Well, GTA: VC is flavored with glitches like those.

On that particular case I guess the clock must've remained running during the short sequence where Hillary comes up next to you and says:

"Okay, I'll work for you, but please... treat me bad."

Freak.

I crossed the line as 1'49 became 1'50 (I was watching). The caption came up with - and the stats say - "Race Time: 1'57". HUH?

Yep, me and KM discussed that before (a few pages back)--my 1:50 actually was a 1:43-- I can usually bring it in an an actual time of 1:48 or less just about every time.

I think a time of 1:40 (stats of 1:47) is possible--

Also, I just got an UNMORPHED rotation of 2263 degrees :D -- I'm uploading the clip right now--I'm on dial up so give me a 1/2 hour or so (my upload is alot slower then download for some reason)-- its the same spot as my morphed one but this time on a PCJ-- I didn't land it though :(

Link to the clip--

2263 degrees
11 sec long and about 2.6 MB

Just recently I did the RC plane race to try and beat my score, and after a few tries I got 2:09 beating my previous 2:10, but when I went into my stats to check it it said I had 1:42. Does anyone know what causes this?

I was just coming back to say the exact same thing...

Famine; "The Driver"; 1'50 (1'43 when the clock stopped, but 1'50 in the stats).

I think a 1'45 is there personally - I made "many" errors.

Nope--

What time are you submitting or are you submitting??

Its a new #1 so I need a screenshot of your 2:09-- I don't know about the 1:42-- if its in your stats then I guess we would have to include it as a glitched stat (which is allowed). Same as my 74 meter jump height-- I don't remeber ever jumping that high, yet it was in my stats-- it will obviously have a note next to it...let me know what you want to do.

Updated Famines time in "the driver"-- did you take a screenshot?? If you plan on trying to knock it down more then you can probably wait on this..

Where are you parking the Hotring racer (if you don't mind me asking)-- I park it at the first corner next to the trafic signal pole so the right door is open instead of the drivers side (shaves off a second).

I didn't take a screenie, but I can easily now it's saved (I've now got a game saved before each of Alloy Wheels, The Driver, The Shootist, Checkpoint Charlie and... something else. I forget).

I park the Hotring Racer inside the 4th checkpoint, on the right with the driver's door open - I can tap Hillary and spin him out, and end up pointing north so I can leap out of one and into the other :D

There's no need to to keep a save game from before Checkpoint Charlie. You can go back and do it again and again whenever you want.

That sounds pretty cool (but a little tricky)-- what time is on the clock as you leave that first intersection--I'm usually at about 13 seconds-- I'm just curious if its faster or not.

As far as the checkpoint charlie save--supposedly, it becomes stormy if if you repeat it after you have completed it so if you do it first time each time---you should get faster times.

I have 2 saves for repeat timed mission--one for shootist only, the second one I'm at Alloy, Driver, and can also do checkpoint charlie (although I still suck at that one) for the first time.

The record holder is 81.33 times better then you. -- my best is about 10 seconds (rear end always comes around on me) so don't feel too bad.
----
Thanks Blake-- you should try that method--as long as you stay on the bike it gives you great rotation (I had 3 jumps yesterday that beat the old record)-- I don't know if you can see but you need to pop a wheelie and turn a hair as you are hitting the car.

If anyone wants to check out some awesome stunts check out this video-- it might give you some rotation ideas.

Caution, its a 52 MB file but its worth it (a 5 minute, high quality video--looks good on full screen).

http://recluse-inc.com/RoED-XviD.avi

Also you will need to download this codec for windows media player.

http://recluse-inc.com/XviD_install.exe

Also, apparently if you can get a vehicle to explode just after you bounce off it it will boost your rotation--(at least on PC version) which is why some of these are so awesome. I believe you need to shoot at it as you approach with an MP5 (which I believe has the longest range for a submachine gun)

To describe the video its just a big collection of stunts set to music-- its a mix of car and bike stunts. He did use a skin mod for Tommy (El Diablo).

He said he used no handling mods on it. I know the guy from another forum and I believe him.

Wooah!

That's pretty freakin' awesome.

Same with me, I have trouble keeping the Faggio or Pizza Boy to go straight for that long. I got my distance with a PCJ though.

Yes I tried it after a saw your video and I kept soaring above the car, then I tried to turn and handbrake just before I hit it (that just made mefall to the ground) and then I decided I'd give up and go to the shooting range inside ammunation.

That reminds me... I got a Faggio the full length of a runway on a stoppie.

But since you can't turn 'em in a stoppie, how can anyone get over the length of a runway? On the streets you just won't get enough space.

There doesn't seem to be anyway to turn during a stoppie so my record is for the longest runway at the airport.

To other people: To prevent the rear end of the faggio from twisting and ruining your stoppie, tap the D-pad in the direction that it's turning - if the rear of the faggio is veering left then hit left to straighten it up, and vice versa. That's how you keep it going for a 1000 yds or more.

Try to do it as slowly as possible to get a good time.

Wheelie time: 50s
Wheelie distance: 177.58m
Stoppie time: 118s
Stoppie distance: 630.04m

I've no idea what people are doing to get a 7 hour wheelie... :D

Edit: I'm on the verge of doing a 100% game with $0.00 weapons budget and $0.00 auto repair and painting budget. Can I have a gold star? :D

Yes it does boost your spin, and yes you can do it on the PS2 version.

The best one to try out is at Hyman Condo with the Helicopter.

Get a PCJ and head for the roof. (make sure the heli's there), not just stay by the door or maybe a little round the corner on the left (as you come on to the roof), then get a machine gun and start shooting the heli untill flames appear. Then about 2-3 seconds before it blows up, get on your bike and jump the little ramp infront of it (may take a few times to get used to the timing on the flames) and if you hit it right you will fly over it as it blows up and it will put you into a mega spin (if you get it right, but not as good as the morph one). But you dont need t morph for this, so its cool. :)

Give it a try.

Click
HERE for the clip. (It's 2.9 MB)

I actually got 2979 degrees for that, but it dont show it in the replay.

Speaking of videos of the PC version of GTA. A friend of mine is gonna give me his PC version of GTA3 and I'm gonna start it again from scratch. How do you record video from the PC version?

Well you need FRAPS for a start. And thats it really. Oh and i use XP, so i use windows movie maker to edit it all and put them together.

When playing the game... If you pull off something cool and you think damn "i should of recorded that" then dont worry as your everymove is being recorded, so alll you gotta do is press F1 to watch the "replay", this is where FRAPS comes in.. When you get FRAPS all these numbers come up on the corner, but dont worry it's just the FPS etc, and all you gotta do is hit F9 before the stunt comes on and press F9 again after it, and the clip auto saves in the FRAPS folder, so you can always watch it. :)

But FRAPS doesnt record sounds off the game, thats why when you see these stunt videos, they always have music to them.

Updated--

Record wheelie is about 1.5 hours--- they can have that one.

Just dropped my RC Baron time to 2'15 - which unfortunately means we need a new 5th place, as I'm tied for 4th with Viper Maniac... :D Sorry...

Also:
Unmorphed rotation: 712 degrees
Checkpoint Charlie: 2'07

Edit: Screw that Baron time. In the interests of preserving the top 5, I went back...

RC Baron: 2'14
RC Bandits: 2'20

I also got a new unmorphed rotation yesterday - 1251 Degrees. Not that much higher than my last, but still.

Got it in the same place to, the fountain on Star Fish Island. Wasn't even trying, just trying to evade some cops that were chasing me.

Mine's in a totally unrelated place... How are you hitting the fountain - I only tend to flip over once, and it doesn't even register on the stunt-o-meter..?
