Wallbanger's 1st annual million credit FF Summer Shootout!(6/19/11 final 7/17/11)

...and maybe if the winner is in the Midwest they could come drive one of my cars in a live NASA event... Just throwing that out there.

Good job mate! You're now officially everyone's darling! đź‘Ť;)

I guess if yer willing to come to Ohio it could be for the top tuner and driver, wouldn't cost any more to switch drivers in the middle of an event. I still need someone to walk me through how to gain access to the vehicles and get started on this thing... I have no idea about the OLR portion of this game.
We can share the cars. Just add the tuners in PSN and borrow the car. (Community; click X on the right PSN-ID; Garage; tada!)

@ slump- lmao... Of course it will be at my discretion if I don't trust yer a POS you can ride along or something... Not like I'm racing 911's or anything. I have a miata spec racer, and a Honda civic racer as well, both caged, with aero, coilovers and sticky rubber. They ain't pretty but they are fast

Well……yes, you are, but since all there's been in the pass……10 (?) pages was banter and more test drivers entering, the actual testing of cars will be quite a while away…

I might have missed this but are tuner cars allowed?
Sorry if this has already been discussed.

Yes its been discussed several times already, and the answer is that it depends on the tuner car in question.

Suggest you scan back a few pages and read the latest discussion on this topic.

Been scanning through the UCD and that FTO is still hiding. I think my PS3 is pissed at me for loading so many license tests. :D If/when I find it I will share it after I've run around the track. I'm not sure how many people can borrow a car at one time but something is better than nothing I suppose.

I am having exactly this experience. Between all of us, hopefully we'll find a few for next week!

Testing ravers dc5 in a minute, just want to let you know your PP was a couple points too high according to my machine for some reason. I had to back off to 363 hp and ad 5 kilos. No biggie

Perhaps you should update the OP with whats allowed and whats not đź‘Ť
Anyway i found what i was looking for and it seems i can use the car i have choosen.
Oh btw i asked if you could put me down as a tuner a few pages back. Only if theres still room that is. Thanks mate

OK, the first car I tried wasn't nearly fast enough so I might try something else. I was trying the Mirage Cyborg R if you are so inclined...I might try something European instead.

Hmmm…I think there were a few FTO's in my UCD before I left, so I might be able to help you out there…

Odd I've been buying FF cars like crazy. I have most of the FTOs and duplicates of several...of course the one FTO we need is the one I don't have yet!:boggled:

Okay as promised a few days ago I'm going to give you a list of my "Dirty Dozen". These are the cars that I'm doing continuing testing and tuning on. I'll announce one of these as my contender in the FF Summer Shootout in a couple of days. Hopefully this motivates those who have not chosen their car yet to think a little outside the box as I feel all of these as well as many others could be strong contenders with the right tune. So in no particular order with notes from the Outlaw Motorsports Garage's own Skunk Works here they are.
Code named "Don Juan" the Alfa Romeo GT 3.2 V6 24V '04 (found in the UCD) Don't let its weight put you off, with 393 HP and 331 ft/lb of torque it can get going in a real hurry and handles the curves surprisingly well. Classic Italian lines in a hot hatch makes it easy on the eye as well.
Code named "Mjolner" the Volvo S60 T-5 Sport '03 (found in the UCD) Thor would approve of this hammer. Yes its one of the largest and heaviest FFs around, however Harvey Wallbanger has been using its 420 HP and 356 ft/lb of torque to set some of his fastest lap times.
Code named "Exocet" the Renaultsport Megane Renault Sport '08 (found in the NCD) Another relative heavyweight this French missile exploits its 407HP and 356 ft/lb of torque to explode around the track.
Code named "Charleigmaine" the Peugeot 206 RC '03 (found in the UCD) a relative lightweight at 944 Kg this emperor uses agility along with its 345 HP and 246 ft/lb of torque to tear up the track.
Code named "Cyrino" the Citroën C4 Coupe 2.0 VTS '05 (found in the NCD) Sleek lines mark this explosive hot hatch that uses its 406 HP and 310 ft/lb torque to muscle its slightly pudgy form around the track.
Code named "Wolf, as in a wolf in sheep's clothing" the Acura CL 3.2 Type-S '01 (found in the UCD) Nothing special to look at this rather large and heavy 2 door sedan is very deceptive. If you think Chevy Corvette and Holden Commodore, then replace the Corvette with Honda NSX and the Commodore with this Acura you start to get the picture. Designed to compete with BMW 3series and Mercedes CLKs its normally asperated 419 HP and 325 ft/lb of torque insure that its up to the challenge.
Code named "Matador" the Seat Ibiza Cupra '04 (found in the UCD) With a body designed by a man responsible for several Alfa Romeo designs, this lightweight Spanish bullfighter is arguably the best looking hot hatch around.
340 HP and 269 ft/lb of torque insure that this 1000 kg car doesn't just look stylish.
Code named "DMZ" the Hyundai Tiburon GT '01 (found in the UCD) This kimchi and soju powered beast from the land of the morning calm, is possibly the fastest car we've tested on Grand Valley's straight, 400 HP and 330 ft/lb torque see to that.
Code Named "Excalibur" the Vauxhall Vectra 3.2 V6 '03 (found in the UCD) Surprisingly light, considering its a 4door sedan, it calls upon 386 HP and 356 ft/lb of torque to deliver amazing results.
Code named "Concentrator" the Ford Focus RS '02 (found in the UCD) A longtime favorite of ours having used one to win the Supercar Festival race at Eifel, our only question had been which of the 3 Focus models we had available to us to include in the "Dirty Dozen". Ultimately we decided to stay with the Focus RS '02 because of our standing familiarity with it and a slightly better weight distribution at this PP level. 353 HP and 331 ft/lb torque don't disappoint.
Code name "Samurai" the Mazda Atenza Sport 25Z '07 (found in the NCD) Another superheavyweight, 418+ HP and 320 ft/lb of torque keep this 4door in the running.
Code named ":Terminator" the Mitsubishi.Mirage Cyborg ZR '97 (found in UCD) The smallest of all the cars to make it this far in testing, its extreme nature makes this a blast to drive. 354 HP and 221 ft/lb torque in a 900 kg body, means this is one terminator prepared to hunt down its rivals.

Well there you have it Harvey Wallbanger's "Dirty Dozen". Enjoy hunting these gems down. I'll let you all know in a couple of days which of the "Dirty Dozen" is Outlaw Motorsports Garages entry into this years FF Summer Shootout.

Until next time...As Harvey Wallbanger always says...
Drive hard and have fun!:cheers::gtpflag:

P.S. For any tuners that are interested I have extras of most of my "Dirty Dozen" that I'd be happy to gift to someone. The extras are still in the same condition as bought from the UCD i.e. no rebuild or oil changes.

Very good choices there. Thinking out of the box... Wondering when someone was gonna use one of the bigger acuras... And the cyborg? Good call, classic. Acura themselves used a tsx as their touring car in the ustcc... Just saying...

Mazda used the first gen 6 as their touring car as well.

Also interesting to see the car I'm using pop up in Desperado's Dirty Dozen.

Edit: 2 things sins1er: First is that the mods don't like posting twice in a row and will yell at you sooner or later to use the edit button. Second I think times posted would be best either sent to XDes or withheld until the tune deadline of July 2nd.

Nice list Desperado. I'm looking forward to seeing your final choice. The Volvo and the Peugeot sound great.

So am I posting times here??

Feel free to give a short review here of any cars you test. However for the sake of what little sanity I have left please either send me a PM here on GTP or else an email at rook67@live.com, if emailing me mark subject as FF shootout times. Either way include the tuners name and your best time in the body of the message. Since several tuners are using the same car simply telling me the car will not suffice.

Ok, well, here it goes... To preface this, I will explain my methodology.it will be the same for all chassis tested and is also how I shake down cars in real life. I will do ten (10) hot laps. (sans any laps where I made a mistake)... If I continually get better laps I will go until I can't push the car any further without red lapping ( DQ). If after ten laps I max the car, I'm done. (which will only happen if the car has fundamental flaws).
With further adieu, I give you my first shake down...
Tuner: raver
Car: dc5 integra
Laps driven: 11
Final time: 2:05.021

Review- this car has MAJOR chassis and gearing issues that prevents grip exiting turns. Some vital parts are strangely absent, considering they have no effect on over all PP. Although it turned decent times, it took some SERIOUS work to get them, and there is ALOT left on the table.

Just out of curiosity: How fast are your "stock" (with tuning parts, just without the setup) times?

Correction, (sorry don't mean to post twice) it was 2:21 WITHOUT mods. Wing only. Sorry misread your comment. I didn't run the car not to this tuners specifications. No need.

You don't mean to post twice, but you do? There's an "Edit" button next to the "Quote" one on the right bottom of your post. You must understand that this is to your own advantage. It's not that I want to annoy you.

I mean with the same tuning parts just without the drive train, submission setup.....

Ok, have you already tested another setup?

Don't be a dick, it was a correction on my part, I misread the statement. And no. I didn't get home from work till 0130 last night and I'm back at it today at 0630. I tested one car, and I'll test another tonight. Have YOU tested the car? Are u doubting my abilities? Cuz that's the vibe I'm getting here. Let me assure you, I've played this game from day one, I know what works and what doesn't. I've also driven and tuned several integras, civics, golfs, miatas, mustangs, 240s, stealths...etc in my 24 years of racing... Tell u what, go ahead, drive it " UNofficially" if yer gonna tune. Prove me wrong...

God.......You completely misunderstand me!

It's just that the mods don't like to see double posts and I wanted to help you to avoid problems. I told you that it would be to your own advantage to use the "Edit" button in future.

I asked you about your time without the tune to find out what an improvement the tune does. I just wanted to know the difference, nothing else. I was never doubting your abilities.

Great when you've driven and tuned some cars and played the GT series from the beginning. Shows that you've a big experience with these things, but that was never my point.

"UNofficially"
Well, I see you didn't like my comment, I did yesterday(?). It wasn't meant to be serious, the ;) should show this. Big sorry, if you misunderstood that. I think it's a great offer from your side. It's very kindly.

EDIT: When I "strike" something, I mean that I made a fault. It's like: "Never mind". I use the stroke because I usually stand to what I said, even when it's wrong.
