Are V8's the only series in the world that stacks drivers on pit lane? Honestly one of the very few things I hate about this series.

Completely agree, it ruins peoples races for no good reason. They just need to close pit lane under safety car, only problem is what happens if the safety car comes out when they are almost out of fuel...

This is even worse for teams like Nissan who have 4 cars. You end up ruining 2 of your 4 car's races. Moffat was near top 10 until that Safety car, had to stack, finished 14th only because some cars took themselves out of the race near the end. And the whole Pye/Van Gisbergen pit crew sharing thing is just weird.

The Waters incident was well into the race and quite obvious whilst the Winterbottom incident was on the first lap and would take quote a bit to get to the bottom of, and you'd probably need to get driver opinions first.

You know when Mark Skate and Russell Ingall are agreeing on how ******** that one gets a penalty and the other doesn't is definitely dodgy

There was no clear footage of what happened to Frosty, plus there were 3-4 cars involved and it would have been a concertina effect whereas Cam clearly took James out while trying to defend from Tander. There's no way race control could make a judgement from the footage we saw for the first one so they would need to look at on-board footage to see who actually caused the incident.

Exactly.

PI would be a good circuit for that. just like the faster circuits earlier this year, the FG X is tops. If Pye and the Nissans have a weekend there like they did just then, all bets are off.

Great race, a lot of good action. Love seeing the guys go two wide through 10, 11, & 1. Coultard vs Lowndes made the hair on my neck stand up.

I was stoked to see Lowndes recovery, keeps the title fight alive. Reynolds still right in there too.

I was pulling for The Giz and Scotty...Giz got screwed by double stacking, fought back decently. Don't know what happened with the Volvo pit stops though, seems like they were having picnics.

My personal take on the Waters penalty is that was a bogus call. To me, thats a racing incedent. Courtney ran the weird outside line at the same time that Tander was inside. Tander basically escorted Waters right into JC's bumper, he had no where to go. Jame's line is what made the whole thing awkward. Other than coming to a complete stop, I don't knkw where Cam was supposed to go.

If you ask me, he got the penalty because of who he is, not because the incedent actually deserved one. Disappointing to see that from race control.

Edit: Ya, if you watch the replays, the onboard from Tanders car shows that Waters locks up the front just before contract. To avoid contact in that situation, Waters would have had to turn to his right, but couldn't because Tander was there.

They're all on the limit of grip, sliding around, 3 cars packed into 1 corner, and they give a drive through for contact. Bull 🤬 call. Garbage.

On a lighter note, I can't get enough of the Auz commentary.

"Oh I was being a bit of a pussy on the brakes there"

"Well that was rather second hand by both of them"

There was a few others that actuall made me

I think if you really want to analys what exactly went down there, one can easily put part of the blame on Courtney.

If it was three random cars, there's no story. But those 3 were going at it all race long, and two of the cars were HRT teamates.

I'me willing to bet Courtney ran the line he did deliberately to try to slow down Waters' exit speed in an attempt to help out Tander, and it ended up backfiring on him because everyone went in a little too deep.

I remember the other quote too, it was Frosty blatantly calling out Dale Wood

I don't think Courtney would have held up Waters for Tander's sake. As some of the commentators noted following the Gold Coast 600, they push each other on the track, but they don't particularly like each other.

Just caught up on the races. Man.. when Lowndes has a bad race or weekend, so does Frosty. When he has a good weekend or race, Frosty is right with him. Lowndes cant capitalize at the moment on Frostys misfortunes.

Great to see Red Bull back to their best, but its too little too late right. Waters did good I thought, even though he is inexperienced in the main game and had a few incidents he was quite good.

Reynolds is proving Rod Nash wrong but again its too little too late. It will be interesting to see how he goes at Erebus next year.

A few V8 drivers have appeared on the new FIA drivers license category list.

Winterbottom and Reynolds are Gold's
Percat,Pederson,Le Brocq, and Taz Douglas are rated Silvers.

No VanGizbergen? Thought he'd be on there for sure after doing the Blaincpain Endurance rounds this this year.

He is already on the list as a Gold, those guys are all new to the list.
Oh new, I must have missed that.

I dont know if T8 will let him race next year,
Ugh I hope that's not the case. The diversity of what he races (V8, GT3, Drift, and Time Attack) are why I like him as a driver. I would instantly dislike T8 if they prevent him from racing abroad.

Lots of other drivers jump across series. Niki Katsburg and Robin Frienz immediatlly come to mind.

So is Phelps, claiming that Waters will buy Reynolds out of his seat for $800,000 - but it just sounds like sour grapes from fanboys.
 Very funny

And here I thought nobody was allowed to use that word, in that context.

There is a difference between that and just supporting a guy. But you wouldn't know that...

Oh, I do know that. I also know that every time a fan-favourite driver gets replaced by another who is believed to be inferior, "pay driver" is the first, last and only refuge of those who refuse to acknowledge that the team might have a legitimate reason for letting that fan-favourite driver go.

I honestly don't care why PRA let Reynolds go, but all I know is that it is one of the stupidest decisions in recent memory. I'd be fine if they released him and he'd have been replaced by a better driver, but he isn't. He's being replaced by an immature, inexperienced rookie that has really only showed how good he is at driving dirty.

You're ignoring the way Reynolds knew he was being replaced a long time ago.
