The racing is good
Oh, I love it. I think these cars are fantastic - the right balance between speed and grip, but durable enough for the drivers to stick their elbows out in wheel-to-wheel combat. I really hope that the FIA can consolidate the new Formula 2 championship to create a clear path to Formula 1. One of the best things about MotoGP is the way they run Moto2 and Moto3 alongside the premier class, and treat them as World Championships in their own right, so you can follow young talent up through the ranks. That's what open-wheel racing needs, because the likes of domestic Formula 4, European Formula 3 and GP2 have some absolutely brilliant racing.

I'm hoping the Altimas and S60 feature in the top five for the rest of the season. They look good and aggressive like at Clipsal.

Davison almost ended ingalls race.

Aww, the #1 is damaged.

That's what really peeved me off. He's basically blamed all the industry experts (and Skaife, whom was interviewing him) for his "villain" tag despite it being himself that did it. Whincup has really made an even bigger fool of himself.

That really annoys me, no end. A least take responsibility for your actions instead of trying to put the blame on everyone else.

Ugh, terrible start from Luff.

DJRTP is reporting that rain could be imminent. That'll really spice things up if that's the case.

4 different brands in the top 4, and all 5 in the top 10. Nice to see a little variety up front after the PRA/RBRA dominance.

What on earth was PRA & Winterbottom thinking? Stupidity at it's finest... This will hurt Winterbottom in the championship.

The Gold Coast strikes again.

Is it just me, but has there been a severe lack of on-screen information during this round and Bathurst? It's pretty frustrating not knowing where your driver is.

It's like they didn't even tell Frosty that Tander was there. He's just gone straight out into the lane.

It's been like that all year. V8SC Media should having a rolling race standings at the bottom or top of the screen.

Winterbottom wasn't even looking ahead either. Too busy looking down at his steering wheel.

EDIT: PRA is having a ripper day. #6 and Waters have a pit lane penalty for spinning wheels in the pitstop.

I could've sworn we had that in previous rounds this year. But yeah, it's an essential thing to have.

HRT have played games to try and influence the championship before. Remember when Skaife kept blocking Lowndes at the Island a few years ago? It wouldn't surprise me if they deliberately short-fuelled Tander to baulk Winterbottom, knowing that PRA would try and place him behind Reynolds. That would force Winterbottom to wait in his bay, potentially putting him out onto the circuit behind Lowndes; at the very least, he would be just ahead of #888. If Tander comes in early, I think it will be a tell-tale sign of it. He's a dirty enough racer to be willing to do it.

I vote no more tyre bundles. It's just dumb. The Carrera Cup doesn't use them. This is race ending stuff.

We have it at times, but unfortunately not for the whole race and instead in small intervals of a few seconds.

Caruso/Fiore clobbered the kerb on the back straight.

But I know who to contact if I need heavy machinery.

Maybe the drivers should stay away from the bundles and not push the envelope far more than what is already allowed. Without the bundles, the chicane will just be straight lined even more than it is.

Probably not the best thing to be heard saying by Caruso
Really 🤬 attitude by Caruso. Why bother racing if that's your attitude to it. Disgraceful. You won't get anywhere if that's your attitude to racing.

I vote no more tyre bundles.
Then what will they use for a reference point going into the chicane? Remember what happened when they tried to use flexible bollards a few years ago? Race control had to keep sending out the safety car because the bollards were getting dislodged.
