There's no chance in hell of me getting 1:05.7 let alone a second faster. 1:06.065.

I have no idea how the heck you are getting such low T1's :odd:

hahahahaha! gotcha:P

i think the low T1's can be had if u can maintain around 129-131mph exiting the initial chicane, and then sticking the 90 degree right turn at around 71+mph, and hitting the inside (right) rumble strip.

no new attempts yet, and i'm not sure there's going to cuz I don't think i see 1'04's in my future...

hmmm.. reached a sticking point with my times; getting slower in fact.

interested to know if anyone's taking the turn after the second tunnel flat-out? (around 150Km/h I think?) I've managed to do it a few times, but I can't do it if the preceeding corner is taken at full speed as I don't have the correct angle of attack for it.

I think it's these two corners where my time is disappearing the most.

i think it's the two corners you just mentioned, plus the last big corner right before the T3 checkpoint, that is where most of the time can be gained/lost.

and i agree with you about this approach in the left turn after the 2nd tunnel. if i'm going through the 2nd tunnel flat out, it really hurts my turn following it, and vice versa.

i think the best T3 times i've had, occurred when i didn't go flat out on the 2nd tunnel turn, cuz it leaves you no time to set yourself on the right side to enter the slight left.

maybe i'll look at my replay to confirm. or maybe i'm too lazy. :D

15.951/45.122/1'06.214

A little progress tonight, I saw a few T3 1'05.9xxs and one T2 of 44.8 and a few T1s on 15.8 and 15.7.

The good news is I know where I am blowing at least .6 secs, maybe more, the bad news is I still haven't figured out the right line around the corner (the big 180 onto the back straight). Otherwise getting into the low 1'05.xxxs is just about making the lap tidy and smooth. I'll get there, just need to give it more time.

I started last night, my best clean is:

15.711 / 44.465 / 1.05.177

I know I can get into the 1:04's, but I am going to be really busy all weekend so I'll probably have to turn this one in:irked:

Hi!

Little progress for me too. Now without TC:

15.8/45.5/1´06.1

I have one big problem. The long right (the U-turn) before the straight for T2.

How do you guys take that turn?
I just go in and i have to drop to the third gear to go thru, and I know that is not the fastest way.

later..

Keep it in 4th all the way.

Approach the turn on the FAR left (tires in the dirt a bit if possible). There is a shadow that runs across the track which I use as a braking marker and turn-in point. Stay in 4th and brake just a bit before the shadow down to about 75 MPH (don't know KPH) and STAY in 4th as the car has more torque in the lower RPM's anyway. Then turn in a bit after the shadow, I turn in slow ly and first then sharper towards the apex. I try to unsettle the rear end a bit to get the nose pointed in farther. You should be able to stay at about 80MPH through the turn, but stay low in the yellow during the middle 1/3 of the turn and ease onto the gas until you are sure you have the traction to go full throttle without understeer. With practice you can stay above 80MPH though the whole turn and be at 90MPH when you come out onto the straight. Hope this helps as it's hard to describe in words:D

thanks folks for the tips....i dont think i am attacking this aggressively enough...i brake too much....no i have never liked trial mountain...

Yeah, thanks for the tips.

I´ll try that. I´ve been trying to get through the turn too fast, so I´ve had to brake too much and drop to third gear in order to take it clean.

But yeah, thanks!

I always end up taking the turn at 80+ all the way through. I'm only .1-2 faster though.

Shift rpm?

P.S. I like your Peugeot 406 Daan:cool:

Went thru it slightly quicker then :D

15.8
44.6
1'05.6

Thanks

Somwhere between sector 2 and 3 you loose the most time daan.I compared your times with mine and i am faster in 1st sector, you are faster in the 2nd sector and i am faster in the 3rd sector.I think that after the 2nd tunnel you loose the most time.

Hiya!

15.9/45.1/1´06.1 for me at the moment.

I messed up the T2 to T3 section. But I´m learning all the time how to get fast thru´ that big fat curve. It is infact, the hardest part of the track for me.

Thanks daan and CFM for being so open about your technicues. They have helped me out alot! 👍

Better times will follow later.

I'm having problems too, I can keep up with the pace now on T1 and T2, but I'm losing time between T2 and T3, anyone have any tips how to takle that, I can do the turn into the tunnel okay, so it's not that one that I'm losing time over, the thing is I don't know where I can go faster, whenever I try to I'm hitting the walls.

I'm still managing to squeeze a little more from my times. Best T3 is a 1.05.8xx, but I'm still yet to see a 44.xxx for T2. I'm actually grabbing a few tenths between T3 and the finish line now.

Hey daan and T13R I forgot to thank you guys for the shift RPM suggestion. It was after you guys told me that that I shaved so much time between T1 and T3. Thanks!

As for a lap breakdown.. I will offer my advice....

Chicane, flat out--should stay minimum of 129 mph (207 kmh).

Hard right to T1, stay in 4th at 73mph (117kmh) minimum, fully utilize the inside rumble strip.

Stay in 4th all the way around the left, brake slightly, then use throttling to stay at 79 mph (127 kmh) minimum.

Flat out to the right sweeper leading to backstraight, get as left as possible.

Stay in 4th for sweeper, attempt to maintain 80 mph (129 kmh) this is achieved by a quick stab of the brakes, and throttle control.

The uphill is that hardest section, brake a little early down to about 100 mph (161 kmh) then as you approach the 'dent' in the inside while, coast down to 90 mph (145 kmh) while steering hard right.

Get wide to the right and coast to about 92 mph (148 klmh) and attempt to catch that rumble strip steering medium left.

For the hard left to T3 try to get near 70 mph (113 kmh) and catch the rumble ever-so-slightly, then it is nearly flat out to the finish, only lifting ever-so-slightly for the right-tunnel turn.

Do you get back over to the left of the track after negotiating the corner before T3 to get a better run at the tunnel? I guess you have to?

I´m under 1´06 :mischievous: with

15.7/45.2/1´05.8

As you can see, I´ve wasted alot of time during T1 to T2 so its easy to me to improve. Fastest T2 I saw was 44.8 or something. There is still so much left on the track. I think I´ll come atleast a half second down.

And again, thanks for the tips all of you. My overall time has dropped 0.6 seconds. :)

For me, the only hard spot is that big right one to the backstraight. Everything else goes like a routine.

I´ll be back

Laters

some strange times i've been running just now...

15.8
44.6
1'05.200

and the lap time was .200 faster than the dirty laps where i hit 1'05.0xx in T3??? :odd: and the dirty part was before the T3... ??:odd:

would one of use guys be able to pm me with your lap times? i forgot to save my replay and cant get my sector times so i have no idea where i stand with you all lol

Welcome to the WRS boone_501. The rule here is that we don't share lap times, only sector times. It would also be bad form to report a lap time for which you had not saved the replay. Run a few more laps, and save your replay whenever you set a "best". I'm sure you'll figure out where you stand soon enough. ;) "Happy Trails"
