War Thunder (F2P Air/Ground combat MMO)

Ok, your choice. Ignore the 110% bonus the plane above the researched plane gives.
It's actually 130% and not just 110%.
Prove it.
Why don't you try it yourself?
You'll see how you can get clearly more RP for vehicle research than for modifications research, just take sure not to use any additional vehicles with research penalties in the same game in case you decide to use multiple vehicles.

Take sure not to actually unlock any parts, because the game has the tendency to show you the wrong RP numbers then. Well actually, the game has the tendency to constantly show you weird numbers, but yeah... :)

I have terrible luck with teams in online gaming. I don't know if it's due to being semi-decent to above average in most games, but I consistently get put onto teams that consist of chickens running around without their heads. I know Battlefield 4 has "skill based balancing" which pretty much equates to me being put on 🤬-tier teams constantly.

I believe we all deal with the same kind of players and teams in War Thunder due to the somewhat low player count on most days and at most times.

Rocket League, I end up on teams where the other players want to hit the ball at all times regardless of the outcome of hitting that ball.

Which is why playing online with friends is beneficial. It doesn't guarantee success, but it increases the chance of success by a ton.

Yeah, done with that right now... First game was good, was tight all the way to the end with a 2-3 tank advantage.. Then the next two were blow outs... Enemy team never made it under 50 tanks remaining.

Sooo... He tries to say how if properly played, a Russian tank is OP for its tier, a US tank is OP for its tier, and German tanks don't have enough tanks for high tier?

Is that not the definition of Russian bias for the German tank players? Aside from the P47, the us aviation line is really good, in fact, I think all are, but the tank tree lines suffer. Look at the trees for the Germans, Americans, and Russians. The German have excellent selection of tanks before 6.0, and are ranked well. The Americans have excellent tanks above 4.0, and are ranked well, but the Russians, almost entirely focus on high tier gameplay. And bringing them down to the ranks of two post war German tanks is ridiculous..

Pz.Sfl.IVa Dicker Max: ‘Fat Max’
The ‘Fat Max’ continues the line of open-topped German SPGs. The vehicle was intended to be used against concrete bunkers. ‘Fat Max’ is coming in War Thunder 1.57!

The Pz.Sfl.IVa Dicker Max (“Fat Max”) SPG was developed as an enemy bunker destroyer – a powerful gun on a mobile platform. By 1941, the Germans managed to make two experimental prototypes which were sent to the front lines for testing. The ‘Fat Max’ was never actually used for its primary purpose – the requirements for assault guns changed while the SPG was still in development. Both ‘Fat Max’ prototypes were employed in the role we are used to as anti-tank SPGs. Let’s examine the in-game model of the SPG in more detail.

The ‘Dicker Max’ is based on a modified Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.E medium tank chassis, with the turret removed and replaced by an open-topped cabin. The chassis was not changed much – the front splash guards were removed and the shape of the frame was changed in some ways. The SPG’s armour was inherited from the Pz.Kpfw.IV – a rather decent 50mm around most of the front of the vehicle.

However, the task of these SPGs was not a frontal assault, but the provision of support for friendly tank breakthroughs, firing from cover with precise fire at long distances. The interesting gun on the ‘Fat Max’ can help with this – the 105mm K18/L52 weapon. At its core, this is a real field gun which was placed on an open-topped platform!

The relatively spacious cabin of the ‘Dicker Max’ holds 26 separately loaded shells and three crew members, including a commander, a gunner and a loader. The radio operator and driver are located in the front of the main hull. The crew space in the cabin, the breech piece of the gun and the crew working positions have all been accurately recreated for the in-game model.

In War Thunder, the ‘Dicker Max’ will be at rank III in a newly added German SPG branch, right before the ‘Nashorn’. Even the frontal armour is not strong enough to allow the vehicle stand still without careful consideration. The firing position needs to be chosen carefully. As usual for this particular German research branch, the weak armour is compensated for by the decent gun. The 105mm gun can easily destroy any opponent at its rank, as well as the vast majority of the others with a direct hit to the front of the turret. The gun has excellent vertical aiming angles, with a depression of -15 degrees. The ammunition includes two types of APHE rounds and HE shells with a large amount of explosive charge.

The ‘Dicker Max’ is a worthy vehicle for the professional sniper and expert tankman that supports allied breakthroughs. The SPG is already waiting for you in the hangar of the War Thunder 1.57 update which will come out very soon! See you on the battlefield!

tada

No, there is no bias at all. Every nation with tanks except Germany has post-WW2/pre-cold war vehicles. I think that has more to do with the state of Germany immediately following the war and not Gaijin omitting them. He also says the faults are in the matchmaker and not the vehicles themselves, so basically, if people played the planes and tanks right, there wouldn't be such glaringly "OP" vehicles.

And saying the P-47 isn't good? It's massively under the BR it should be at and when flown properly, is one of the most dangerous aircraft in a match.

Didn't mean it like that... Poorly worded. I meant basically what you said, but he started out with the American aviation line, and German tank line are the two who cry bias. The P47 is such a sealclubber, but I don't really see much wrong with everything else.

Anyways.. He clearly said it multiple times there are no transitional tanks, which I never thought of it that way till now. What is the point of making some of the Germans fight above their weight, and see those well above their weight the way the MM goes. If Gaijin truly wanted to balance the game, they would only allow the US V Russians for everything above 7.7.

Trying to get on the Dev Server... Looks like the patch will range from 5-6 gigs.
Much fun testing the buffed APHE shells (guess who profits from that...) and the new or changed maps such as this:

Too much vodka I'd say...

Flying a Pe-2-31 on Berlin. Go to southern most bombing target. Try to survive the 3 AAA emplacements.

Seriously.. give it a go. The first time I got set on fire and destroyed by 1 hit, I thought it was a fluke, but it just happened again so it's definitely not a fluke at all and that AAA is way too OP.

I don't think it matters which plane it is either. I was also flying low since all I had were the 100kg bombs.

If you put yourself in a position to get shot down, it's your own problem. Getting hit by anything larger than a 20mm will rip a plane's wing off in one shot, but most of the time you're not getting shot at by anything that large and it takes multiple hits.

The bigger issue here is putting yourself in a position to get shot at in the first place.

Ok, show me altitude where you never ever see russians and I'll stay there. Oh, wait, despite of being rated at sub 3k meter performers, they're catching P-51's and P47's and whatnot at 5k meters and above. Nvm then.
