Righty, that's my PS3 fixed. F you Sony, even you can't screw up a programmers system. Wouldn't boot at all. No picture even in safe mode. So I formatted HDD outside of the system. Then put it in, boots but wouldn't accept the latest update, so I took a shot and jail broke it. Got it started up. Then I just formatted using the actual systems tools to the latest update and a non jail broken system.
Might wait till Monday when I get my new internet before downloading all the GT5 update and GT Academy.

Good just the one to do then. Then I'll give the online another chance.
First opinions on the GT(6) Academy. The roll!! The new suspension took me by shock coming onto the straight at silverstone, nearly crashed there!
Also another thing, why do they insist on making us use "X and Square". That was the slowest I've ever driven on GT. The mix of the new suspension and buttons were crazy. Looks like ill have to stiffen up the suspension on the actual game. Every car feels like a boat. Felt like the leaf was going to roll over and I couldn't even top a ton! Them classics like the Schwimwagon will be hell.
The AI. I've unlocked but not played GT Academy yet but the AI up to that point. Please tell me that was on easy. No aids, including no ABS. DS3 yet still first every race by end of lap 1. Kinda worrying. Sad that the rabbit is back. I wanted some grid starts.
The UI is nice. Hopefully that's how the actual game will be. Easy to navigate. Boxes were inline too which was a major gripe I had towards Gran Turismo 5. The boxes wouldn't make sense. The cursor would jump all over the shop.
Graphics looks cool. Although I did notice a bit of screen tear coming round the penultimate corner at Autumn Ring Mini so not sure on that yet.
Anyway I'll give more thoughts as I get home. Oh also I like the new HUD. When ill use that I'll at least be ok with it. Turned it off race 2.

Andy you can turn ABS off in the GT6 demo 👍 . How does GT6 feel with your T500?I'm just looking forward to GT6 so I can drive without ABS once more.
It's because of the pressure of messing up your lap. While with the short sector tests, if you mess up then you've barely lost anything but if you mess up on the full timed lap then you could lose out on that laptime that could put you first within your region, or even worldwide (and believe me that's painful
). EDIT: My views on GT6:
[*]The new suspension model feels great and I have surprisingly adapted to it quite quickly. Being in control of your car's centre of gravity due to weight transfer becomes more crucial.
[*]Graphics have improved a little.
[*]Good UI.
[*]AI is still slow as ever like in GT5. However, PD stated that the full version will have improved AI.
[*]Car engine sound still are GT5-like, but apparently they are just "place-holders" and new car sounds will be in the full game (we hope).

My optimal time is 2:21.091. Which is 3.3 off my actual time. Which could be put down to pressure.
Jawehawks time is 2:19.837. His actual time is a 2:27.200. That's a big 7.5 odd seconds off. Even for A casual player that would be a big difference but I'd be sure Andy could keep his nerve more.

Forgot to mention. My time is 1.19:6xx but I'm aiming to cut 2 seconds off to bring it to 1:17 or less.
Jawehawk, I find that when you're actually trying to go fast, you end up being slower because you're braking much later than you should do, you're making the car's weight being transferred too quickly which upsets the balance, you're putting the power on too quickly and you miss 9 out of 10 apex points. All of the inputs need to be gradually increased when being used.

Thanks m8h. I'm not going to try too hard though, I don't want to accidentally qualify for national finals when I'm not even old enough to get a driver's license.
Spurgy's an alien driver; he'll find a way to top the world leaderboards soon 👍 .
He's like 0.250 off top. He said he's about 2 tenths off in the first sector. If he can work out where he's going different in that sector then he can nail that time.
I went through to gold each one. I think I could get down to around mattiem's pace. He's hit a 2.22.

The reason my full lap is a bit of a disaster, is that I've done a total of 2 serious laps for that event. I've been meaning to get back to it, but I just can't quite get myself to start it up. Not enough content for a demo...
All my other laps on that particular event has been for testing the physics and FFB, with no regard of the track boundaries. Have to say, it's very enjoyable.
The FFB has definately been improved, espicially when driving over curbs. However, It's still lacking proper FFB settings, like adjusting the amount of force required to turn the wheel, etc.
Again. Driving without ABS with a brake balance of 5:5 is completely ridicules. Not going to do that. So will have to use ABS in the demo.

I have got a silver in all tests, was quite pleased with that But on the full lap I just managed a bronze, sometimes can be a little tricky if you leave the track. Will try do a little better later.
What I have found though is I have to be a little smoother than GT5. Over all feel is much better, even with pad.
Has anyone seen the ducks flying, on Autumn Ring, when you watch the replay?

Yeah, I think I recall a rabbit somewhere too. Something went along the floor next to my car. Don't remember what track though.

Two weeks ago i saw a duck, she wasn't flying... just standing still on the middle part of the left lane on the highway where i was driving...
I couldn't avoid the duck so i ran over her, the bad thing was there were a bunch of her ducklings with her at the side of the road. I don't know if they ended up as orphans. I saw the duck running back to the side in the rear mirror.I managed to knock off 1 sec of my best time, so i'm now at 2:21:6. Maybe another 0,5 -1 sec is possible for me, but thats about it. Plus the weather is way to good to be sitting inside and knowing that i never can get in the top 10 ranking.

If you have a look about on the forums a few of the top guys have posted videos with helpful hints. Good lines and stuff.
