Thanks Daan.

Your description matches what I'm doing, except I'm braking into the turn after T1. I'll have to give it another go but I tried before and felt sure it wouldn't go through flat. If it goes through I imagine it'll make a fair bit of difference.

Think I need to give it a rest tonight.

Actually, I've just watched my saved replay and I do brake just slightly going into it. The replay speed was at 153km/h, but I think I've went thru there at 160km/h on other laps.

Using my clapped out model (1400km on the clock), still giving me 334HP, best T2 so far in the 48.9 area

Next race for Torc 12 is SSR5, and since we got that 3 day break til next race starts, i'll try to get some laps in, will have a chance to re-familiarize myself with the track, even if its backwards.

well ill put in a few hours tonight but then i gotta submit my time since i have finals next week and i wont have time to play again. ill probably miss next weeks race too. be back soon with times.

Edit: After a few laps have these and im quite pleased at how quickly i got them

T1: 26.345
T2: 49.534

previous best lap had a 49.7 then got that 49.5 and dropped 1.4 seconds 👍

Didn't think the car would go through the turn after T1 flat-out. Had a look today and it confirmed my suspicions. About 155-160kph on exit is roughly what I'm managing so that's ok I suppose.

So that leaves turn 1 and 2, the hairpin and the slight lift before T2. I'm somehow still losing ~1.5sec on an 'average' div 1 time. I don't even think I'm keeping pace with div 2 either.
Let's be honest here, to be losing this much time in 4 corners I must virtually be stopping the car dead on some of them!!

About 125kph on turn one at the apex, growing all the way down to turn 2.
100kph at turn 2 then flat through to T1.
About 150kph on apex of the turn after T1 growing to 155-160kph by the barrier on the exit.
70-76kph or thereabouts on the hairpin, keeping tight.
I lift on the next right to get better exit speed from the proceeding left, and I usually cross T2 at about 157-160kph.

this is generating 49.4 - 49.9

If anyone has any suggestions as to improvements on this then I'd love to hear them, because I'm quite frankly confused by this week's pace.

Happy racing.

Home Sick :ill: with a Cold today so between coughing & sneezing fits have run a few laps. Best Clean Lap so far:

T1 = 25.445
T2 = 47.464

Lots more time to be "Found"...UB57 :D

Cut a half second overall and I'm now at:

26.267
49.224

Tonight I'll give it a try with manual, although I'm not comfortable with it at all. But I tried out some semi-auto and gained a lot of time on the straight, so it's well worth giving a shot.

well snuck in a few more laps today before heading off to the library and i think im done andready to submit.

T1: 26.0
T2: 48.9

dropped another 1.3 seconds off my overall time too 👍

ok ok, got down to the business finally tonight. i must say, this car is a true joy to drive. i'm @338hp so i am not sure exactly what the max hp is (probably 342-ish) anyways T2 is a 47.360

when i first saw UB say there was lots more to find, i thought he was smokin the ol wacky tabacci but now i see 46, especially when i have full break in. but it's tonight or never cause torc 12.2 starts tomorrow. good luck gents.

ahh schitt! i had to sell a car from my original save to mod the mazda and after puttin in 40 miles and gaining about 4 hp, i thought "i will just play a little more tommorow" so i had a brainstorm and though "let me trade the car to a garage on another disk. yeah, i'm a genius. that way i don't have to save this game and lose that car from my original garage." so i load up another garage and when i go to trade, i realize that you can't load another game and trade the miata in the same state as it was because i would have had to save it on the first card to get it the same way in the trade garage.

anyway, all that conveluded crap amounts to the following: i got the same damn car i started with before the session and i'm a dumbass.

now i'm mad and will be running a 46.6 with a fully broken in car goddammit.

i just ran this for the first time ( ive benn pretty busy) and have managed T1 0'26.544 T2 0'49.832
should be able to squeeze more out as my line improves and the car breaks in.

After shifting to manual I'm now at:

26.139
48.669

Damn it. Now I'm gonna set a new target time. :D

Hi guys,

Wow is this car fun to drive. Tracks not to bad either ;) . Anyways, best clean lap so far is:

T1: 25.540
T2: 47.529

Still heaps of time lying around, had heaps of oversteer coming out of the hairpin on that lap :mischievous: .

as soon as i have a refined one. that setup was kind of a slapper-onner till i hit max HP. i'll polish my run tonight and post my sets.

hmmm... looks like I'm in competition for the slowest lap this week.

I really am confused. If anyone looks at my post on the bottom of page 2 and sees any areas for improvement please tell me. I cannot imagine where all the time is going :(

Just wanted to stop in with a few things to say.

First off.
everyone should direct compliments about the car to cfm.

He suggested this car at complex string 2 in his monday night time submission.

I went with the track I had already picked, but the car was all him.

Also, this brings me to another point.

I have really enjoyed this week. (regardless of how fast I run)

I acredit that enjoyment to the fact that I had no advance knowledge of what we would race this week. (since I did get the car suggestion from cfm on monday night)

So, with that said, I suggest that some of you guys with creative ideas take the time to include a short suggestion for the next week when you submit your times.

Good luck this week and have fun.

Later. :D

Gave it another bash with a fresh outlook tonight. Probably about twenty mins or so.

Stiffened the whole car up a lot... springs, shocks, stabiliser...

The stiffer set-up allowed me to carry more speed into the first corner, and also to get through the turn after T1 a lot better.

T1 - 26.143
T2 - 48.771

This T2 was ~0.8 faster than that of my fastest lap, however the lap only finished 0.6 up on my previous best so I may find some more. Still buckets of time being lost upto T2. I think my limit may be another 0.2-0.3 If I get time over the weekend.

See you all week 65.

ok guys how do i unlock the 900 degrees of rotation on driving force pro and how do ya get the dang shifter knob to work

Did I mention it is snowing here in my town... yeah, that's right, it is snowing in hell.

Glad to see you encouraging the other racers max. 👍
;)

As for my progress...
:D
I have something that is "semi-fast".
However, I can still lose time on all sections, but at the moment, I am drunk and do not feel like working at a race.

Well actually, I do feel like racing, but I just can't do any. (atleast, nothing on pace)

But for sure, tomorrow and the next day will have plenty of racing for me.
I am confident that I will be able to officially submit this week, but no promises. ;)

Back later on today. (since it's 2am here. :D )

Later.

Hi all, and again, sorry for my absence (not that anyone missed me :D)

So is the 1.8i the MX-5 we use in PAL-version this week? I could give a try, ´cause the car (MX-5s in general) is one of my favourites. And I like the track too..

Ok, thanks in advance.

Laterssss
