Can't find my settings for this one so I had to start over :( After many stop n starts I've managed to come up with a promising but as yet unconfirmed setup

T1 31.790
T2 59.144
T3 1,20.670

Well since I have the 2nd fastest splits posted so far and everyone seems to be struggling so much (except GT3mich) with this and GT3mich hasn't posted his settings, I guess I will. I am, by no means, any good at tuning. I just play with things until I think it works better. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I also usually just put up with a car a little bit and try to drive around it's short comings if possible.

GT3mich, I'd love to have suggestions from you (or any one else that does really well on rally) on my set-up. Bad or good comments welcome.

Springs: Front 14.0 Rear 17.0
Ride Height: 80 both
Shocks: 10 all
Camber: 2.0/1.0
Toe: 0 both
Stabs: 7 both
Brakes 22 both
LSD
intitial: 25/40
accel: 35/0
decel: 40/0

Gears
1st 2.758
2nd 2.038
3rd 1.579
4th 1.286
5th 1.101
6th 0.977
final 3.860
auto 18

Down force: max both
VCD: 30%

I've tried lots of different combinations and didn't really see much difference. It came down more to me running a good lap than minute adjustments to settings.

Hope that helps someone.

I got a little better.

with a t3 of 1'22.xxx

At least, I think that's what it was.

I think this was run with my road racing set-up, I guess I'll find out when I get my lap up on my computer.

GT3mich, I'd love to have suggestions from you on my set-up. Bad or good comments welcome.

Springs: Front 14.0 Rear 17.0 Mine is set at 4/5
Ride Height: 80 both. Higher! Mine is set to 100, front and back.
Shocks: 10 all
Camber: 2.0/1.0
Toe: 0 both
Stabs: 7 both

Brakes 22 both. Important! Too high and you loose time. Too low and you can't stop. I use a wheel so mine is 6/10. It would be much higher if I used the DS2

LSD
intitial: 25/40
accel: 35/0
decel: 40/0
This is very important! Very close to mine 👍

Gears<- I left it stock
1st 2.758
2nd 2.038
3rd 1.579
4th 1.286
5th 1.101
6th 0.977
final 3.860
auto 18

Down force: max both
VCD: 30%Also Important! Mine is at 20%

Just my thoughts on you're set up. The key to this track is to not over turn the corners. Keep your car pointed down the track as much as you can. If I had to change just 1 thing only on this car, I would increase the LSD settings. It will help stabilize the car in the corners.

How many gears is everybody using?

I think I used 3 1/4 on my best lap. 1st and 6th weren't used and 5th was used only a little on the straight.

GoKents: Sorry, but I'm not buying the less gears is faster at the Week 68 Laguna Seca run. Xtreme's time is 3 tenths faster, the car isn't broken in and he uses all the gears (except 1st gear). There might be a decent arguement for it here this week, but I'll take more gear choices (*edit- closer gear ratios) any day.

No problem but the results speak for themselves.

Plus, if you get the chance I can send you my 18.8 that is so close to clean it is nerve wrecking.

The choice time (imo) to use less gears would be any time you have a powertrain that can produce even & ample power throughout the entire rpm range.

Plus, it doesn't really matter too much since my word is final. ;) :dunce:

In terms of my progress in this... None at all.
After I get some time in with the analyzer I will come back and let you all know if I've got a clean lap this week or not.
Till then I will have an eye out for that killer setup.
(still not sure about springs, bound/ rebound as well as everything else on that first page of settings... oh yeah, down force too! )

Anyway,
Later.
:D

Thanks for the tips GT3mich! 👍

I'll give them a try tonight and see if I can get any closer to your posted splits.

ok...I had time for all of 18miles on this car (bought it fresh from CFM's garage like always)...the lap ain't pretty but it is clean and may be all the time I get to do it, more than i thought I would. I MAY get a little time tomorrow night to try to drop some time off this, I think there is another .6 I can chop of before I have to start to tune...

33.794 / 1'01.953 / 1'25.027

I saw a 1'24.7xx something but blew the final turn and the lap was .023 slower than the one above, ya I blew it that much.

Not bad for 18 miles, but not competitive I know....at least it is something.

 Hehe, well... you certainly win that argument. :)

As far as settings go for this week, check out GT3mich's comments on my settings in the quote. That would be a decent start I assume.

Tried GT3mich's setting adjustments he mentioned I should try. Didn't help me. Actually made me about a second slower at T2 on average. I'm too used to a stiff car I think. I don't like the slow response of a soft car. I do too much correcting for it to move slowly. :P

I just realised I'm losing about 7 tenths over my fastest final sector. I had a bad slide/drift through the asphalt chicane on the way to the finish line, so though my T3 is respectable, my overall time is farther off than I'd like. So far off that I've been behind the 1:20.232 by 4 tenths and still finished ahead of my overall clean time by a couple tenths. I have yet to have a clean faster lap though. :grumpy:

I ran some laps last night also and couldn't beat my quickest lap either. I'm going to try some more today and will DL my fastest run and check it with Arwins program and post the exact settings.

The only blessing of being slow, is that I easily cut of half seconds in every session.

Update:
32.993
1'00.313
1'22.431

Still lots of half seconds out there. :D

Terrible Tigers
T1: 0:32.374
T2: 0:59.454
T3: 1:21.612

T1: 0:32.226
T2: 0:59.288
T3: 1:21.433

I broke my own target lap time, so anything from here on in is a bonus. Thanks for putting up those settings guys, looks like I was doing good by Famine's web page, made a couple of adjustments to stiffen the car a bit... feeling pretty good now. 👍 If anyone wants 'em just holler.

No way - not this week. I havent event turned the PS2 on since getting my fast lap in the Corvette. Im in the middle of doing a 54 hour week and am very tired. Apologies Kent and hopefully I'll have a lot more time to race next week as Im only working overtime for 12 hours, so until then

Good luck to all this week.

I moved my replay over to my PC. Here is where I'm at.

I'm a bit surprised at the LSD settings but those are what I had in the replay. I'm not surprised at the brake settings. At Smokey Mnt, I usually have them set to 1/1.
I have run quick times using a completely different set up so what do I know. Hope some of this helps.

GT3mich
Hope some of this helps.

   Is 4.4 Seconds in One Lap considered a Help??? Gave it another shot today w/two set-ups of my own. One worked well on the Tarmac on the other on the Dirt but yours (from Post #75) worked better immediately, especially on the last Tarmac Section!!! Best times after 10 Laps:

T-1 = 31.986
T-2 = 58.633
T-3 = 1'19.725

"Sloppy" but "Clean" so I know even I can find more time w/proper control of this ride. THANX GT3mich hope I can repay the Favor someday!!!
I'm sure you're gonna bury the GT3Times record for this ride & venue!!! 👍
...UB57 :D

Slightly premature for the USA but right on time for the UK, can't think of a better current thread to post a greeting to my "A.R.C. II & TT8" Nemesis:

"Happy 13th Hugh Jeers"
Dare I say it..."I've got SOCKS Older than That!!!":lol::lol:..."Geezer" :D

Good times UB57 👍

Just been messing around with my earlier setup and have managed to improve somewhat:

T1 31.468
T2 58.351
T2 1,19.684

I'm still losing time everywhere except for the T1 I believe

Sphinx

THANX Sphinx: 👍
:D "Join the Club!!!" Can't wait to see GT3mich's replay! Load 'em both in the analyzer & mine'll look like "A Drunken Sailor" in comparison. He's "Smooth as Silk" & I'm still "All Over the Road"
I've never driven this ride w/Turbo 2 before but it's a real "GAS" that's for sure!!! Hope I can find some more time before Monday!...UB57 :D

Time submitted, no new laps....bringing up the rear in Div 2 this week, maybe even in Div 3 too....only managed time for 18 miles...uggh.

I'm off to Indy with my lovely wife, see you all next week.

Uh, oh, Neils. You're a much faster slow driver than you were a couple of months ago. :) I'm a good couple seconds off all those splits so far.

Kent, I may just have to back out of this one. I don't like adding power to my Rally/Race cars. I will only mess with the settings. So, I'll see you'll in Week 71. :)

WOW!!!
:D I'm, even more impressed today with GT3mich's set-up! Spent an hour in a totally different ride trying to shave a little time off the 5-Lap race I'm sponsoring. Kinda "Hit A Wall" :banghead: so jumped back in the Evo to maybe "Clear My Head." Felt "Perfect" right away & within 6 Laps "Found" a Clean:

T-1 = 31.470'
T-2 = 57.882'
T-3 = 1'19.165

THANX Again GT3mich ...UB57
:D

First session yesterday evening (well, only 3 laps actually).
Best lap had T2=1:02.0 and T3=1:24.4
I don't think I'll have time to practise much more (maybe another 5 or 6 laps tonight).
When I read that some people keep trying for hours, I understand why I'm never on the top spots of my division...

Guys, if you have kids, don't allow them access to your memory card because there is a very high chance of your best clean lap being deleted to make way for a sims game save. :ill: :ill: :ill:

Um, do I know you?

Are you a qualified driver for the weekly race series?

Or should I say registered driver?

Whatever the case, I believe you need to do that... so unless I am mistaken, please, go register and then get back to week 70. :D

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=39439

According to the list in the "Weekly Race Series. Driver Classes thread", banjobear is in second division.
He's also in second on the list boom PM'ed me, when I registered. Beat me with almost a full second in the register race. :irked:

Thankfully I've managed to improve on the clean save I USED to have :( but I still need to work harder on this one, that is, if I can find the time to do so.

31.684
58.375
1,19.683

I think I'm finished, I believe I have a t1 of 32.4xx and a low-59 T2.

Since the server is being moved are the times going to be due later????

Time submitted.

32.237
59.752
1'21.372

What a wonderful week. :D :D
Good luck to the rest of you. 👍
See you next week.
