While I'm not a Triple 8 fan, i don't hate Whincup for holding the field up, even though he didn't all that much, since every single team would've done the same thing.

For sure. What made it extreme in my eyes, was Dutton saying for the world to hear, "Don't let anyone by. No pressure on Craig." Had we not heard that com, it would have been assumed anyway.

I felt sour after this race. The ads masking the race. It's not what we who have Foxtel were getting during normal races. I don't think Sandown had one ad.

Then, trap speeds. So much hype about terminal velocity and getting a tow. I saw 279km/h and nothing else about it.

Manufacturers. 3 Falcons finished. I'm losing faith in other marques joinIng. A couple mishaps by the #7 & #15. Rookie mistake by the #23. The Aussie Racing Cars had more variety of body shapes, bigger grid and just as exciting racing. I'm almost inclined to want a Mustang vs Camaro grid from 2017 onwards.

My feelings may change in 2 weeks. Right now, I'm like, eh.

But when they made the switch the selling point was "continual coverage, ad free"

¡Exactimente!

More to my point was reliability of the cars. No punctures. One Volvo engine. One steering broken. Half a drama of an electrical issue. One throttle program. Each car ran hard doing qualifying laps on full tanks.

What ever reliability issues over the rest of the field, they were pretty well hidden. Good to see all cars pushing every lap

The ad situation was well out of Foxtel's control. Unlike previous races, the commentary team actually built up to a commercial break, and said "Off to a commercial break". I had the feeling that Bathurst would always have ads, due to the size of the event (global, biggest race in the Southern Hemisphere). It's like the Super Bowl in the NFL. That's their biggest event, and as a result there are more ads.

If you thought Bathurst would be ad free, you're kidding yourself.

Bathurst 12H didn't have as much either.
I still maintain this year's 12HR had the most ads in one race ever. Especially in the last 15mins.

Reliability! Finally Nissan do one of these without blowing a power steering rack, they might be competitive next year for the season,

Ambrose just isn't interested in the driving side anymore,

In other news, Lowndes got away with hitting the cone on pit exit,

#12 & #17. The liveries should be interesting as well. What a quick combo. Happy for Pye.

Interesting to see who Tekno goes with now. Thought Pye might have been their guy if Penske didn't retain him. With him gone, who's left? Reynolds, Slade, Moffat?

I wouldn't be surprised if they take Percat. The LDM seat is really just something for him to do until something better comes along.

What about Wall? I know everyone at home wants him to go, but is there a genuine chance that will happen? Although, in saying that, the second Volvo seat does not look half as good as it did this time last year...

I'm waiting for Davison to jump ship.

Waters to PRA.
Moffat to Tekno.
Reynolds to GRM or Pither to GRM.
Percat to Walkinshaw.
Wall to NISMO or Fiore to NISMO
LeBroq to Erebus.
Reynolds replaces Wood.

It was said in the broadcast that Reynolds is secure at PRA for next year,

Erebus is only running 1 car as announced by Betty in Inside Supercars,

So far really the only seats available is the Tekno car and the hole Mostert will leave for some time,

Refresh me, please? I can vaguely remember her saying she will at least attempt to run 2 cars, but she would run just the one if she can't afford 2 cars.

It was a while back, I may be referring to the very same vague memory, I dont see a second car coming along unless both of these sponsors stay onboard,

EDIT: Was I and a handful of other people amongst other forums to see the #888 car hit the cone on pit lane exit during the race?

I can see Wendy's staying on board, if they have the cash, but Penrite will probably be a one off thing.

He did hit the cone on exit, but he did have to come awkwardly out of his pit box, from what I've seen.

There was a slow mo instant replay of the cone he hit. It landed exactly where he hit it.

Betty said she would have at least one car on the grid. The one car thing is possibly an option. Maro Engel did a better job than Walsh.

Oh yeah... And that trophy. 👎. It should be shaped like the course. Or as big as a man.
