T3 - 53.5, not happy:grumpy:

Aww, have a hug.

TS020
Ok,sorry for that.Won't do it next time.

Don't sweat it.

12.154
25.629
52.800

Getting better, there's at least another 3 tenths out there but swinging the car around, maintaining momentum and grip and not finding the grass is a pretty tall order. It's sobering to see I'm already a second down by the penultimate mark.

This track is kinda cool in that the biggest factor for a good lap is a smooth and fast navigation of the final chicane, so there really will be some surprises by the time the results appear.

After 10 laps on a stock setting (except for transmission and ride height)

12.405
26.328
53.119

I r teh suck at this track, the first turn destroys me, as I have no idea when to brake for it. I hope to improve my times next time I play, the car needs some tuning.

Speaking of which, I'm surprised at how well behaved the Esprit is, even with no TCS or ASM.

Ditto, again I'm being pleasantly surprised by the car, but when it comes time to slalom, direction changes are teh suck. Uh, do we offer our own personal thoughts on driving line etc or just stick to the times? I know we're here to compete and have fun, but learn too.

Drivers are free, and even encouraged, to discuss lines, settings, techniques and all that. Anything except the total elapsed time. :)

Never driven this car before (the only lotus I ever have used are the Elise(s) which I love)....boy this car sure isn't an Elise. Bought a brand new one, did all the mods to it, oil change got it to 507hp....took it to Apricot and did 62miles with the stock settings and no TC or ASM...just seeing how the car handles. At first it was a pig...but after some laps I began to feel it out and realized braking in a striaight line (something I am bad at I tend to drive deep into the turn while braking, makes sense while I am slow huh?) and braking early are key. Last week really taught me the benefits of braking early and in a straight line and accelerating out.

53.7 T3 was all I managed with those stock setting sans any TC. Next time I sit down at it I'll start tuning. That will be the key this week, tuning for 2 or 3 corners really, if you make those fast you nail the lap. I do love Apricot hill.........

Well,
I just got the car fully broken in.
523 hp is the max.

Quite a powerful car at the stage 4 turbo level.
I used the test track to break in the car and I consistantly ran the test course in under 1'30.000 at over 270mph on the straights (and over 260 in the turns).

So yeah, with all of the upgrades purchased this may be one hell of a car for long race series in sim mode.
I guess you could use stage 4 turbo on stuff like the test course and then switch to something like a stage 2 for all the other stuff (although right now it looks like the 523hp stage 1 turbo would do just fine).

Pwr has come down to about 2.2?? and twr is down to .20?

The car feels good and I'm starting to get into a rythme with the course itself.

I will be back with some times later on,
till then,

Oh yeah...

Fogelhund,
You will need to run the qualifying race and become a registered driver if you plan on turning in a time for this race.
Take your time with it, but be sure to get it done before you turn in any final times for a weekly event (such as this race).
(you can use the link in my sig to get to the registration race :D )

Good luck and have fun. :D

I think the part I'm having trouble is the slow turn before t3, since I have to brake before the indicator tells me to.

Played around with my camber and toe settings, and my T3 is actually 0.2 seconds worse, despite the fact that my final lap time is much, much faster :odd: (I hope that is not violating the discussion rules, if so please edit GoKents)

But, I've managed to hit a T1 of 12.100 a couple of times (give or take .01x seconds...), so at least I'm starting to find a fast route through those tricky first corners.

I have seen T1's of 11.8xx several times but it compromises your speed through the first right turn, however, your time evens out once you reach the T2 mark.

👍 Hareturtle, thanks for that, nice to know.

I'm finding the fastest way home is to sweep in from out wide on the first turn, brake a bit earlier but hug the inside of both of the first turns as much as possible. You can get through in about 12.0 if you do it right and don't have to downshift cause you're sliding on entry, and you're also on the right side of the road for the next turn (the left, of course, unfortunate phrasing), so you can sweep on through. I think my line through turn 5 (blind uphill right hander before T2) is costing me atm.

I'm using the shadow on the road of the last metre board as my braking point before the hairpin and it seems to be working fine.

Nice Car 👍 Best so far ...

11.6 / 25.0 / 51.2

Lots left I think ... the power for only being a stage 1 is awesome :)

I'll definitely get back on this one

Damn!!! Its been a while.

Nice to see how well you've been running the place Kents. I think I'll have a go in this race.
Provided I'm allowed :dopey: and if I can manage this car around the track. :)

Ran three laps.

T1: 12.640
T2: 26.951
T3: 54.752

Will try to improve until my bro moves to his new place and takes the only working PS2 in the house with him.

Any one has a good setup for this car... I'm strugling to get a 53.023 :guilty:

I'm good through T1 12.1XX but loose a lot of time through T2 because of masive
understeer at the up hill section.

I'm running a Set up that Kel left on the Esprit from a previous comp
👍 .... works well and haven't touched it at all :sly:

I'll post it after I pick the kids up from school :)

Laters and Good Luck all

He's like Michael, family man who gets faster.

I'm looking forward to seeing quite what's running your Espirit apart from skill.

How about I just encourage P ?

:D

11.7/24.8/50.9

Still a good little bit to pull off. ;)

Sadly, that's dirty. :(

Actually, my best clean :
51.2

Don't remember the rest, but just like P, I will try and get a setup posted eventually.

Till then,
Keep up on the torturer's trial,

Just coming off an excellent run, my setup is getting closer to how I might run it for the rest of the week. New sector times from fast lap: 12.169/25.783/52.550

Huge improvements, and I've managed to hit a couple of 12.0xx T1s.

Nice times GoKents btw

Heh, just ran a couple of more laps to kill some time, and I finally broke the 12 second barrier, with a time of 11.999 seconds

So um... can we divide Div I into 2 parts? :dopey:

Well, here's the set-up ... and Kelly reckons I'm running it stock

6.3 / 8.5
89/ 89
7/7
7/7
2.0/1.0
0.0 / 0.0
3/3

9/9
10/40/ 20

ASM 0
TCS 5

That's a lot of TCS and LSD, too. And the brakes are low. Guess, I better check it out.

Hmm, I don't run with any ASM or TCS, in fact the low amount of wheelspin present helps me in the hairpin. I also use some toe out both front and rear.

Anyone have tips on the first turn at the beginning of the track? It's ruining my whole lap getting 12.3-.5 Not too good
