Sorry, not much of a motorcycle guy. :)

And to M8h3r. Here's a possible fix for your PS3.

"Sony has also issued step-by-step instructions for those affected by the faulty 4.45 firmware, detailing the process to download the firmware file manually from a computer and then installing it on the PS3 in safe mode via a USB stick.

Sony's full instructions for manually applying the 4.46 firmware are reproduced below:

Step 1: Manually Download System Software
•You will need a USB Mass Storage device such as a USB flash drive with at least 168 MB of free space. If your PS3 is either CECHA00/CECHB00 series model, you can also use Memory Stick™, SD Memory Card, and CompactFlash®.
•Create a folder named “PS3” on the storage media or USB device.
•Within the PS3 folder, create a folder named "UPDATE".
•Using your computer, click the following hyperlink to begin downloading system software 4.46
•Download the update data from the webpage and save it in the "UPDATE" folder.
•Location: Save in the “PS3” folder > “UPDATE” folder
•File name: Save as file name “PS3UPDAT.PUP”
•Note: If the data is not saved in the correct way, the PS3 will not recognize the update data. The folder name must be in all uppercase letters.

Step 2: Activate Safe Mode
•With the PS3 off (power light should be red), touch and hold the Power button, you will hear the 1st beep indicating that the PS3 is powering on.
•Continue to hold the power button, and after approximately 5 seconds you will hear a 2nd beep.
•Continue to hold the power button and after 5 more seconds you'll hear a 3rd beep, and system will power off (Power light goes red).
•Release power button.
•Touch and hold the Power button, you will hear the 1st beep, again for PS3 power on.
•Continue to hold and after approximately 5 seconds you will hear the 2nd beep for video reset.
•Continue to hold and after 5 seconds you will hear a quick double beep. At that point release power button.
•If you succeeded in activating Safe Mode, you will see a message on screen saying, "Connect the controller using a USB cable and then press the PS button".
•Connect a controller to the PS3 with a USB cable.
•If you were not able to get into Safe Mode, your system may need service. Please contact [Sony] for further assistance.

Step 3: Manually Update PS3 Software
•Connect the storage media to PS3 system.
•Select [6 - System Update] and Press X.
•Please note: Data and settings may be deleted if you choose any of the first (5) options. Please make sure to only choose option [6 - System Update].
•Press Start and Select at the same time.
•The PS3 system will restart and recognizes the update file in the storage media.
•Press right on the d-pad to scroll through the update description and user agreement.
•Press X to confirm the update.
•The system will now install the new system software and restart automatically upon completion.

That sounds really good.

Sorry, not much of a motorcycle guy.

Then watch it blind folded :), i'm sure you like the engine sound.

Have you guys listened to the (renault) F1 engine that will be used next year?

I need to invent a time machine so i can go back to the 80's/90's and enjoy the cars/music of those era's. To see/hear the 787B take the win at Le Mans and watch Ayrton Senna battling it out with Alain Prost. Not to mention the mighty Group B rally cars.... And that the Paris - Dakar actually takes place in France and Africa. And visit concerts of metallica :), Rage against the Machine and Queen too while i'm at it. And kill Justin Bieber's mother. Good old days :).

Thanks for trying Jawehawk but it's completely knackered. Won't even turn on now. Don't know whether it was the update or what but something did a number on the system. Anyway I have to get a new PS3. Ill claim on the warranty and be sorted.

Won't get one for a month though because it means I've got to download everything! Again. However I'm updating my Internet on July 15th to 70 (average) MB!

Then I'll get a PS3. Download all my updates and stuff.

I will say that the motorcycle sounds better than the Audi R18 LMP or the current day Formula One cars. :)

Your not having any luck with your PS3s, are you m8h3r:( I've only had two PS3s, first played PS2 games, hard drive broke, got a new one, no problems, been really good.:)

No worries Andy if all liked the same thing, it would be boring world:tup: I have seen repro versions racing, but the real factory bikes are louder.

Thats quite a good sound, also MattieM, sounds like it is on a test rig.

I would go to see Barry Sheen, Mike Hailwood and Giacomo Agostini, if I had a time machine.

So I was thinking that we should do a track day tomorrow evening to celebrate the GT6 demo comming on tuesday. Any takers?

Yes I'll come to track day:) What will we get in the demo:idea:

I think Silverstone is pretty much confirmed to be in the demo. And as far as I know, the only cars availible will be Nissan's.

Sorry M8h3r. :)

Yeah, Silverstone is like the home of the European GT Academy. I'd be highly surprised if it wasn't included.

Did anyone turn up?

Yeah, Mattie and I had a blast.

Downloading the GT6 demo now!

Edit: After haven driven all the 3 cars in the demo (Nissan Leaf, 370Z and GT-R '12 I can safely say that the new physics and body roll mechanics are AMAZING! The 370Z is mad fun to drive on Silverstone, and Autumn Ring, Grand Valley and Suzuka East definately look better. Absolutely love the UI and the music is great.

Only downsides thus far is that the AI is abysmal at this stage. Also would like to have a free run option in the demo. And you can't change Brake Bias, which makes driving without ABS pretty much impossible.

When I first started going without ABS I didn't know you could alter brake balance. That's when I stopped trying to play without it cause that was just dreadful.

Did anyone turn up?

I did, plus a few random people. It was fun indeed, i can never get bored with the Nordschleife i think :). Somehow i managed to get Andy sliding sideways into the pit entrance. The result was the same as in this short clip (as from 0:50 sec, though the first part isn't too bad to look at either :)):

I haven't tried the demo yet, maybe this evening...

Sorry didn't come trackday, wasn't very well:grumpy:

Tracks, cars, really look good:tup: Tried to drive without ABS, hard, with no brake bias. Having to use some traction control on the Silverstone tests, but just a couple of clicks.

Al is rubbish. What's the UI:dopey:

UI stands for User Interface. So it's the menu. :)
And what a great menu design it is.

Driving without ABS isn't that hard on GT6, doesn't feel much different to driving without ABS on GT5. It just feels a little more touchy, that's all.

The problem is the lack of brake balance adjustment. 5:5 is absolute 🤬 to drive with, and is by no means realistic. You simply wouldn't be competitive what so ever if you were to drive without ABS on that BB. I'm sure it wil be fine in the full game, where brake balance will be adjustable.

It's is possible with practice, there's a guy I raced with who was very fast, he uses 4 4 brake bias with no abs. He said he uses the brakes to turn in then very little steering so he is able to get back on the power very quickly. Difficult but not impossible.

I find it just that little touch harder, didn't seem to matter with the Leaf, but the others yes:nervous:

It's like driving online with ABS, with brake 5:5.

Are shuffle races set at 5:5?

The problem with 5:5 is that the rear brakes seem to lock before the front ones do and it's usually the other way around in real life.

Yes, shuffle races are set at 5:5 but if you have a DFGT or enabled RA dial adjustment with your controller/other steering wheel then you can change it.

Rear brakes do lock before the front , this is because a lot of weight is transferred to the front and there's very little contact patch on the rear. Hence why most cars have larger brakes at the front axle.
