Madrid Preview

Will Jonny make it to Madrid?
There has been talk around in the paddock that Jonnyb1990 may not be able to make the race at Madrid next weekend, of course as he's won the last 4 races, most people will be hoping he doesn't turn up, memto89 will certainly approve that, he trails Jonny by a relatively large 26 points with 36 availble in the last 3 races, memto will need to take full advantage of his possible absense to barge his way back in title contention. Jonnyb1990 recently confirmed that he won't be travelling to Madrid for Saturdays race.

Ninners on the rise
Ninners has had fruitfull success in the last 2 races, a 3rd place at Daytona and a second place in Motegi makes him the 2nd highest scorer in LMP in the last 2 rounds behind the obvious candidate, jonnyb1990, however can he go 1 better at Madrid, don't count that BMW out of the picture just yet!

Can Chozza take another step forward?
Chozza's 3rd place at Motegi is his first podium of the season, which you wouldn't expect if you've seen the speed that he has, small erros and incidents have set further back than he should be this season, but 3rd at Motegi after the post-race penalties were applied shows that he is slowly getting it together, the question is, can he keep his momentum?

Predictions from Autosport's driver in the seat, Ninners
"Well, this circuit is not my favourites that's for sure, but I usually go well at street circuits, but you can never rest around this circuit, the barriers are looming and if you make one error you'll be enjoying it, the main is to not make errors, especially in an endurance race, bide your time, ans drive within yourself, crashing will only set yourself back, but qualifying will be important as it is not easy to overtake round this track, but never discount anybody, this is a circuit where the driver does all the talking and the car does all the work, more so than other circuits."

Latest news
Series organizers are reporting that Richy will be back for Madrid, along with Jammyozzy who dominated Daytona in the GTE class, only Jonny and Memto can win the title in LMP, i-was-ere, Plotnik, Richy, Plux, and TDZ_Dave can win the GTE title, and only Jonny, Memto, i-was-ere, Plotnik and Richy can still win the overall crown, be sure to tune in for the race!

Round 7,
Circuito De Madrid,
Drivers briefing,

Track: Circuito De Madrid, Reverse Layout,
Laps: 96 + 1 pace lap,
Weather: C'mon guys its Spain, expect nothing less then perfect!

Track rules,

Warm up lap and start zone: As usual there will be one full pace lap, however the pace lap will be continued around further then the start finish stripe to this zone,
kqp0.jpg
The area marked in green is the acceleration zone for LMP cars, this will be where the race starts from on the second scored lap of the race, as usual it will be called via headset, the key reason for this is we do not want to replicate ALMS starts at Baltimore, see below,

Pit entry and exit: The solid lines of pit entry and exit must be adhered too, The dotted lines can be crossed, this will be monitored heavily,

GTE Drivers: Hold your line on this circuit, do not make any sudden movements, if you are going to move over for a P1 car, be sure to make your intentions clear before doing so, We cannot stress this enough!

Any queries please ask, but for now here's a video of street racing in ALMS, without the chaos,

I'll be late to the test session, but I should be on there before you call it a night. 👍

Just incase some don't know, jonny said he won't be able to make Madrid on fb group, so now, there is hope for all of us

Would have been better for you if he missed Madrid and you got max points, shame it was the other way round, for you anyway.

So tonight is a big pivotal race in the WEC championship. Its all to play for in the mid pack of the LMP field and everything to play for in GTE. There is an extra prize for the person who pits the least in the race

Its looking like a good close fight for LMP and GTE today.

Looking forward to it!!!!!

Last man standing more like, anyway I know I won't have the quali pace, this time I've gone for more of a race setup, so my pace on the mediums is better and the car is easier to drive and better on it's tyres than previously, but on 1 lap pace, I'm a long way behind your times, it took me 25mins just to get a good lap together 1:11.494 and it could have been faster if I had stuck all my best sectors together, but I wasn't running at full specs, the truth will be revealed tonight.

*CAR HORNS FROM STILL OPEN ROADS*

English translation:
Good morning WEC fans and welcome to the street race at Madrid! All seating is open and the track will open soon for public laps. All drivers, please join the marshalls, stewards, and safety crew in the race control building for hot breakfast and a mandatory safety briefing. We hope you enjoy today's festivities and the race!

This is gonna be a tough race guy's, very hard to let LMP cars through, I think some patience from both classes will be needed for this race, but i'm up for the challenge. Good luck all 👍

Seriously that was the hardest race ever I had a headache, slightly stiff neck at the end and a eyes that were as heavy as lead, thank god that wasn't a 3 hour race

You ran an excellent race my friend. In the end, it's worth the pain, either with a podium, or the satisfaction of pushing through it.
