hahaha thanks Emp.

talk about cerebral, back earlier in this forum, i read mr. holland's 2nd or 3rd post, and it's like BAM!?!?!?!?!?! 1'04.8 !?!?!??! how do u recover from that.....???

Im gonna have to disagree with you on that one emp. ;)

This is very much a no brainer.

Do we ever get a turn out like this in "brainer" weeks?
 :(
No.

I would say the largest turn outs always come in weeks where the car & track combo is easy enough and difficult enough that only 2 seconds will seperate div 1 and div 3.

Like the supra at midfield.
That race was hard for anyone to win, the top people were all really close.
But, that race was also really easy for keeping up with the pack.

Do you see what I mean?

Easy to not lose, hard to win.

If it's too hard to win, there is a "no show" from half the people here this week.
(don't take that the wrong way fellas)

Then, if the race is too easy, most of the fast guys lose interest and move onto something funner.

It's like competition drives some of us, and for the rest of the racers, competition drives them away.

Don't know what to say besides enjoy the week everyone!

I like the way this race looks in terms of participation, but in terms of racing interest... I'm lacking for this race.

Maybe when we get back to some maxed out tuners. :mischievous:  :yeahright:

Anyway, have fun ya'll. :D

so much to digest there GoKents ;)

being new to the WRS, i see each race as a challenge. whether or not the race is fun (to me), is another issue altogether. as a newbie, there's much more to prove. it's not an egotistical thing, but i think most ppl want to know where they stand in terms of their skill. but i'm new.

all those old pros out there with their plentiful wins, already know where they stand in their divisions. so i guess their participation might be determined by their like/dislike of each track/car in the weekly.

but like with so many things, competition only makes things better. so hopefully the addition of good, new racers who start stealing all the podium finishes from the pros, will spark up some new found interest in the weekly's (if any interest is lacking).

that's just my take on it.

how did i start talking about all this?? :odd:

I race when I feel like it :P

Managed a few clean headed laps earlier tonight ...sectors where
15.8 / 44.7 /1.05.5

can see much room for improvement there

I guess I can't really complain about never getting this for myself since all of my "dirty headed" nights are self-induced, but man oh man, I love it lotus...

Clean headed laps. ;)

I might get one of those in tomorrow, but for now I need to just work on clean headed mornings.

Later,
:D

btw, mark this one in the calenders... got a double post from kent... :ashamed:

Threw down some more laps here... Can't say I found out how to get that 0.250 from holland, however, I did beat that elusive T3 of his :D

15.611
44.266
1'04.784

Now I cannot find anymore time between 2 and 3... however I did leave some time between 0-1 and 3-4

nice time

well i am done for the week as i happened to have mysteriously broke my controller (apparently when you throw them at stuff they break) but anyway heres my final sectors

T1: 15.937
T2: 45.127
T3: 1:06.176

nice time :embarrassed:

Thanks man, it felt like a good lap... even though there is still that 0.150 in T1 and about 0.200 in the final sector. And if I could find that 0.200 that MiH has on us, then I would really be cooking (And showing that Arcade MRS Autobacs who's boss!)

 are you div 3?

and i have a spare one still but i dont wish to attempt to use it for fear of breaking that one as well. this car isnt good for my driving style i guess and so it is quite frustrating for me and well that leads to broken controllers.

Ok, after my first 15 laps, managed to get T3 1´06.5. I also saw a couple of 1´06.2 and such but they were dirty. I need to catch you 1´05 guys up :D

I like this weeks combo. Thanks kent! The Silvia feels so balanced and good flying around the mountain. I like the course also. No 90 degree turns or such.

I´ll be back with faster times. Till then, laters..

No matter what i try i simply can't get a T1 quicker that 0'17.xxx

any tips on taking that right hander after the chicane?

do you always take the chicane at close to full throttle?

(yes its TM II with arcade C-West)

The chicane is flat. You should not even be thinking about easing off. The flying lap starts as you exit the tunnel on the previous lap. Flat out from there down and flat thru the chicane in 5th, down to 3rd for the right hander before T1.

u shouldn't let the throttle go on that turn ........... u go at full throttle, on the turn right before the T1, brake early and accelerate right when u hit the apron, that should help u gain sometime, at least i do it that way, and it alywas helps me , my best time so far has been 15.943 T1

I use fourth for the turn before T1. speed never drops below 75 (usually) so no need to go down to third for a measley 4 or 5 mph. Especially when like we discussed for the sweeper onto the back straight, 4th just has lots of low end torque.

T1 = 16.233
T2 = 45.765
T3 = 1'07.968
My best so far, still a second or so off the pace, I'm losing most time between T2 and T3.

my final sectors for this week look like this:mischievous:

t1 15.916
t2 45.678
t3 1.06.721

i think i might be getting a bit better every week:P, hopefully im not last in div2 this week again i hope to be able to be in the top 6 like i was before i took a big break from gtp weekly and gt3 :P

So have I, I wasn't n the top six before though so I'm not aiming for that, all I'm doing is trying to better my skills and this is a good place to see them improving.

just a quick update on my times.
My best splits are

T1 - 15.887
T2 - 45.145
T3 - 1.05.902

However, the best lap actually came from:-

T1 - 15.943
T2 - 45.189
T3 - 1.06.029

As I nailed the final sector on this one. Still more to come I hope.

Ray.

I've made it into the T3 5's. 1'05.978, but it's still a 5 :P

I've improved my laptime by 0.3, but my sectors are identical (except my T3 is 0.1 faster) but I came over the T3 line and thru the corner after it better.

So far my best clean lap is 15.920/45.041/1'05.899

I have no idea how the heck you are getting such low T1's :odd:

I just spent 2 hours trying to go faster and i did eventually but there is just no way that i will ever be able to drive those times that daan, missing link and made in holland are driving.Respect guys.

Here are my improved times:
T1-15.718
T2-44.744
T3-1.05.466

That's as fast as i can go.
