Replays show he clipped the inside wall through the Dipper, ricocheted across the track and mounted the wall on the return journey - and how lucky are the marshals in the post he wiped out?

Jeez, that's nasty. How on earth didn't he go over the fence? Fingers crossed the marshals are okay too.

Hopefully those Marshalls are alright. Pretty scary moment. But that car nearly went over that fence there. The Marshall Post seemed to stop the rolling effect.

If those posts weren't there he most likely would have gone straight over and into the gumtrees down the hill.

Hopefully all the marshalls are ok. Looks like it seeing as there's only one ambulance and all the paramedics are tending to the driver.

That's Chaz's weekend done.
In all my years watching races here i can't recall one like that at that corner.

Those marshals my god

Broken wrist and broken upper leg. Being taken to Orange as we speak.

He's real lucky that's all he suffered. Holy hell that was nasty. Wishing him all the best in recovery.

Hmm, well I guess there's not much they can do. Hopefully they can try and get a session in tomorrow morning or something.

It looked like there were police on the scene taking photographs. The lack of any news about the marshals post is troubling.

There is a practice session tommorow morning that goes for 45 minutes so hopefully they can make that a qualifying session and then have a shootout in the late afternoon

Hopefully they do. Even if it's at the expense of one the support races or something. I'd prefer that over allocating grid positions based on practice times.

:censored:ing hell that's bad, just glad he didn't go over the barrier. Hope everyone in the area is alright :(

Wow, that was a huge crash. Something so simple got so out of hand there. Never good to see, hopefully everyone's alright. Huge shame about qualifying too, hopefully they can sort it out for tomorrow

That car is a write-off. Speed may not have been high but the barriers have no give in them at all, so Mostert would've taken a large amount of the impact. I have never seen a car with that kind of damage.

For anyone who hasn't seen it

Looks like he pulled the handbrake as he was going into the second wall, good reactions from him as he may have gone over the barrier if he didn't do that
