Epic racing lastnight lads, that was a great way to start the season, after taking 2nd place here at Le mans, there will be no more moaning from me about my straight line speed lol, I went for a higher DF setting in the end, which suited my driving style and the viper felt much better and I was able to stay under the 4min per lap. That was a comical start with the pile up at the ford chicane, think us GTE drivers were just going way to fast into there, sorry for my part in the pile up, the restart went much better. Well done to the class winners :bowdown: well deserved victorys.

Very difficult and not predictable race.
My favorites went well, although I was hoping for dominance pluxa - but ended up differently. I had the opportunity to 2nd place, and maybe even win the race, but unfortunately a small incident with Chozz (lap 35 for LMP) crossed my plans and opportunities ..

I have no regrets because I turned and Chozz had no chance of brake, it happened in front of his mask.

Congratulations to all the winners, and all of them were at finishing the race and rode fair play!

Also sorry for the mess on the pace lap at the start.
 
This week I will be on holiday but I'll be back monday 22nd to start some Suzuka testing :) I'll continue to follow the forum on my mobile 👍
 
I must say the warmup laps before each rolling start attempt went a lot better than I expected. Aside from accidentally rear-ending another car on the first start, they went quite well and the field wasn't as spaced-out as in the practice race this past Wednesday or Thursday.

it was a mass DC to which the race was red flagged and restarted, as for the person who hit you it was pretty much the whole of the GT field lol, drama in a big way

*1. On a warm up lap, people need to not follow in single file, if there is a stack up then you will end up in the back of someone else which destroys their race.

*2. Driving standards in the GTE class must improve, i know it is racing but in the space of 1 corner 3 drivers were given penalties for incidents that should not have happened.

*3. ANFD it is the responsibility of the driver behind to brake at the right time, even if the car in front brakes early you still must predict what the car is going to do, i know it is harsh but its the same rules in all forms of racing

*4. Braunracing88 and Richyboy2mil, Blocking and ramming are not excepted racing moves and if they happen again you will face a 1 race ban. Braun going into arnage, Richy was along side you going into and round the corner there was no need to let off the brakes and run him off the road, it is not the first time your driving has been called into question, please work on your race craft as the race will not be won on the first lap. Richy there was no need to respond to being run of the road by doing the same thing, it gets dealt with by the stewards.

*5. Tyre rules are in place this year, read them and respect them, if you have questions then ask, but on race completion you will receive penalties if the rules are not complied with.

*6. I-was-ere, Track limits are to be respected at all times, cutting corners are not excepted moves in WEC so please stop immediately, You have been stripped of your fastest lap, but since this is your first (non white line) offence then 10 sec for each lap cut.

DISCONNECTION RESTARTS

HOW THINGS WORK

Room
will open between 8:30PM GMT and 9PM GMT Saturday evening, And will be hosted by either myself TDZdave or Memto89,

LMP and GTE Multiclass event, 8 Cars per class, Races would last around an 2 hours, with 2 Endurance races, Lasting around 3 hours,

ROOM SETTINGS

ABS 1, (Maximum)
TCS 3, (Maximum)
Driving line allowed,
Heavy Damage!

These are not the mandatory regulations, these are the maximum regulations allowed,​

Qualifying will be a 15 minute session followed by the race countdown timer for all circuits, except for longer special events, in which will have a 20 minute qualifying followed by a 5 minute break for you to sort your food, fluid and bathroom commitments for an endurance event.
Also, the field will not be cleansed after qualifying, so if you are in an LMP car and have a horrible run you cannot expect to be bumped up to the back of the LMP field, you will start where your qualifying time dictates.

Race distance for most events will be approximately 2 hours (Laps calculated for LMP completion time). Some special events will last 3 hours, exact lap count will be disclosed in the build up to each race.

Soft tyres are unlimited through out the race.

If weather is used on a track then intermediates and rain tyres will be used, and after the rain has dried up then soft’s may be used till the end.

QUALIFYING AND RACE INFORMATION

The Races, All races will have 1 full pace lap, unless detailed otherwise in the drivers briefing,

RACE START PROCEDURE

+) Cars will roll at pace speed around the circuit,
+) The leaders will slow pace to bunch the field up prior to the final turn of the warm up lap,
+) once the field is bunched the leaders will proceed through the final turn onto the front straight,
+) When the 2 lead cars are on the painted grid lines it is up to the pole winner to start the race, They can start the race from any point on the painted grid lines to the start line,
+) If they cross the start line and haven't gone then the race is green, their loss,

I'n summary, the pole winner dictates the pace lap, at pace speed, They have to ensure the field is bunched up, (near as makes no difference as some drivers will tail back to ensure their own safety in turn 1, once the leader gets to the painted grid slots its their choice to go, if they get to the start line and haven't gone then the race will also go green,
(Bare in mind that these may change race to race, so suit the track we are racing on, these will be released in the driver's briefing one week out from the event,)

OVERTAKING AND LAPPING

Be patient, overtaking points will come, You will never win the race on lap 1,

Lapping, GTE cars will be expected to maintain their line, It is up to their discretion to get out of an LMP cars way, "removing" them from the circuit will result in a penalty,

This is a championship, Points will only be awarded for top 5 only in each class, Bonus points maybe awarded for, Class Pole Position, class fastest lap, And class most laps led, and leading a lap at the start line,

BONUS POINTS
1 Point for pole and 1 for fastest lap of the race (Each category)
Double Points will be awarded for the two endurance races, You must complete 90% to claim any points,

WARNINGS AND PENALTIES

Penalties will be dealt with accordingly per class steward, I TDZdave am the head steward, Memto89 is the LMP steward and Johnnyb is the GTE steward.

If an LMP
causes a GTE car to spin or crash while lapping them, the LMP driver will be given a 10 second penalty for avoidable contact.

Other avoidable contact offences will be given 10 second added to their final time as well,

For the GTE class,
The race will finish at the first full completed lap after the LMP car has started the count down, This is to discourage dive bombing moves that may or may not gain you a place in the last seconds of the count down timer, However you guys can continue racing for your GT5 prizes until the countdown has finished.

White lines in and out of the pits are monitored and will be a 5 second penalty for crossing. All 4 wheels must remain in the white line unless it has been noted by the stewards that 2 wheels may cross.

If you are not sure if you have received a penalty or warning from an event, They will be published at the bottom of the OP, they will be published by Monday evening after the race, If we have yet to come to a decision it will be published as TBD,

Corner cutting, Two wheels must remain on the black stuff at all times, (or curbing) If it is deemed by us that you have been cutting corners you will be served a penalty pending how much it cut or how many times,
Also, Do not arrive in a "Hybrid" or "Hacked" vehicle, you will be removed on the spot! NO EXCEPTIONS!

*1. On a warm up lap, people need to not follow in single file once you have been instructed to bunch up, You need to be sure you are close enough to the car in front so that you can grid as soon as possible yet stop if they run into trouble, we will try rehearse this come next practice day,

Good stewarding guys, and well spotted. Sorry for my incident/retaliation with braun, it wont happen again.

How many warnings can one get out with before a real penalty is given??

I'm confused because afther watchin the prevoius penalty resoults, i saw people with 3 or 4 warnings on several incidents, but others with just one incident, and a -10sec penalty :/

Just like real race stewarding then? :lol: I joke, Had those people actually finished the race then they would have been penalized to their overall result,
But because they did not, they do not get points therefore hold no bearing to the outcome of the championship, If I remember right some penalties will be carried over to the next round of the series,
Don not read the above statement as a get out of jail free card as quitters will be removed, we have people quick and clean ready to jump in to your seat! We have removed one person already, do not tempt us!

If you have finished the race, you get slapped withe the rule book, which is why it works well to have a good clean race, just incase its a close finish and you end up losing the race ;)

Unfortunately joe we have 16 full time drivers who will be showing throughout the full series, thats why we have the feeder series https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=285033.... you can join the feeder when ever and run what ever class you want ;)
