Wallbanger's 1st annual million credit FF Summer Shootout!(6/19/11 final 7/17/11)

Yesterday? Oh the darling comment? I took no offense at all to this. I'm more than happy to give someone else the experience of what most people only get to experience on the game. And I'm doing this all from an iPhone so I have no edit or quote buttons. Sorry for snapping on u I'm Just overly tired... Overworked... And as faras running a baseline run, I DID do a stock run which I posted... Right bout 2:21. So he shaved 16 secs off with his tune. But as I said there is more to be had.

Hey, it's ok! No problem!

I just want to help and sometimes it sounds a bit harsh and is sometimes a bit hard to understand, but I'm usually a nice guy (Am I?).

Ok 2:21 is a good baseline to compare.

(Oh and we on GTP are using some words in an other meaning: tune=setup; stock=(in 95% of all cases)without setup, but with the same tuning parts.) Hope this helps.

I think i've buyed and tuned more than 15 FF cars to check one to compete with Honda Integra DC5. But nothing come close till now (no FTO GPX).
The good thing is that i've discover some good cars to drive, slower but good driving feeling.
Alfa 147 GTA '02 // GTV 3.0 V6 24V '01
Mazda atenza sport 23Z '03
Acura CL 3.2 Type S '01
Volvo ST60 T-5 sport '03 ( for me the more close of integra on GVS)
Peugeot 207 GTI '07

All are very good to drive ,Alfa romeo are greats......

No. Stock is stock, "default" is all parts installed but settings all on, well, default.

Par.63 I'm running your car tonight( the one u have posted) so stand by... And slump, no offense taken. I understand most of the lingo ( I think). I won't run any car with the parts but not I will do a stock one...

Ahh, almost nobody calls it default. When somebody makes a review and says "compared with stock", he usually means compared to default settings.

Okay!

Well to put it to rest, I won't run the cars with the parts installed without the tuners specs...seems like. Waste and counter productive. For my own amusement I may or may not run the car in "showroom stock" condition. I can post THAT upon request. Side note: In SCCA racing"showroom stock" is a class that refers to cars right out of the box. Just some general knowledge .

Just as general note if I ever say a car is stock I mean the car is in the same state that I got it from the dealer. Only things I will do to a stock car is a break in and oil change for a new car or engine overhaul and chassis tightning for a used car. This makes it easy to know the baseline I'm working from and also simplifies my explanations of certain builds/tunes I might do.
Example: I took the stock BMW M5 '05 from the UCD and after an engine rebuild and chassis tightening gave it all engine upgrades and a set of race soft tires. Everything else remained stock on the vehicle. (Note I actually did do this and use it to grind the Supercar Eifel race. Keeping the rear end under control even with RS tires is a great way to learn throttle control and the car is a blast to drive.)

Hmm, ok. It's just that some people mean with parts, without setup, when they say stock. That's just my experience here on GTP. You can see it in lots of reviews. I know what stock actually means, of course.

It's cool, I'm not arguing. I will be specific in my application. Maybe I'll just eliminate it all together, unless it's requested.

Wasn't really talking to you but to XDesperado.

But ok, nice to hear!

Does anyone know if chassis reinforcement increases understeer?

It certainly cnan induce understeer, yes. Any over tightening of a FF car can make it push. I've found that it's application specific. But to be safe I'd stay way from it on FF and awd cars.

Why do you think that nobody can drive this car?

Yeah.

@ Raver, it's one driver, we are aiming to get multiple drivers testing so hopefully the Tune can get a tester that the Tuning style caters to the driving style. Don't sweat any one time, wait until you see what he does with a few other entries to see how it fairs up. It still might be the quickest for that tester.

The car can be fixed with one major tweak, and a couple minor tweaks... The car can be competitive... Do some research and fix it. DONT GIVE UP!!!

I´ve seen the times the testers drove.
10 laps for a 2:05.5 , 2:04.4 and sins1er´s 2:05.0.
Not even 1 time under 2:04.
I needed 2 laps to get under 2:04 (see Post #115)

Well, I'm running 1:59.XXX times with my car (Adrenaline too with his one). Is my car the best? Not for sure!
I depends on many things: driving style, skills, likes, etc.

And the times the testers drove doesn't show the max possible with your tune. They'll retest it when every tune is submitted (2. July).

Exactly, slump! This is the part of the challenge that concerned me. Driving style/preference and skill level. But I think by the end of it it I'll be apparent if there is driver that is just terrible... Heck, maybe it'll be me, ya know? For example, my brother and I feed off eachother, we are trying for the best time on the ring right now with a corvette. I started with a 7:26, the he ripped a 7:23, then I got down to a a 7:15 or something, etc. It'll take time and I'll revisit your car to be consistent. If u make changes let us know and we will re-test. It ain't over til it's over, lil homey.

Times don't tell a lot! I am not under 2 minutes yet, hope I can make it soon, but there are other drivers, that will never reach a time under 2 min!

Best time for me so far is a 2:03.xxx I know that I am terribly inconsistent on the sport softs, and am sure some of the drivers will get me lower times.
On that note, I'll be releasing the "solar eclipse" tune tonight, or in the morning.
Also... I only had the 99 fto... Could have sworn I had the other one.

I love love love the M5... It may be my next purchase..

Haven't tried it with the newer M5 from NCD yet, just the '05 from UCD. 708 HP makes it a bit squirley :dopey: even with the RS but that suspension has got to be the best factory suspension I've driven in game.

Back on topic here's a few more cars worth a look from the tuners even though they weren't selected as one of my "Dirty Dozen".
Honda CIVIC Type R (EP) '01 (UCD) Very fast, can be almost perfectly balanced at 500PP and makes 400HP and 240 ft/lb torque.
Honda CR-X Del Sol SIr '92 (UCD) I almost included this underdog in my Dozen. Full modifications to it brings it up to a whopping 480 PP, but 325 HP and 198 ft/lb torque are enough to send its 936 kg up over 150 on the straight at Grand Valley Speedway.
Toyota Celica SS-II(ST202) '97 (UCD) 499PP Fully modified. Very fast. 372 HP, 267 ft/lb torque and 1023 kg weight.

I have driven your car under 2:04. I won't say how far under. But under 2:04 it is.
