANY trophies for a "wallpaper", i do them for the satisfaction of beating the challenges the game has set for you. But hey, if its a wallpaper youre after go to playstation store, there's a few there for ya....... or cant you afford them??????

Monza: 2:04.038 So close..yet so far away!

I honestly dont mean to 'sound' patronising but Monza is VERY, VERY easy. Put it this way, i managed to overtake Vettel before turn four (first part of curva di lesmos) on the FIRST lap. Trust me, compared to some of the guys i watched on youtube i am absolutely pants! Just work on the chicane (Variante della Roggia). You can cut the hell outta it!

I know, I have caught and passed him there also then screw up latter on the course. I'll get it.

Ahhhh, then it's a matter of nerves which means they will go with familiarity. You keep doing it and 100% you will get it.

Ps. Press up on the d-pad to remove the ghost when you get near him so he isn't getting in the way of the corners. That clinched it for me on Suzuka!

Only 2 more golds to go! 👍 Monza Vettel Challenge Gold Time with DualShock 3 = 2:03:880
What a difference Skid Force Recovery makes, my time with everything off was 2:04:033

1st lap - 1:04:216(Ghost obscured my vision at one corner)
2nd lap - 59:664

Skid Force Recovery - On
Active Steering - Mild
ABS - 1
Controller Sensitivity - 7

I'm giving up for today, my hands are killing me. I'm going to take a look at my 2:04:033 to see where I can clean up that 0:00:033. 👍

Wow ya time is so close to the gauge of Gold prize guys, a little more practice and patience may enable you to get the prize finally, though I know the feeling when we have failed to reach the goal by a few margin, lacking 0:00:050 or so. :(

I've only barely got bronze in those challenges with a DS3, and Gold and Silver are way far too challenging for those using a pad... Even some of us could gold in the challenges, before the gold time was rectified by an update months ago, we wouldn't even think we could got to the standard of being awarded with a bronze trophy. :guilty:

ありがとうございます。 Monza Gold achieved. I am now working to shave off 3.5 seconds on Suzuka for the gold.👍 私は最善を尽くします :) 👍

Are you referring to Lap 1? If so then you're actually well on your way to getting gold. I've seen people getting gold even with a 1st lap of 1:04.6xx.
1:03.999 is not mandatory, unless you're referring to the 2nd lap.

For both laps the best I could get was +/- 1:04:300.
I know, the second lap can be half a second faster, but I tend to mess it up, resulting in laps with similar times.

The thing is, I would need to drive every corner to the very best of my abilities. 2laps = almost impossible... :nervous:

And to make things harder, I use the buttons (<-,->,X,[]) instead of the stick (I can't use the stick, trust me), and AT.

Just buy the DLC. You'll have a X2011 Prototype which is even faster than the X2010.

They could lower the gold times but that would mean there is no hard challenge left at all offline. I already got the golds a time ago and I wouldn't care if they lowered the times. Con't know why people would care about that. You still know yourself that you did it the hard way right.

How about I put it like this: you practise wrong?!!
Do you own a steering wheel, then its do-able, else forget it...

How can he be practicing wrong? It takes alot of dedication and concentration to achieve gold in the Vettel Challenge. It is also possible with a DS3, many videos showing examples of this.

I tried so hard using the DS3 but my bag of talent clearly had holes. I knew that id only get close by using a wheel and taking advantage of part throttle (much easier to acheive with a wheel and pedal set) left foot braking and easier manual gear changing. I spent literally hours attempting this event using a ds3, as soon as i got a wheel, i had bronzed all 3 in about 20 minutes! Got the car as a prize and that'll do for me until the inspiration to better myself again hits me.

2 months ago I deleted my "all gold" GT5 data and started over again...
This afternoon I tried the 2 remaining Vettel challenges: Monza and the Nurburgring.
Result:
-Nurburgring: about 13 attempts and 25 minutes later..... gold :)
-Monza: about 6 attempts and 10 minutes later..... gold :)
Suzuka I did a few weeks ago, took me about 4 hours :nervous:

Practice did the job. But having done them before also helped a lot.
Now I got 6 Bulls, don't know what to do with them hehe ;)

Good luck to everyone who is going to try and gold these challenges!! 👍

^^^^ You did the Nurburgring in 25 mins????? I've been trying in total for about 3 hours and I can't get gold. 2.09.2xx is my best time. I'm doing 1.04.xxx first laps, but I can never do a faster lap for the second one.

Yes, but as I said I have done them before.
Way back (last februari) it took me about 3 hours too, but now I know the car and the track.
Did it with a G25, manual transmission, rightfoot braking (leftfoot might be quicker).
O, and ABS 1, slip recovery on.

1'04.xxx is good, I did a 1'04.2xx on my first lap I think.
Just keep trying and eventually you will get it, good luck!

Its stupid to say against let say an avarage racer to get the Vettel challenge all gold with a controller....... I dont have to explain more than that!

X2011 Prototype > X2010 Prototype :)

I have to disagree on that one... Anyone could have the X2011 and not everyone has the skill to have the X2010 Prototype... I suppose many people duped them until March I think and now many people have them...

Now tho X2010 Prototype has much better value as it cannot be bought, duped or sent to others... I golded the Vettel Challenge on two accounts and duped one prototype last year - now I have three :sly: two with 0 miles... but it doesnt matter now tbh... cuz you cannot dupe them... haha
Now together I have around 25 X2010's on both accounts... and I don't even use them...

anyway on the topic: practise a lot and try to enjoy it... 👍

Ok, finally got gold at Monza and silver at Nurb. Where are you guys passing Vettel at Nurb? I can't get close enough to attempt to pass. Gain some time on him through Ford and Dunlop and then give it all back at Veedol!
Is Nurb like Monza in that you pretty much have to pass him to get Gold?

Hey you're getting closer. The best advice I can give is stick to it, you'll only keep improving. Do it until it feels like second nature, till you don't feel any pressure.

While it's true the 2nd lap can be 0.5s faster (or more), that's for the best case scenario. I myself did 1:04.1xx and 1:03.8xx so don't worry about it too much. And I know guys who use the D-Pad with AT instead of the stick and managed to gold it. Keep at it man. 👍

Nope, on Nurb and Suzuka (in fact Monza too I think), you don't have to pass him to get gold. But you do have to get at least real close to him, almost as close like the starting position.
This live gold replay may help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48gu1_MJHV0

If you're pass him, then you're way ahead of gold. But it may help if you turn off the ghost car, so that it won't distract you.

I know everyone is saying practice practice practice. The thing is I have tried this alms every day for almost a year or somewhere around there. Wheel might be easier but I don't have money to shell out on that. I keep going as fast as I can and it doesn't work. I'm not a bad driver, I can outdrive most any of the people in my friends list but I can't do this.

Try to break the circuit up in stages so you "perfect" each stage...use sector times to judge your pace, even if you mess up on the first sector keep going so you practice the next stage. You'll find you start completing these sectors without really thinking about it. Turn the ghost car and instrument controls off, try to keep distractions to a minimum. Above all else, you need to relax. I found I got frustrated with Nurburgring, which made me try too hard forcing too many mistakes. If you're not getting close to your best time, take a break and come back to it fresh. :)

On Suzuka, I was able to obtain a 1st lap time of 1:06:971 and then disqualified for cutting Degner Curve too much. If I can maintain that same run for 2 laps I may be able to gold soon.....we shall see....

Degner Curve, Spoon Curve and CASIO Triangle are my trouble spots and where I need to improve my times.
1st lap - 1:06:429
2nd lap - 1:06:371
2:12:800......:grumpy: That's it for me today, tomorrow is another day.

I've set out to get gold for everything, I want that trophy. This is the last of the Challenges to acheive my goal. I've tried briefly, with nothing yet. 100% focus is required for this 1. Good Luck to all who are trying.
