If you want to join Season 2 and your down as a reserve driver or raced tonight then post that you want Full time - GTE/LMP - (What car)

Too many knocks at my front door ended up making me miss the race. Anyways I'm glad you guys where at maximum capacity tonight! 👍

What was going on at the start in GTE, what a mess, obviously the pole sitter didn't know what to do, I started at the place where the link shows and the 2 cars infront were still going pace speed, so I took off and started then slowed down to let them catch up, then they start going pace speed again, wtf? there was a link jonny put up showing where the race was gonna start. obviously not many looked at it or didn't understand.

Was a good race after that tho 👍 lost loads of time during the night, was really slow at times and couldn't get in a rythem at all. good win in GTE I-was-ere, you had some very good pace in the Nissan.

I would like to race in the second season with the LMP cars.

I may be able to race tomorrow night. I will know by 1pm and will post if I can or not after the Gran Prix, 3pm ish.

14 people to finish Nurb 24h 👍 that was cool
Unfortunately I was not able to save the replay in the end beacuse of the loading bar :ouch: but anyway great fight with memto for third :)

Now down with lots of training for LeMans + new tyre regs + heavy damage
I look forward the new season because I'll be able to attend every race 👍

Sorry for that crash we had Plotnik about lap 7 or 8 on the last corner before the big straight, I didn't see you till the last moment, hit the brakes but it was to late I had nowhere to go, that was a big hit good job it wasn't heavy damage on or we would of lost a lot of positions, I think it was just a racing incident so no problem as I know you race clean and fair 👍

Sorry I miss read the date of last nights race. Thought it was tonight.

Anyway, I will race in season 2. Put my name on the list please and let me know if there are any practice nights.

No problem. That's racing :)
the first half of a good race for me, but about 9-10 lap begans my problems.
On Friday I was on night shift at work and after job I didn't sleep at all.
During the ride I started to fall asleep to the extent that at times I woke up in the grass, or on the bar. I could not resist and fatigue to beat me. I have not slept since Friday from 14 to last night after the race. The training I spent 10 hours yesterday ... could be better than 4th in class. Congratulations to all, and for my friend Pakos for second place on his debut in the WEC. You have to get ready for Le Mans!

Glad to see the professionalism of everyone here, no moaning, its quite enjoyable to read everyone's post,

Obviously there were some issues with the start for GTE, We are already discussing to organise this better for S2, apologies to all for the confusion, we will work out something,

Good to see a full grid, and minimal issues in the untamed terror that is the Nurburgring,

Also, Over the confusion of 2 makes of each car, we are allowing part time drivers to run duplicate cars, assuming they cannot make more then 3-4 races or less, full timers will have to follow protocol on the current regulations,

Haven't managed to sort out the ps3 properly yet, however I have found an old ps2 cable that should work with it so I might be back sooner than I thought. Basically the HDMI port has broken which sucks!

Lout that sucks man, but with grand am being such a tight turn around and our races extending, are you sure you will be able to do it?

If I may, I would like to advise to start even LeMans with a complete pace lap so we're sure that we can go full speed on start/finish line 👍

The inaugural race of the second season will last 3 hours so there is no difference on doing a complete pace lap or not...

Yup :c well I'm completely out of championship contention now in Grand Am so there's no point me taking part in the season they're currently in.

Just remembered that PS3 or no PS3 I won't be able to make Le Mans as July the 13th is my Birthday so I'll be back for Suzuka.

Hi pep's, i have some suggestions to the stewards for next season.
My suggestions are to ensure the fairness between drivers and there cars and to bring up the quality of the series overall, this mite take a little more effort but on the long run is worth it.

-First of QUALIFYING.

Disadvantages of current procedure:
1-Drivers can cut corners without any penalties.
2-Slipstream.
3-Contacts between cars during qualy.
4-Your best lap could be spoiled by a slower car in front.

Advantages of suggested procedure:
1-Prevent's corner cutting.
2-No slipstream, pure driving skills.
3-No spoiled laps cause of other cars on the track.

New suggested qualifying procedure:

-Before the QL stats, in "event settings" put the Disable collisions: ON, and the Penalty: weak or strong, and check the box "Effective for free run" , then start QL.

-when the QL finishes, for example after 15min, one of the stewards order everybody to finish, exist the track and returns the disable collisions to OFF and the penalties to OFF

-After this is done, every one will be ckiked off the track but, all the times will still be saved and the QL grid order.

-After the event settings are revised stewards can precede to do the spec checks.

-Is important that every drivers remembers he's QL position in case of any start discrepancies on the grid order, that can be later sorted during the formation lap.

Spec Checks.
As we all know the real way to ensure a driver's car meets the specs allowed is by specifying it on the "Regulation Settings", "Not by typing it in the chat"

Disadvantages of current spec check procedure:
Any driver can cheat the specs and put a few more HP o less KG to its car without the stewards even notice it. Even 5 extra hp or 10 less KG over the officially regulated, can be clear advantage over another driver that is not cheating.

The suggested procedure will ensure the fairness of the race and will prevent cheaters.

Suggested Spec Checkup

-After the QL ended a steward will proceed to type in every car's specs on the Reg. Settings. by power and weigh order.

-For example starting with the power, the steward will put the HP's of the less powerful car and tell the driver to enter the track, then move to the next less powerful and so on.

-After all the drivers have enter the track by HP check, the steward will start by the Weight of the heavier car and move, one by one to the lightest car. In this stage the other cars will be kicked off the track, and MUST NOT enter the "settings sheet".

-The car that is listed with it's original weight like the R8 GTE, doesn't need to be weight checked.

-After all the cars have been checked the race can be started.

-This procedure can be done before the Qualify, no problem.

-Its important to prohibitive drivers to enter the Setting sheet after the spec check starts, and more important during the power/weight or vice verse transition. All the drivers must have there cars spec correct before the QL, cause this is just a checkup.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, that is my suggestion, it's just to cause i think it can improve the series. If Directors (mento, TDZ etc) don't feel like implementing this, it's ok to me, and if they need some help on this, i would be glad to 👍

Yes agreed mate, we will sort this according to each race, and be more detailed to it in the drivers briefing, most tracks will have a full pace lap, but as I said any further notes will be detailed,

Yup :c well I'm completely out of championship contention now in Grand Am so there's no point me taking part in the season they're currently in.

Ah that's cool mate, still get a good go at the rest of the season,

@Oalithgow, I somewhat agree with you mate, but,
+ We know that all cars are within 2-3mph in a straight line and 2-3mph difference in the corners, If there is a difference in straight line speed or cornering speed that astronomically fast we will notice it, look into how that person got that area of their setup so good, if it is an issue with illegal weights or or power that person will be penalized, do not take advantage of our trusting nature, we are here to race and have good time,
+ Qualifying procedure, I wish we were able to save the replay of qualifying but once again that requires trust in that people will not do such things, once again, we know how much difference there is in aggregate time so if anyone came out and did a blinding fast lap which would be questioned,
Collisions will remain on, that is part of qualifying strategy,
(also the "cheaters" generally don't have the race craft or skill or strategy to win either hence the cheating,)

We "the stewards" usually have a debrief over the prior race, and part of that is things that could be/ should be changed and things that could be improved, we aren't just sitting on our hands here, and any input is appreciated for us to consider,

I'm probably going to only be able to race the beginning of season 2 so I'll be running as a one off I guess. Hopefully in 908.

I'm with oalithgow on the spec checks, think you should run checks before qualy starts, so we all know everybody is at the right regs, I saw people in there settings after the chat checks yesterday. also mic's off during qualy as well.

1) I like the racing to be as realistic as possible, therefore, slower cars in qualifying is, as in real life a factor and it should be here also. With the longer races and full damage, qualifying becomes significantly less import anyway. If you get held up in qually and qualify 4th instead of 2nd (for example), that difference is insignificant over a 3 hour race.

2) a formal spec check is absolutely paramount in my opinion. I realize that you are convinced of your ability to gauge any advantage but I am very much not convinced, nor are several others. I just can't understand why you are so opposed to such a common procedure when so many other series rely on it. The bottom line here is that I too trust everyone here, but then in the very back of my mind I am always wondering if there isn't someone stretching the rules, even by a fraction, so small that you may not notice it, yet enough to make a difference. People are people and as such, we are not all perfect creatures. Whenever I see someone leave the track moments before the race starts, make tuning adjustments and re-enter after the countdown clock starts, I can't help but be suspicious. Please, for the sake of simple "peace of mind", don't be so lazy and just do it ! In the long run, it would be less time consuming for you as you wouldn't have to study and analyse the replays trying to determine if an advantage exists or not :)

3) Talking and listening cause wrecks :dopey:
