If I was Roland Id pull buttercup out of the car for the rest of the season, stick Dumbrell in, disobedience is one thing, flat out breaching the rules is another, that kid need disciplinary action fast...

FOX are showing Eastern Creek 2003, which is apparently the only archived race they have. Which is annoying, because I wanted to watch GP2 and GP3 from Sochi.

I don't think that Whincup intended to break the rules. His reasoning was sound - to get ahead of the safety car and pit while everyone was backed up - and had he pulled it off, it would have been brilliant. But he was never going to be able to do it; the safety car was deployed immediately, and the lead group had to react very quickly. The safety car is stationed at the end of pit lane, so Whincup stood no chance of beating it.

I believe that starts on Fox Sports Plus at 7:30pm. Might be wrong though.

But I do agree that they show Eastern Creek 2003 a lot, probably because their two current presenters came to blows then.

I missed the whole. Damn. Race. Other than the quick catch ups ordering a drink at the bar. I'm super happy Lowndes won it but from reading the commentary through this thread the race could have been much better.

The race overall was great, it's very hard to match the last two Bathurst races though. The main problem was Whincup prevented any sort of entertaining ending, as he was told to "not let anyone pass"

You do know pye is managed by Dane too right?

DJR weren't a competitive team when RD let Pye go to them, they still aren't a genuine competitor, despite this weekends speed. The Volvos are genuine competitors (When reliable) and with Cam Waters and Scott McLaughlin together, they would be quite successful. Creating a rival for Prodrive, which they wouldn't want.

Can anyone who knows the results check if the last ~30 laps are on YouTube and PM me a link? My DVR stopped recording with around 30 laps left and I don't want to spoil myself while looking for a video.

Don't read my spoiler.

"Pye is released frombthe hospital with no broken bones, only brusing. Lucky son. Guess those hail mary's from Ambrose paid off"

The fast one. Very hard to compare these races, they are in completely different categories. After watching V8Supercars for the past 10 years I find endurance racing very boring to watch.

Well what's your definition of fast, considering they're all either faster or as fast as a V8 Supercar? LMP2 was close the top 3 fought the entire race up until the end. The LMP1 was a fight as well as the top two also fought hard being a lap apart. GT had many moments but ultimately attrition took hold and the C7R sailed off to a win. GT-Am had a close fight for most of the race and were only separated by half a lap or a lap. twenty four hours of action packed racing.

Also I find it funny that you enjoy a 1000 km race which is the size of most small endurance races (3h events), yet the endurance races are very boring. I've also watched V8 Supercars for quite some time, I guess I just appreciate all Motorsports to a degree where when anyone claims any single race "the greatest" I have to do a double take and poke fun. In the end to each their own. But as you can see others would agree with me more so that they have their own "greatest race" that isn't Bathurst.

@LMSCorvetteGT2 its certainly a subject hard to define what would considered to be called "the greatest" the event itself in my eyes is a clear contender for top 5 greatest motoring events, the greatest needs everything, the circuit, the history, the personalities and strong competition throughout the grid, and exciting racing all day, and that is something that we are being spoiled for choice with now really, we see some many categories globally having great racing because as things are developed through engineering, innovation and stricter rulings we get to see proper BoP thus making fantastic racing, and we are getting it all around the world,

Great job to Garth Tander for snagging third place. I think many of you can tell that I'm happy with who won the race, but I curse Whincup for holding up the field and preventing what could've been an insane finish. The victory wasn't hard fought, however it does not detract from the legend that is Craig Lowndes.
