The damage is now just getting stupid, but in keeping with how the developer manages the game, I lost 3rd place in daily race c because 4th hit me into a barrier, I rejoined well clear of 5th even allowing for the barrier penalty I collected - because the damage to the car was so extreme I finished 8th, no steering, no engine….

I heard they upped the damage after a feisty GT World Series event got out of hand with the elite drivers - if there was a fit for purpose penalty system perhaps damage could have been left alone but no, because a few misbehaved let’s punish everyone…. The damage is another reason why this is heading towards the exit in my playlist

Barely grazing a wall with the force equivalent of a goose feather falling on your arm from a height of 5 feet resulting in your car getting damaged is pretty wonky to be sure.

No... this is a terrible quote along with the no longer a gap one from Senna... Motorsport is a no contact sport, you obviously didn't watch the Racing Etiquette "WHAT IS SPORTSMANSHIP?" video in GT7
You are correct Motorsport is meant to be a non contact sport but you see it all the time, 99.9% it’s accidental but on those occasions where contact is used to gain an advantage it invariably brings a penalty in some way. For GT7 (and Sport) the game doesn’t get the balance right. The reasoning why Polyphony do what they do is something we would agree with but their execution is poor, motorsport is a contact sport but judging what’s fair unfair is something the game gets wrong too often

They now fixed the obnoxious damage sensitivity.

You also seem to be less likely to receive a penalty from smashing into a wall. I had like a dozen hits that would've gotten me a penalty pre-1.25 (Tokyo 600)
not sure why I said Tokyo 800

But there is still damage, right? I quite like having damage on and didn't mind the damage sensitivity. It was good in multiplayer but I can see how it can be seen as too harsh for singleplayer.

This is why I won't post the glitch tunes I come across. There's are some serious ones in my list, we're talking cutting PP in half. They'll more than make up for this latest PP adjustment. I won't post them because then everyone will have something nerfed if they go viral.
If it's minor, then OK. One of my 2J tunes awards one PP less for using RM tires than RH tires, but the RM's wear out so much faster. I posted that tune.
As for other drivers if they do something stupid or the officials start handing out unwarranted penalties, you bet I'm going to smash other cars into the walls and push them off the track. In a 1 hour Spa race yesterday the officials threw on a half second penalty just out of the blue. I cut the S Bend after Kimmel to make up for it. Now 10 seconds. I took that and cut the final chicane from pretty far back. 22 seconds. It was absolutely pouring rain, so I turned my car sideways across the road at the penalty line and EVERYONE did 22 seconds under a yellow flag.
I wound up winning that race with a CRB, but trust me, it was quite the demolition derby. On top of that, since I won by 39 seconds, I cut the final chicane again on my last lap, on purpose. There wasn't a thing the officials could do about it.
I don't play online. I may run enough races to get both trophies but that's it and I won't play for any other kind of prize.

Back to what it was so back to wall riding etc so instead of little tune sensitivity they go with opposite direction (as for PD concept of moderation/center is not known)
