Anyone have tips on the first turn at the beginning of the track? It's ruining my whole lap getting 12.3-.5 Not too good

Be very deliberate with the brakes on the 1st bend and drop through the gears from 6th to 3rd ... there is a few braking points in turn 1 to let you come out of the bend on the rumbles for turn 2 👍

New save for me has 51.0 T2

seen a few 50.8's .... and there's still loads left

I reckon a 50.3 is on the cards with a well held lap :)

Thanks, this isnt one of my strongest tracks (more like my worst), and I havnt ever used the Esprit before so it looks like im out on a limb for this race. :ill: Anyway, this is my first race in the Weekly Race Series so im betting on a last place finish :sly:

:scared:

I knew it was there, and just a minute ago I was asking myself how low everyone would go this week.

That's a nice lap mr.

1 thing I'm wondering about is where my best possibles could bring me to when strung together.
For some reason it seems that I can now make a 25.0 lead into a 51.1
With that sort of time I am sure that I can make it down to 50.7 or 50.8

Problem is that I keep messing up all of my good laps on the funny turn right after t3.

Btw, Mr P,
Mind if I ask...
What gear are you in for that turn following t3.
Are you dropping it down to 3rd or are you going with 4th and using the rumblies?
Either way I am sure the rumble strip is part of the line, but the gear is still not clear to me.

It's odd because if I go with 4th and don't hit the rumble just right my rpm goes too low.
However, if I go into 3rd it seems like I'm down shifting for no reason.
Plus, when I use 3rd I often make it to the point of needing to shift into 4th, then back down to 3rd for the following set of turns.

So um yeah, :D
Thanks for any advice.
Till next time,
-

Oh yeah, Iceman, I will get to you shortly, kinda busy right now... however, just do your best and keep at it.
Last or first, this is your first week with us, so don't be hard on yourself by expecting too much. ;)

It's certainly a humbling feeling, seeing the Div 1 racers already going under 51s, while I'm still trying to find the extra 0.1s to break through the 52s barrier. It's real surprising seeing how much speed is left in the car.

And I'd also like to know what gear everyone uses in t3. For me, it depends on how I took turn 2. If I exited high, I'll go in 3rd. But if I exit turn 2 slowly, I can take it in 4th.

Hey guys im a new racer in Division 3. Im not going to be able to make it every single week because my job requires me to do alot of traveling, but everytime i get a chance to get on the net and some PS2 time ill race with you guys.

First off, man this is a nice car to run with!! Very fun to drive with nice power. So far ive slowly started to lower my times. This isnt my favorite track by any means but im improving. Compared to all you guys im falling off majorly the second half of the track.

11.852
25.509
53.279

My problem is getting around the corner after T2., I know I should be able to get through that corner fast but its just not happening. Any one have any tips?

Again nice to be racing with you guys
Later
Tc

Evo, I'm in in third, going into fourth as I cross the t1 mark, then it's fourth from that point on.
So 4th really carries me from t1 to t2.

Tc, welcome to the series. :D
About that long turn after t2...
Try to stay on the rumble strip without going into the dirt at all.
It's hard, but after you get the hang of it... :mischievous:

Riding the rumble after t2 can take as much as .5 seconds of a good lap. 👍

Keep at it and I'm sure you will see what I'm saying.

Till I get in some new laps, or until I see some interesting conversations...
Later. :D

I seem to spend most of my life on this lap in 4th gear. 4th carries me from T1 to T2 as well, and I ride the rumblestrips in 4th unless I feel the RPMs start to fall too much.

I've managed to find 3/4 of a second so far today, my engine is finally reaching being fully broken in, but I've just found another 4 tenths on the first sector I can't yet capitalise on. You guys pulling 11.6 aren't sliding at all I'm guessing?

Eagle when i comeing down into corner one im at 169mph and sweet very hard onto the rumble strips tapping the breaks and the back end starts to slide. Coming into the second part of the corner im i sweep back do to the rumble pad. At that point im going the slowest through the enitre corner at 75mph.

Well...I am not going to say this car blows...but is SO doesn't suit me. The more I "tune" the slower I go. It got so bad this afternoon (running nothing lower than 56.x T3s) that I shut the PS2 off, turned it back on, deleted the car from my garage and started over with a new one, I was running low 53.xs with the car using it's base settings.

blah!

2 HOURS LATER
Ok, so the brand spanking new car, base setting again, no TC no ASM, 62miles on it....T3 52.7, but a saved lap with a 53.3...took 2.4secs off my best time...

I got at least .6secs to take off the 53.3 lap before I even dare worry about tuning.

goddamn this bloody british car! haha!

Mr P
New save for me has 51.0 T2

I think even I can beat that ;)

I'll run a few laps at this again tomorrow, I lost all of today to various things, I might coaxe another few tenths out of the car yet but I'm not expecting much, nor really concerned, I'm running a decent pace atm it seems, that's good enough for me :D

Yeeehah! Think I've got the setup of the Lotus sorted, I'm really liking the way this car handles once you get the hang of it. Took Kents advice and broke the car in on the Test Curse with the stage4 turbo, saw 275mph out of it. Back down to stage1 turbo for the challenge and I'm running 523HP.
Been getting gradually quicker and cleaner through here over the past couple of days whenever I had spare moment or two. Got a best clean lap saved of

T1 11.996
T2 25.280
T3 52.084

Had T2 below 25 and T3 below 52 a couple of times but not on clean runs....
Got some tidying up to do, don't think I'll catch Unified, Go Kents or MrP this week, but feeling good about scraping some more 1/10ths off before the deadline.

:)

Glad to hear you're making progress Smallhorses.

I would hopefully be in the same boat, but today and yesterday were all Vice City.
In fact, I beat VC for the first time about 20 minutes ago... still got a lot to do, but for now I can atleast say I have beat the game. :D

So, no progress on my lap, but I will try to get in another go eventually.
Till then,
-

This'll be my first OL race. Apricot Hill is my favorite course, so It'll be good, even though I'm very rusty. Let's hope my registering lap time is good enough...

Wow, I suck.
T1-12.4-ish
T2-27.5-ish
T3-54.8-ish... 👎 That's what you get for being rusty... :(

Event Horizon
This'll be my first OL race..........Wow, I suck.

loltears.gif
Man, if I had a dollar for everytime I heard that, including from myself!

GT3 > VC, one must prioritise ;) Not that I've been playing other games... *whistles*

Well I've managed to find another 7 tenths this morning and I feel there's another 6 to claim...

Now it's lunch time.

Well I found another tenth but the V8s are on so I'm going to have to take another break. I think I might have gone as fast as I'll go actually, despite there being another half second up for grabs.

I too was amazed at my times by comparison the first race, but you get used to it pretty fast. One Step Closer is also a cool song, I'm an LP fan.

Anyway, my actual times are about:

12.0
25.2
52.3

I've been 3 tenths faster at every single split but never kept it together sadly.

Edit: My time is in.

Update:

12.121
25.593
52.421

Don't think there's much more time out there for me. But as the racing looks pretty close this week, I'll keep trying. :D

well, i suck. i got in 1 clean lap this mornig... it was my best yet, though, by 1 second. I now hate AH.

ICH wirst sein nehmend ein keychain wieder ICH meinen. ICH war hoffend für besser , aber mindestens ICH ranntet es. Ich bin hoffend für besser folgend Wettläufen.

518HP????With an oil change it's only 507 or am I wrong?Could you guys give me some advice for in the second sector? In the first it's always 15.8 but in the second it's 56.3!!!That's to slow.

Time Submitted.. Ran a few more laps this morning, but no progress. I'm in the middle of moving so i couldn't put much time into this week, but hopefully i'll be able to participate more next week.
T's for my submission are:
T1: '12.343
T2: '25.318
T3: '51.875

Not great but since I dont like this track, im not too disappointed. See you all on the results page.

12.026
25.725
52.128

I took the last sector very easy, and I did not have a good line in the hairpin, so there is still lots of speed to be found for me, hopefully I can get a T3 under 52.000. I'll do some final runs tomorrow.

507 is the initial BHP, however the car's engine hasn't been broken in yet. Over the initial 300k of running, your engine burns in and rises in power by 3%, hence the 523 all of us are coming out with.

I'm out of this one guys if I haven't told you yet. My Driving Force Pro is kinda screwd up, so I'm getting another one. I might be out of next week also. But I won't do these unless I have the steering wheel.

Time submitted. There's a much better lap out there, I've seen some tantalizing 11.9s that I can't make anything of. Just not enough time this week.

T1: 12.041
T2: 25.464
T3: 52.460.

After 7 laps:
T1: 0'12.558
T2: 0'26.199
T3: 0'53.292

Time still need to come down in order to even compete with Division 3. I'm envious of that 51.8 up there...

i saw a 51.4 with a lap with a t2 of 25.5 but after that my bro kicked me out of his room so no clean laps for me this race. good luck to everyone.
