While I'm not a Triple 8 fan, i don't hate Whincup for holding the field up, even though he didn't all that much, since every single team would've done the same thing.
And none of those races last six and a half hours, either. It's not what we who have Foxtel were getting during normal races. I don't think Sandown had one ad.

But when they made the switch the selling point was "continual coverage, ad free"

The ad situation was well out of Foxtel's control. Unlike previous races, the commentary team actually built up to a commercial break, and said "Off to a commercial break". I had the feeling that Bathurst would always have ads, due to the size of the event (global, biggest race in the Southern Hemisphere). It's like the Super Bowl in the NFL. That's their biggest event, and as a result there are more ads.I felt sour after this race. The ads masking the race. It's not what we who have Foxtel were getting during normal races. I still maintain this year's 12HR had the most ads in one race ever. Especially in the last 15mins.Bathurst 12H didn't have as much either.
¡Exactimente!
More to my point was reliability of the cars. No punctures. One Volvo engine. One steering broken. Half a drama of an electrical issue. One throttle program. Each car ran hard doing qualifying laps on full tanks.
What ever reliability issues over the rest of the field, they were pretty well hidden. Good to see all cars pushing every lap
It's a shame they can't put Coulthard in #18.#12 & #17. The liveries should be interesting as well. What a quick combo. Happy for Pye.
Coulthard was always going to be the kingpin in the silly season movement. It's gonna be interesting to see what happens with it all.Hmm, that change alone makes next year more exciting.

Fourth Walkinshaw car maybe? And on that cue. Slade to replace Coulthard at BJR.
Wonder where that leaves Reynolds if PRA decides not re-sign him?

I wouldn't be surprised if they take Percat. The LDM seat is really just something for him to do until something better comes along.Interesting to see who Tekno goes with now. Thought Pye might have been their guy if Penske didn't retain him. With him gone, who's left? Reynolds, Slade, Moffat?
Refresh me, please? I can vaguely remember her saying she will at least attempt to run 2 cars, but she would run just the one if she can't afford 2 cars.Erebus is only running 1 car as announced by Betty in Inside Supercars,

I can see Wendy's staying on board, if they have the cash, but Penrite will probably be a one off thing. It was a while back, I may be referring to the very same vague memory, I dont see a second car coming along unless both of these sponsors stay onboard,
He did hit the cone on exit, but he did have to come awkwardly out of his pit box, from what I've seen. Was I and a handful of other people amongst other forums to see the #888 car hit the cone on pit lane exit during the race?
