Odd I've been buying FF cars like crazy. I have most of the FTOs and duplicates of several...of course the one FTO we need is the one I don't have yet!
Okay as promised a few days ago I'm going to give you a list of my "Dirty Dozen". These are the cars that I'm doing continuing testing and tuning on. I'll announce one of these as my contender in the FF Summer Shootout in a couple of days. Hopefully this motivates those who have not chosen their car yet to think a little outside the box as I feel all of these as well as many others could be strong contenders with the right tune. So in no particular order with notes from the Outlaw Motorsports Garage's own Skunk Works here they are.
Code named "Don Juan" the Alfa Romeo GT 3.2 V6 24V '04 (found in the UCD) Don't let its weight put you off, with 393 HP and 331 ft/lb of torque it can get going in a real hurry and handles the curves surprisingly well. Classic Italian lines in a hot hatch makes it easy on the eye as well.
Code named "Mjolner" the Volvo S60 T-5 Sport '03 (found in the UCD) Thor would approve of this hammer. Yes its one of the largest and heaviest FFs around, however Harvey Wallbanger has been using its 420 HP and 356 ft/lb of torque to set some of his fastest lap times.
Code named "Exocet" the Renaultsport Megane Renault Sport '08 (found in the NCD) Another relative heavyweight this French missile exploits its 407HP and 356 ft/lb of torque to explode around the track.
Code named "Charleigmaine" the Peugeot 206 RC '03 (found in the UCD) a relative lightweight at 944 Kg this emperor uses agility along with its 345 HP and 246 ft/lb of torque to tear up the track.
Code named "Cyrino" the Citroën C4 Coupe 2.0 VTS '05 (found in the NCD) Sleek lines mark this explosive hot hatch that uses its 406 HP and 310 ft/lb torque to muscle its slightly pudgy form around the track.
Code named "Wolf, as in a wolf in sheep's clothing" the Acura CL 3.2 Type-S '01 (found in the UCD) Nothing special to look at this rather large and heavy 2 door sedan is very deceptive. If you think Chevy Corvette and Holden Commodore, then replace the Corvette with Honda NSX and the Commodore with this Acura you start to get the picture. Designed to compete with BMW 3series and Mercedes CLKs its normally asperated 419 HP and 325 ft/lb of torque insure that its up to the challenge.
Code named "Matador" the Seat Ibiza Cupra '04 (found in the UCD) With a body designed by a man responsible for several Alfa Romeo designs, this lightweight Spanish bullfighter is arguably the best looking hot hatch around.
340 HP and 269 ft/lb of torque insure that this 1000 kg car doesn't just look stylish.
Code named "DMZ" the Hyundai Tiburon GT '01 (found in the UCD) This kimchi and soju powered beast from the land of the morning calm, is possibly the fastest car we've tested on Grand Valley's straight, 400 HP and 330 ft/lb torque see to that.
Code Named "Excalibur" the Vauxhall Vectra 3.2 V6 '03 (found in the UCD) Surprisingly light, considering its a 4door sedan, it calls upon 386 HP and 356 ft/lb of torque to deliver amazing results.
Code named "Concentrator" the Ford Focus RS '02 (found in the UCD) A longtime favorite of ours having used one to win the Supercar Festival race at Eifel, our only question had been which of the 3 Focus models we had available to us to include in the "Dirty Dozen". Ultimately we decided to stay with the Focus RS '02 because of our standing familiarity with it and a slightly better weight distribution at this PP level. 353 HP and 331 ft/lb torque don't disappoint.
Code name "Samurai" the Mazda Atenza Sport 25Z '07 (found in the NCD) Another superheavyweight, 418+ HP and 320 ft/lb of torque keep this 4door in the running.
Code named ":Terminator" the Mitsubishi.Mirage Cyborg ZR '97 (found in UCD) The smallest of all the cars to make it this far in testing, its extreme nature makes this a blast to drive. 354 HP and 221 ft/lb torque in a 900 kg body, means this is one terminator prepared to hunt down its rivals.
Well there you have it Harvey Wallbanger's "Dirty Dozen". Enjoy hunting these gems down. I'll let you all know in a couple of days which of the "Dirty Dozen" is Outlaw Motorsports Garages entry into this years FF Summer Shootout.
Until next time...As Harvey Wallbanger always says...
Drive hard and have fun!
P.S. For any tuners that are interested I have extras of most of my "Dirty Dozen" that I'd be happy to gift to someone. The extras are still in the same condition as bought from the UCD i.e. no rebuild or oil changes.
