Spec check starting now, You have 30 mins to make it to track but you will not be allowed to qualify
 
Really great race tonight guys thank you everyone for showing up... was a very interesting mix of strategy and weather playing its part... again well done to all

I'm surprised we didn't have as high an attrition rate as we did last time we raced in the rain.

I have to admit i was surprised as well... it seems everyone has really stepped up their game, which i am very happy about haha
 
Awesome racing lastnight lads, I had some very good fights with several different drivers, plotnik that was a great battle we had in the 1st 20 laps or so, shame that it started raining or our battle would of went the hole race I think. ANFD that was me who hit you, I had a nice lead at the time, I was now letting an LMP car through so I moved to the left coming out of the last chicane and bang you was there stopped on track, I hit the brakes but it was to late, had to pit and go for slicks very early, but no worrys mate that's racing and I know you race as fair as you can.

All in all a very nice round in japan, well done to the class winners, thanks lads 👍

My sincere apologies to Richy and Chozza for being an inert blob of protoplasm out on track due to damage. I had a terrible evening ! I didn't get any practice in due to testing cars for the CCS. I was slow and running on too little sleep. When it started to rain I made my first pit stop and being half asleep, I routinely just pressed X and wound up with RMs on the car .... geeez what a bone-head move ! I then proceeded to initiate a series of offs and damage involving others so I just wisely parked it. Once again ... sorry guys :scared:
 
Well it was one hell of a race... I had a great start and a good first stint helped by Richy and Plotnik's battle. Came in and swapped to the Mediums and then got loose through 130R. After trying to hold it 4 times it finally gave in and I got into the wall. A couple of laps later the damage caused me to spin into the inside wall at 130R causing a bail to the pits as it started to rain.

I waited as long as possible to pit for inters and as it turned out I shouldn't have pitted as it never got wetter than 37%. However the Ford was absolutely beautiful in the rain and as it got dry I waited until lap 36 (13 laps to go due to LMP pace) and got onto the slicks and pushed hard to catch both Plotnik and Rich.

It was a tense last view laps with my run into turn 1 on lap 47 bypassed by Braun's draft and a little bit of blocking from the Jaguar gave Richy a breather but on lap 48 he got loose and hit the sand hard. I was really really surprised by the win as I usually don't run well at Suzuka at all.

Congrats to all the field - it was a great race with no major issues that I saw

1. Pluxtheduck, you need to stop leaving gaps to the cars in front of you, i know you do not want to run into the back of the cars but you must keep the gap

2. Braunracing88, Your actions in warmup laps are becoming more suspect, you had issues in lemans and they have been repeated here. You were out of place coming into the final part of the lap, and pushing people for going to slowly will not be accepted. Please accept this as your first formal warning for this offence.

3. chozza_32, There was no space for the move into turn one, all the other cars were ahead of you and therefore you did not have the corner

4. Braunracing88, This is the second time you have been called up for blocking, it is not an accepted format of racing in sportscar racing, Please remember this is not NASCAR. You are on 2 strikes for this offence and 3rd strike will mean you will lose you seat in WEC and be demoted to the feeder series.

5. ZovomirVanBasten, i know you voiced your concerns about this incident to me, I have to give this one to oalithgow as it is his corner to take as you were not all the way along side his car and it was a very late move. Although it seems it 130r is not an overtaking corner unless you are ahead of the other car. Hopefully this video from both perspectives will show you what i mean.


P.s. on a side note Oalithgow you could have given a little bit more space and this would have been avoided

7. ANFD, Reversing onto a live track in a race is not acceptable driving standards. Please do not let me catch you doing it again, if you have crashed just past the pits (and its not the first lap) you will have to drive around the full track again.

8. Braunracing88, Please respect the Blue flags, you were not as fast as them and you were not trying to get your lap back, pull over and let them past

9. Dave, Your incident with Jonnyb is still under investigation. There was a very poor display of judgement and the incident should not have happened, if you have an incident please rejoin the track in a safe manor.

Additional notes: Pakos you will need to show up for the next race or you will lose your seat, the feeder series has many drivers budding for the spot in the WEC and its crucial that you show for the races.

Ok Matt, I'll try my best to close the gap but its very hard to judge the LMP's due to the increased braking speed you guys have over us. It didn't cause the start to be late as I was with Zovo across the line.

However if on pole again I will try to keep it closer

It didnt cause the start to be delayed but what it did do is cause people behind you to slow down much more than they should have which resulted in a small amount of contact behind you, and that could have been the end of someones race without even starting. if you stay on the other side of the track to the other car then you will be fine ;)

1. Someone needs to tell richyboy not to drive too much like grandpa on these pace laps. And with another car to one side and grass or gravel on the other, there was no place to go to avoid hitting him without the risk of hitting something else.

2. You must think I'm an idiot thinking this is NASCAR.👎👎 No wreck happened. There wasn't even any potential for a wreck to happen. Nor was there any intent to wreck myself (why would I do that?) or i-was-ere.

3. Richy and Plux caught up to me in the S curves, where there was no room to pull over and let them through. If there were paved runoff there, I'd have pulled off onto that and let them through. I can't turn the XJ220 LM into a f:censored:ing helicopter and fly out of the way.

I demand another appeal.

OK since you want to make this a public matter, If you look at this image everyone else has managed to line them selves up double stacked apart from you..... Richyboy2mil was braking for the people in front of him as everyone had to slow down for the 90 degree corner which was being taken 2 by 2.... richyboy did nothing wrong and if you were in the right grid slot you would have seen that, and you cant say that there was another car in the way on the left coz he gave you loads of space but you decided to follow richyboy in the wheel tracks around 130r.

In terms of your blocking with i-was-ere, you did a great job of defending your position and it was a very good piece of racing to watch, you placed your car right where it needed to be apart from the one time on the run out of spooons and coming up to 130r where he went for the over take and your moved after he made the move.... that is blocking, he had the run on you and that should have been that... you can not block people and you can not do reactive driving

And finally with richy and plux, yes they did catch you in the S curves and they did wait for the right time to get past, you were fine with that, but you blocked plux going into the degner corners when you had plenty of time to life off and let him past.... its not like you were on fresher tyres and you were catching them to get a lap back, you were slower and they were faster...

WEC is about racing, good racing that is it and i will not have this place tainted by slanderous behaviour that results in nothing but trouble.

Wow that is harsh memto, Call this strike 3 because i'm out of the WEC, i'm not having people slating me in public when ive done nothing wrong, and then im not allowed to respond to it, if I do respond to it I get a strike, WTF?. you need to have a look at who's driving fair and who is not and who is argueing fair and who is not. OK well its a shame to lose a good rated driver, but you were asked to stop arguing in the thread, I honestly dont expect to entertain child like behaviour from anyone and tbh you have no idea how much work i put into cleaning up the series, you have no idea how much work i put into this at all and if you think im going to sit back and have all of my hard work churned up and spat out by someone who cant be the bigger man and keep his mouth shut while everything gets taken care of behind the scenes then i wont stand for it... Brauns racing it not top level driving but it is clear that he has been working on it and tbh in this round he had a cleaner race than pretty much everyone else, the only issues he had were small things that resulted in penalties.
If you have not noticed no one else responds because they know the rules and they keep it to PM it was only you that felt the need to burst out onto the stage and give all you got.

Its not just you who have been warned about things and its not just you and braun who have faced discipline, but one thing you will find is that everything is taken care of outside of the thread. so no it was not harsh, it was the same level of discipline throughout.

After all that has happened im going to make this very clear

Braunracing88 has shown huge signs of improvement in race craft and understanding of the racing series, the issue is that other GTE drivers are using past racing incidents and taking personal feelings into account when trying to overtake, the only issues that braun had were the 3 penalties he had, It can easily be said he had a cleaner race than everyone else and there were some very very good racing manoeuvres made. I know he is not the fastest car on the track but GTE drivers make sure you understand that if you are racing a car no matter who it is, YOU RESPECT THEM AND THEIR RACE!!!
 
I did notice a huge improvement on brauns driving, in the early stages of the race, he drove well with me stuck in his boot, he held his line and made it tough to pass, there was one moment that he came accross to make a little block, but i bided my time an squeesed down the inside an we scraped paint work, it did knock him off his line but with no damage and only a fraction of a second lost i thought he may pass back down the straight knowin that the xj220 had me in the straights, i applad you braun for putting up a great clean battle with you and im actually looking forward to racing you

It is a massive shame memto because this is the best series ive ever raced in, and I do appreciate all the time and effort you and others put in behind the scenes to make this a great series, im sorry if it came across that I was disrespecting you because that is not what I meant, but it does upset me when I keep getting slated for no apparent reason, and I am regreting saying I am out, as this is 1 of the best series on GTP. I hope I havnt burned any bridges.
 
Right situation all cleared up and richy is restored to driving duties.

Please anyone that has an issue with a driver or the series take it to PM... I get enough crap passed my way in real life and in other things im involved with and as you can tell i take a hard line against anything that brings this into disrepute.

The replays for part 1 and 2 of the WEC N24 race are now finished

On that note, I would like to raise some concerns in that department regarding the next round at Laguna Seca. With the track being as relatively narrow as it is and with a lack of paved runoff, I fear this is really gonna come under some serious scrutiny that weekend. I still remember all the trouble I had with back-markers there in the last WSC season at the wheel of a Ferrari 330 P4. As far as I can remember, whenever I would come up to lap an ST (Alfa Romeo Guilia TZ2) or GT car (AC Cobra, Chevrolet Corvette, Jaguar E-Type, to name three), I would usually try and do so on the straights as there is more room there to maneuver. I'm not saying everyone has to do it that way, especially the LMP drivers. But it usually doesn't result in as many incidents. Just something to think about.
