Thanks for a good race. I did not have much time to prepare for this and it showed. Hope to be more competitive next time.
With full damage it hurts when you get involved in a crash through no fault of your own (x2) I trust the first lap frenzy will subdue as the series progresses.
I thought the race was 2 hours, the shortened time threw the pit strategy and fuel stops out of the window!

What a nightmare of a start in GTE guys, all caused by an out of position LMP trying to overtake the hole field by the 1st corner 👎 which caused multiple damage to lots of cars over the 1st 3 corners, after i set a good time to take pole in GTE we all got off to a good start, braked nicely for the 1st corner went to take the racing line and bang into the side of me came the LMP car going for a gap that was never there, it caused me to smash into paincake, damaging his car and left my car heavily damaged on both sides 
the damage from this crash caused me to spin in the next corner right infront of the GTE pack which caused a pile up. I am sorry guys but there was nothing I could do when I spun into the pack, i was a passenger. after all of that I had a boring race running on my own for long parts of it, my race was ruined by the 1st corner.

I'm not looking for an argument memto, I am just explaining to the GTE drivers why my car caused the pile up in turn 3, and I don't wanna be known as a bad driver, because of somebody elses mistake. i try to race as clean and fair as possible, if i can avoid any incidents/crashes then i try and do that, but there was no where for me to go to avoid this incident.

Ok so the points and penalties are in. Before you go into all that i would just like to say for a first event i am very pleased with how everything went down, there are a few things that people will iron out over time but overall it went very well, and 15 people started and 15 people finished which is a huge bonus.
Penalties are judged by myself and independent people and are cross checked so that everyone agrees with the results

1) Dave, It was deemed that you went for a corner that was not yours to take, if you had lifted off you would have been able to slot in behind without problem and taken them over the next few corners
2) Pablosky31, Just a quick note, not sure if you were aware but you squeezed people into the wall over 2 laps, please make sure it doesnt keep happening
3) Oalithgow, Pretty self explanatory and with your calibre of driving im sure you wont be repeating the same mistake
4) long-haired-lout, You changed tyres 13 secs before the allowed time
5) Ayrtonschumacher, You also changed your tyres 1:50 before time, it was stated a number of times that the pace lap will not count towards your 40 mins (which im guessing is what happened) so just for future reference
6) nforspeed91, Im sure you are aware of what happened in this incident and i know it was a high tempo part of the race, but the contact was unnecessary
7) Pablosky31, you changed tyres 6 mins before the allowed time
8) ANFD, You ran the whole race without using the medium tyres which means a 40 min penalty, and with the 40 mins it also means that you did not complete the required 70% of the race (did make me laugh with the PM though)

What does "Other avoidable contact offences" mean specifically?

I read the rules twice and no where did it say that the pace lap counts towards the total time. Please show me where it says that, I may have missed that. (I did 40mins 57secs on the meds).
It might be better to count the time spent on Meds in laps and not time. I hope you are not expecting people to be looking at the clock counter when we are just about to go green and all bunched up. At that point a driver should only be looking at the cars around him.
Also the race was far too short. Roughly, it should have been a round the 70 or 75 lap mark not 55+1 warm up lap. I think the race was only 1hour 22 mins. I'm here to race for two hours.

Just thinking out loud here.
If a race is meant to be 2hours and 40mins is to be spent on the meds. 40mins is a third of 2hours so why not make the time spent on the meds a third the amount of laps of a race. E.g. In a 60 lap race you will have to do 20 laps on the meds.
In the last race half the race was spent on meds because of the miss calculation in race distance.

It was said and typed in the room before the race many times, i have asked people to clarify that i did say it and they confirm that i had done many time. it is 40 mins on the meds but it does not count the warm up lap as time on the tyre. The reason why its time limited is that it does indeed mean that people have to take into account how long the start lap was and how they will play out their strategy, the whole idea behind this is that this is a feeder series to the WEC where there is alot more going on than here and it gets people into the right mind set for the WEC.
The race laps was a miscommunication between myself and dave and will not be happening again, i am aware that the race was to short and it was picked up on the moment the race finished.
