Wallbanger's 1st annual million credit FF Summer Shootout!(6/19/11 final 7/17/11)

Nahh, mine does exactly the same! I'm not sure why.....sometimes it's there, but it disappears as fast as it came.......
(I think it's some mystical conspiratorial crazy sh**....)

people who play G27 on PC resolve this setting a little gap at the inicial braking setting.. But with no install CD on PS3 no settings like this:grumpy:

The only issue with the DFGF (aside from noisy straight cut gears) is the Pedals are horrible. The Helical gears in the G2X wheels are much smoother and more quiet. On the G2X wheels when the pedals are working it's better then the DFGT, but not by much.

They need to start considering adding FFB to the brake pedal (if they haven't already). Simulate fade etc.

I've just been playing GT with the controller since the first one. I'm reluctant to change.

I wouldn't get a wheel if I were you, it will have GT consume you even more than it already has. This is my Second DFGT, drove the first till it broke. For the first few months of GT5 I didn't have a replacement yet. It still fun, had a blast, but as it did for Prologue, the wheel takes GT to the next level. DFGT is cheap too. The G2X wheels are a tough on the expensive side.

That sounds alright. Is it supported? And has it got 900 degrees rotation?

I hear the Thrust Master is off the hook but crazy expensive.

Yes it is supported according to their site (fanatec). I am going to be ordering one, does anybody here have on-hand experience with it?

One of the guys in the WRS just got one I think, and he likes it pretty fantastically.

CyKosis
The majority of my lap times comprise of this maintaining speed, braking as little as possible, and minimising my inputs. It's not entirely possible for me to replicate how I normally drive because I use a controller. If I had a wheel and pedals, I'd probably do some of these cars better justice than I have.

Someone posted a video here, not sure who, but I noticed on the lefthander after the first hairpin, they lifted on the accelerator. For me, in every car I've driven here, this is a flat-out corner, no lifting, no brakes. This is exactly the sort of thing that cumulatively over an entire lap will cost tenths of a second and more.
I can't take that second corner full throttle in at least half these cars, it's been making a big difference for the ones that can vs those that can't. But I suppose yanking the wheel might help me make them full-throttle, but it'd slow the car down.
But it sounds like you're approaching everything right,
minimizing my inputs
Which is what it's all about after all. Of course, minimizing inputs while putting as much input as possible is what we're after.
Twelve years I waited without a wheel, you could say I regret not getting one sooner, but you'd be making an understatement.

Very cool. I am pretty excited to be honest, DS3 drives me nuts lol. I have been using the triggers for gas and braking, sensitivity at max just to get by. Doing hotlaps can be a nightmare lol.

I like how all the reviews so far on my EP3 are complaint free. Its so refreshing haha. I know im not the best tuner but apparently I make cars fun to drive! :D

Uhm...nobody complains about plain vanilla icecream either...

That's why man invented Soy Ice Cream, dairy free you know. ;)

From the parent of a formerly lactose intolerant child. :)

That's my experience also, but also why there is a reason to not like vanilla ice-cream.:dopey:

On topic. mafia_boy, I just shot you a FR. Would you mind adding me for the weekend? Need to borrow the GME cars.

The G27 is perfect, the only problem is that you can't use it totaly with PS3/GT5. But the basics settings are greats.
One more thing is a bad electric contact with the brake. It brake a few and slow the car . Need to project some spray inside, it help but don't resolve for a long time. Always do it again at the worst moment. Generaly when i have to pass dr_slump. :):):indiff:

One set of my DFP pedals (have 2 different DFPs, one is mostly kinda broken, other I bought like-new for $20) has the brake stick a bit at times, one set has the throttle go funky as well, though it seems to have cleared up.

I'm looking for some basics tools to pass the brake on the clutch that i will never use and see if it's fixed after that.

No probs, will add you the second I turn the PS3 on. 👍

Lol from lap times to wheels to dairy in two pages. You guys are crazy haha. Btw I use a g25 no problems with it although I have a few complaints. There is a dead zone between 10 and 2 with the steering, usually feels as if there is no feeling. The gear shift either in in sequential or six speed feels a little loose. And the pedals could be a tad firmer. It is a very good wheel don't get me wrong and if you manage to find one in good condition you're golden. Everything that annoys me with the wheel can be addressed though. If you check youtube for videos by chilicoke. He drives with a g27 that he has modified himself. He also posts videos of how to do the modifications yourself and also sells some of the products. With my steering it kinda sucks there aren't advanced settings for the g25/g27 wheels so I usually drive with simulation steering and power steering off. Vibration is usually at 5. With the lower powered cars this setting works for me but I find that depending on the track with the higher powered vehicles this setting makes it sometimes difficult to maintain control of the wheel. if anyone is thinking of getting a wheel I strongly recommend it.

It's disappointing to see this fly so far off-topic. I imagine it can't be very inviting for those of us sitting on the sidelines, wondering how the actual tuning is panning out ;).

Keep it on topic, guys - that was nearly a page! :)

See what happens when you lock a bunch of people into the same room for 4 years?

Yea guys…tsk tsk tsk…… :D

As if you're innocent. :P

My connection drops and I miss all the fun stuff:crazy:

However back on topic how are all the testers coming along? Haven't seen any new times in a while.:sly:

CSLACR
Still fast and very good, back end cant stay planted through double-left following hairpin, losses some time from it,
Where's the fun if it wouldn't do that? :D
No, it's a fantastic time you drove with it, I'm really happy.

And it's great to see that the Atenza beats all Integras. 👍 Never thought to use it......
