Richard Craill should be a good source
He's just tweeted that 4 Marshall's have minor injuries, the fifth is in hospital and is in a stable condition.

Too many numbers are being thrown around. I only saw two or three at the post

Another case of the cars are safe but the track needs upgrades. The mountain itself would be softer than the concrete around it.

I see more fencing going up. Plus, Bright kept saying the mountain needs NASCAR safer-barriers. It really does.

Would be lots of work and very expensive. But much more worth than making a second circuit in the area.

They'd have to dig back the barriers and put them back half a metre or so if they don't want to change the racing space. They also need proper catchfencing where needed. Also move the marshalling spot further up the hill 30-40 metres.

All easy to say with hindsight i guess, but the position of the shifter is pretty stupid. I can see that becoming a dash mounted shifter like WRC used to have or paddles.

Now that things will reset for tomorrow and Sunday. Looks like a 2 horse race if Reynolds keeps his nose clean and has good fortune. Whincup may take a chunk of points away from Reynolds and Lowndes for sure.

I know, as per that past 2 years, anything can and will happen at Bathurst. This recent incident. The weather. Driver error. Pit stop dramas. Skippy. This gives drivers like Tander, Coulthard, McLaughlin, even Ambrose and Ingall, the Nissan crew. It gives them a sniff of possibilities with the #6 down.

New Schedule for tomorrow

Practice 6: 10:20 AM for 40 Minutes
Qualifying: 12:30 PM for 30 Minutes
Top Ten Shootout: 5:10 PM

There was a Touring Car Masters race originally scheduled for 12:30 but that has been moved to 8:50 AM following the V8 Ute Race tomorrow Morning

Qualifying has been rescheduled for tomorrow just after 12pm AEDST, the final V8 practice will be shortened 5 minutes to accommodate the change, full article on the V8SC page

They even adjusted the SuperView streaming schedule to show it, which is good. Even better is that I will be home in time to watch it. 👍

There was some big Thunderstorms hitting around the Bathurst area last night and with further rain expected today, it will make it very interesting!

This, could have saved Mozzie's leg on impact

Then again, he's way taller than Holdsworth who is in this pic.

Wonder if Courtney is back for the Gold Coast enduro. Could we see a situation where Ingall goes from HRT to PRA? Got to think he'd be the best choice for to partner Waters.

There's some food for thought, I was speculating they might get Paul Morris back, maybe even Murphy, Steve Johnson is about,

I was speculating more on them getting the car fixed to race this weekend, and who they would get to drive it with Waters, but then there is an immediate future where Chaz is highly unlikely to participate,

Highly doubt that car is fixable in time for the race.

They could, DJR fixed Mosterts car in 2013, and Reynolds car was fixed in 2014, HRT tried to get their other entry in to the shootout last year by pulling the #2, while it was a big lick the main areas of the car held up well, it is repairable,

Has anything been said about the Aussie Racing Car Driver?

Edit: Damien Flack. He is conscious. They'll report when more info is available.

Warren Luff:
Holden Racing Team co-driver Warren Luff believes the incident has highlighted areas for improvement at Mount Panorama.

The 39-year-old also believes a consideration should be made to install a light warning system instead of traditional marshals posts at certain areas of the circuit.

“Today’s incident has probably highlighted a few things about potential track safety that might need to be addressed in the future,” Luff told Speedcafe.com.

“There are obviously those incidents which you can’t obviously account for but as we saw today a car nearly went over the wall and made contact with a marshals’ post.

Edit 2: I believe the #6 has been withdrawn.

Missed the race this morning but just saw a replay of the wreck. How the heck did he keep his arms inside the car with it spinning that fast. Doesn't look as bad as people were making out, fire extinguishers did their job nice and quick.
