Second session brings my best clean lap to 20.301 37.212

Seen a few 20.0x, and a 37.003, with some obvious opportunities.

Just out of curiosity, what rumbles are you guys (and gal) using. I use the rumble in the first left, of course, and take as much as I honestly can in that next right, but really try to just stay off the inside rumble in the hairpin. I try to just graze the rumble of the right into the second tunnel (near the apex). Most cars I would be right up on it, but it just seems to suck the 787 in sideways if I get too much of it. I'm usually wide of the inside rumble entering the final (double) left, but get some turning help from the inside rumble around the exit.

You can use this rumble strip but not too early - If you hit it straight away you get some sideways action as you cant accelerate out but if you hit it kind of just after half-way you can power out and it doesnt suck you round, I think ? !

Just spent the last hour or so practicing and you can run on the rumble strip the whole way round that right hander before the 2nd tunnel, its just a bit hairy !!

I managed to get nearly half a second off my T2 time and Ive brought my total lap time right down by more than a second - I was wimping out at the last double corner !!!

20.293 and 37.171

I practised 30 laps in total, and on this long right hander I'd rather stay wide, brake late, turn and then accelerate, as if it was a hairpin. This way I'm in no way close to the inside rumble strip. When I am on it, I always lose grip on the rear and go spinning. :ouch:

I think its best to go in wide then accel through the corner 👍

I think 130-135 is just before you lose traction as start sliding !

The first set of turns are key to a good first sector ... but it's all swings and roundabouts. Sometimes a slightly slower first sector can mean a better second sector. I think it's best to stay clear of the rumble strips on the first sharp right and on the long right hander. Any sort of acceleration on the strips tends to make the car unstable and results in a spin.

best lap so far,
19.495
36.337

But i saw a 19.450 with a 35.760
Just went in the grass a little bit in the second turn. grrrrrr

Update:

20.545
37.396

Getting there slowly. And when I get there, everybody moved on. :dopey:

Saw a 36.2 but botched it through the final turn. Improved marginally however with a slightly faster T time than my previous 36.6.

Some improvement. :D

19.544
36.164

And my final time was way better, there is alot to gain in the last turn to.

later

I saw some 36.8 earlier tonight, but then I found a better way through the last left turns, so my new best clean lap says : 20.297 / 36.923
I hope I can get another half a second by the deadline, for once that Niels is slower than me ;)

20.178
36.925

After around 10 minutes. I will continue to run.

I hope I win 3rd division again. And this time I will post up my analyzer.

I had 30 more laps, and lap #26 was a good one for me : 20.159 / 36.817, with a .28 improvement on the total lap time.
Having seen a 20.020 in the same session, I know there is an easy 0.14 I can get ; but it's gonna be for tomorrow.

Tuff, any plan to update your page ? 💡

If I finish my run through the Pro-All Stars in the Mitsubishi FTO LM Race Car, I'll give this one a shot. ;)

I might try this; simple enough concept. But I'm not sure where my game is and, worst of all, I mixed up my controllers, so now I'll have to test them to see which one is working better. One's better. Ah well.

Finally, I broke into the 36 second club, with numerous 36.9xx runs, and a new personal fast T2 of 36.863. T1s are also looking better for me, I'm almost always in the low 20s, if not into the high 19s.

Guys, I don't know if i'll be able to do any of these until thanksgiving break. Or some day off.

School the source, and homework is the problem.

flat-out

Ha. I'm the slow one, flat-out. And from you kindly updating on DB 👍, I can tell you got a solid margin. ;)

So don't turn things around here. You're the favorite. :boggled: You should achieve. :ill: The pressure is on entirely on you. :nervous: Feel the burden? :scared:

I too manager to break into 36 sec. I managed 20.070 36.798 so thats 4/10ths better than my last record and the final time is 4.5/10ths quicker.

Are we going to break the minute barrier this week ? If I compare my T2 split with Mr P - you must be really close to breaking the minute barrier Ron 👍

With the clean sector times I've seen, the minute is definitely within reach (I think) - all one needs is to get those clean sectors ONE lap :grumpy:
So I wouldn't be surprised if Ron or Kell is there ;)

(Todays dilemma - Live Music and beer from tab - or looking for that perfect W79 lap.....)

Nice try Niels, but the only thing that puts me under pressure is seeing a blue T time gap instead of a red one. That usually results in missing the next braking point.

As for DB, I updated indeed, I hoped some people would be doing the same.

I don't think I'm any favorite : you only have to solve your problem in the first sector to get the 0.5 you need to have the same T2 as mine. And you have a full week-end for that...
Here is how I did this first sector in my current best lap :
Starting line : 280 km/h, 5th gear
Braking point : under 100m sign, 307 km/h, 5th
Left turn : 220 km/h, 4th
Right turn before tunnel : turn early, 210 km/h, 4th
Hairpin : outside-inside-outside, minimum 77 km/h, 2nd
Left turn : flat-out , 3rd
Right turn : flat-out, 4th

That made a 20.297 but I also got a few 20.0 when I could keep my minimum speed in the hairpin around 100 km/h
I hope it helps... but not too much ;)

Shh! No discussion on final lap times is allowed... GK will roast you alive... :D

You'll just have to wait and see ;)

Yes please Ron ! It would be good to see a 19.5 T1 cos apart from the hairpin theres not too much else you can do wrong yet you still have nearly a second on my T1
