Hi!
Time submitted, T3: 1´01.4. Awesome times missin link and danoff! :embarrassed:

I used the RGT for this race, because it felt the best for me. But after a couple days off the GT3, I must say, it was really hard to me to keep that monster on the road!

Somehow it felt very unstable, but I ran couple more laps with it, I got my current time, that was .7 seconds faster than the best time i had before. 👍

But see ya next week and good luck to all! 👍

I still wanna know what the hell rolfje meant by his comment. :irked:

But yeah, Im done with the rgt and should get in one more quick run with the lotus at a pwr close to the limit. (not as close as needed though.)

Will be back later with an update on that lotus time...

And you know, at the begining of the week I was running 1.03.0 and made it all the way to where I am now. When I was at 1.03 I set a goal for myself, since I met that, I am happy. :D

But Im still gonna put in some non-rgt competition for everyone. :mischievous:

I can't speak for him but what I think he means is that on first glance it looks as if there are a few competitive cars, but it turns out the RGT is by far the best.

I think we should do this again next week but either without the RGT, or without the weight restriction.

I was all fired up about this in the begining. Then my week turned to **** and I couldn't get back to the game.

Actually, it wasn't a ****ty week. Just super busy.

Well, I going to submit my 'Un-Ruf' time....I will just have to imagine I'm in a separate class.

There's no way I can get it to run the times the RGT is capable of....I'm proud of the effort I put into trying to get this car going as good as I could get it.:D

I might set up a RGT just for fun and see what I can get out of it, but I can't match those awesome times Link, Danoff, Mr. P, Max E......or who knows who....:P :P :P

 But, that's cool.....I can't run with those guys anyway!  :banghead:

i think he meant that its one way censorship since you arent telling us your time. you know we all give you our time and then you dont share back;) maybe unless i am completely wrong but thats what i thought he meant when he said it.

Ah, I gotcha... thing is, I wasn't censoring, just correcting...

I mean, do you guys really want to see my name on the leader board way down with a honda nsx time... even when my real time was just off of mr.p's marked time?

I think it would be unethical and misleading for me to allow everyone to think Im running an nsx in the mid div 2 range when Im actually tailing div 1 with a rgt.

But hey, thats just me... if you all would rather that I let those sorts of things go... Im cool with that. :mischievous:

I gotta admit, the reason my rgt times never came out was due to the fact that I know less people participate when they know they wouln't win, so I just didn't let anyone get scared off. And I know you can find this sort of comment in my previous post.

So anyway, I met a goal of mine, but thats about all. Catch you guys later tonight. (results up in about 7 hours... till then. )

Later. :D

didnt get a chance to run in the second half of the week ...real,real busy.Oh well i'll enter my best from earlier in the week.btw i have also noticed from my records screen that if u take the RUF out of this comp...(think there is no doubt it is the quickest)then times for the remaining cars of choice are very, very close indeed.I wouldnt mind doing it again without the ruf.maybe not straight away but just a thought for the future:)

P.S Big shout to the 1 minute T3 crew....U GUYS RULE:D :D

... Just want to ask one thing before I run to school. (school till 10, results at 12. )

Please include your division when sending your time.
Thank you for doing so...
I know most of you, but divisions...? With divisions I don't really know who's where.

Thanks again.

Wow...

Just carved off 1/2 second before T3 and another 1/2 second between T3 and the finish. I guess that means I was too slow all week.
21.0

1.01.2

V V Ran the RGT from the very beginning, obviously. V V

I see that the gang's all here.
The missing link is no longer missing.
I hope Mr. P's memcard mishap won't prevent his participation.

My assignment ran over, but I'm home and happy.

I've run a session with the RGT-NA, but the Turbo is faster for me.
Nowhere near the minute T3, but I'm still plugging away.
I've a couple of hours left, so I'll be getting back to it now.
I'll submit whatever I come up with.

ODP!
What's up?

Glad to see you made it in time to run a few. I'm also feeling happy right now... finally finished that speech I spent all weekend working on... nailed the delivery. ;)

Also glad to see everyone took note of my "include divisions" note above. Thanks all. :D
Later.

Time Submitted, .02 improvement...I can say I am happy with the time, though as alwasy i wish I could cut more off.....

Hi Kent, not much. I got home, ate dinner, read the thread and ran a session.

20.582
47.385
60.345 submitted

I've seen .189 and a bunch of .2s, but I couldn't finish them strongly. My fastest lap is down .165 (T3-finish) from my best (T3-finish).

It's strange how the NA RGT spec's better, yet the Turbo seems faster. Maybe it's the power curve. One of the older versions of GT had a chart w/power, torque curves.

I've got another 10mins.

Got in a few last minute laps with the RGT. Nice that it tunes up to 2.50 right off. Had hoped to break into the 1:01s, but finished up with:

21.604 49.080 1:02.237

Though with a week final sector. It finished not quite 0.3 ahead of an earlier 1:02.8.

Great race idea Kent. 👍 Sorry I didn't have a little more time to work on it.

Sorry lux, but I can't let you cite my time in your post. ;)
It was kinda off. Hope you don't mind that I abused my mod status to remove it. (but that's all I did. First time I've done that sort of thing as a mod btw.)

THAT's what I mean with censorship. The power of the mod status is in not using it to modify other people's post.

Sorry it took a while, i've been busy at work...

So like I said, you would prefer that I lie about my time and just leave some bogus time on the board?

I don't think so, my code does not let me post sectors that are false.

Also note that I have not edited anyone's post other than in this one incident during all the time I have run the races.

I don't like what you've said and I take it as a pot shot at my ethics.

Lies are one thing I will not give the racers of the weekly.

When I purposefully allow everyone to think I am running slowly in one car, then turn in a blazing time with another, it is misleading and just plain wrong... maybe not for you, but for me, as a person and the moderator of this series, it is not acceptable.

Then again, you are right, it was changing his post to remove my time. I shouldn't have done it, as I am even on record characterizing this as an "abuse."

So I do apoligize.

I am sorry for editing the post in question, it will only happen again when needed.

However, it should be noted that none of the editing had bad intent and was more an action out of honest than anything else... as I did acknowledge and warn luxy openly. (what you cited should be evidence of that...)
So it's not like I changed the post for some sort of bad reason, and for that matter, I didn't even add anything or change existing material. Rather, I just removed my name from the list and removed the gap... that was all.

Anyway, take this all for what you will, I apoligize again.
I will be very careful when using administrative options.

So let me get thiis straight. You can lie about your times, and then when somebody else quotes you on your time, you reserve the right as a moderator to edit somebodies post. Nice. When somebody comments on that, you call that a "pot shot". Okay...

I am quite an "online" person, and have moderated some forums myself. I have never had to edit somebodies post, and never will. I als haven't met any moderator who editted other people's posts. In all these years I've only seen some complete post deletions (the only right way to handle severe abuse, and I mean SEVERE), but those are very rare.

The power of a moderator is in knowing that you can, but not actually doing it. Leaving things on the board, and then critisizing them is far more powerfull than removing them from posts.

You don't have to apologize over and over again, thats's also not helping your status. Everybody makes mistakes every now and then, just learn, and carry on the good work.

You are doing a fine job running the weeklies, and are learning a lot as you go. Moderating is different from posting, is it? ;)

Race on.
Rolf

I have to back up GoKents on this one, Rolfje. Although editing the post himself wasn't the best solution (he could have asked me to remove his time and would have been happy to), I think he had fair grounds for making the change.

I quoted a time that he had posted in the middle of a paragraph discussing his racing to that point in the week. I wasn't even quoting a set of splits GoKents posted as fact, just a T3 time he had mentioned in passing.

If someone were to quote something that I said out of context, I'd like to think that the moderator, with good reason, could make the change and prevent me from being misrepresented. In this case, it just happened that the moderator and the person being quoted out of context were one and the same. Cut him some slack :)

No, I am not allowed to lie about my times and I never did lie about my times.

Exactly that... This time was only for racers not using the rgt to get an idea of how fast their various cars could run.

I feel like this is more or less a good note to leave this thread on.

Rolfje got in his opinion.
Luxy got in his opinion.
I got in my opinion.

I left the thread up longer than I would have just so rolfje would have time to respond to my post.
He has had time to do so, and along with that, luxy did also.

Even though I do not want to cut any of you off from posting on this subject, I am going to move this thread into the archive like every other weekly race that has pasted.

If any of you feel I am doing, or have done something worthy of a refferal, please contact a super moderator or jordan himself.Or of course, contact me.

As rolf suggested, I will not continue to apologize. ;)
I will continue to work as I have in the past, let's all hope the weekly continues to flurish. :D
Later.
