Oh yea... forgot to mention... running in the 787B of course... I thought about 'doggin it' in the R390 or GT One... but meh, the 7 is much more fun to drive, and sounds much cooler than the sneezing fit Toyota or groaning Nissan.

With radar love basting out of my radio, I managed to improve my best T2 by more than a full second! Unfortunately, I ran lots of fast but dirty laps with consistent T2s in the low 37s, but I finally got a fastest lap clean with a time of 20.235/37.089. I forgot how sweet the 787B sounds in replays at high RPMs! Not the best handling car in S-Class, but it is just so very fast on the straights!

About half hour of running, just my quickest clean lap so far.
Well I say clean but I probably wouldnt submit this, I run perilessly close to the left wall on the first sweeping left hander, there is no car movement, no loss of speed (infact the speed goes up !!) but I know I can find a quicker lap, so thats where I am at the moment. OK foir Div 2 ?

Ugh, I just lapped for about 30mins, and I only improved my T2 to 37.05x, not even 1/10th of a second worth of improvement (also very small improvement in my overall lap time). It's frustrating when you can make quick laps consistently, yet not be able to improve on them at all. I think I need to make better use of the rumble strip...

Also, count on me trying again.
Some how I doubt I will keep up, but maybe with some luck I will be able to stay with the div 1 pack.
Frankly, I was sorta worried that many of the midfield pros would show up with some really amazing times.
Luckily we're doing mfII so my lack of midfield experience isn't hurting too much. But needless to say, just putting down anything below 36.5 is a difficult task.
To complicate matters, I just cut my thumb while breaking a shellfish for dinner (lobster
:celebration: ).So yeah, my right thumb is on the injured list, but it shouldn't hold me back too much.

It looks like this could be one of the most commonly run spot races ever.
I did 2 counts.
1 with MS word by using word count, 1 by hand, both with the same results.
54 div 1 drivers
86 div 2 drivers
116 div 3 drivers
For a grand total of ...
256 Registered drivers who have all raced the qualification race.
Are there any other spot races with that many entries?
I'm sure there is another big race out there, but anything with 256 entries?

Second session brings my best clean lap to 20.301 37.212
Seen a few 20.0x, and a 37.003, with some obvious opportunities.
Just out of curiosity, what rumbles are you guys (and gal) using. I use the rumble in the first left, of course, and take as much as I honestly can in that next right, but really try to just stay off the inside rumble in the hairpin. I try to just graze the rumble of the right into the second tunnel (near the apex). Most cars I would be right up on it, but it just seems to suck the 787 in sideways if I get too much of it. I'm usually wide of the inside rumble entering the final (double) left, but get some turning help from the inside rumble around the exit.
