So, Like me, a lot of people here are probably excited about this new Gran Turismo, the new generation of consoles and all. But there's something which is bugging me.

This PS3 generation was really a "dark era" for Gran Turismo, GT5 was delayed like hell, the game came out incomplete, features missing, standard cars, single player far from ideal, lots of GTR's, miatas...(add here things that you didn't like).

And Polyphony themselves seems to be really distant from the fans, lot of times I saw people here at GTPlanet upset about some things at the games, and there seems like It's impossible to contact PD and give them feedback to what we want or at least have news of what they're doing!

This year's Sony E3 conference seemed like a good exemple of them hearing the community and giving us what we like. And I think this is the time for us to Pressure Sony and PD for a change for Better!

I Would be happy if at least we could have an official PD Facebook, and Twitter which could interact with the community hear us, and improve the Game, or maybe some guys from PD or even Kaz himself frequent our GTPlanet forums...(Maybe you guys have some good ideas too, of how we could improve the community)

I'm not saying GT6 will be bad, or that PD "sucks", i just think we can improve the community and together build a better Gran Turismo

Edit: For things you want to see in Gran Turismo, there are plenty of wishlist threads. I'm pretty sure Polyphony Digital takes a look at those once in a while. Personally, I hope they're ignoring most of the stuff listed there and make the game according to their own vision instead.

GAMEPLAY - Start Grid
. Ability to customize grid girl clothing
. Grid atmosphere changes depending on location. People on Japanese track grids wear yukatas etc, whereas people on Middle Eastern track grids wear turbans and bishts. You might see the pope in Rome.
. Grid girls
. No grid girls
. Promo girls in bikinis, mini skirts, and micro skirts

I think it's up to the company to go in the direction that it wants to, and it's up to us to decide whether we want the product or not. We can't tell them what to put in the game, and then be angry when they don't.

I think i was a little to sensationalistic, I don't want to fans to dictate everything there should be in the game. I want to hear more of them, of what they're working on, and what are their ideas for the game, something like that, and there's always some good ideas around

I guess I agree with you about that. PD often feel like an independent publisher in the way that their team is so mysterious. It literally feels like Kazunori Yamauchi and a few of his friends' basement project sometimes.

This would never work. People would start hybridding and hacking it so you could drive has the Pope, with a Naked PitGirl (Special hidden paintchip) as your co-driver while all the opponent drivers are wearing turbans instead of helmets.

On a more serious note, some items such as duplicate cars and poor sounds are legitimate problems that PD need to address in future. However it is PD's game and if PD thinks they're ok, they won't change a thing.

Um SO WHAT! The game blew chunks look at GTA 4 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 ask people about both those games they'll also say they blow chunks. Oh and lets not forget they both hover someone around 20 mil+ sold as well.

GT5 was a mediocre game at best it was like playing Madden 06 for 360 when we found out all those features were stripped and only the bare bones game was there. (Might have gone to far lol)

The reality is GT5 was a just a crap game I had the game for a month, and to finish A-spec and even B-spec within a week or less come on man!


I'll put it this way GT reminds me of Apple's Iphone King of the throne for like 4 different phones then Android comes along, and the rest is history.

Not really. Sales can't hide the flaws in the game, and success for the developer does not mean success for the consumer. On top of that GT5 sales were probably motivated by more than GT5 itself.

I've played GT3 and GT4 even demoed GT1 long ago on PS1. I have very fond memories of both PS2 games, and GT5 comes no where near close to them, and I'm certain for many in this forum not even that of GT1 or GT2.

Might not be crap, but GT5 was a severe letdown. I tired it once the GT5 XL was released, but no matter how many times PD updated GT5 there was a lot more that needed fixing and it was one of those from the ground up type things something not being corrected by patching.

Now pray tell how are GT games sandbox in nature??

My thing is if PD isn't willing to listen well other racing games are coming, and will pass them by just like how Android has pass Apple by.

There's no denying GT5 was probably the most disappointing installment into the Gran Turismo series. Even though I still play GT5 today and enjoy it, I still know that GT5 had so many flaws that needed to be solved. Gran Turismo 6 looks promising and I think Polyphony Digital tried to at least listen to some of our "wants" in the game.

I do agree with you though, there should be away we can communicate what we really want in the game. Maybe make a Top 10 lists of what we want and get everyone in the GTplanet forums to sign on it and send it to Polyphony.
