Got my Lister on full power :)

Update:
T1: 19.332
T2: 35.618
T3: 53.825

Lost some time in the first and last section, but I'm happy with my lap ;)
Didn't change anything to the settings, I really like them the way they are!

lol 51.6. :D

Not as bad as my 44.8 lol.

As for me,
Still only at 130 miles on the car with 618 hp (roughly).
I'm getting there though. :D

Also have some new T times.
T1: ?????
T2: 35.9
T3: 54.5

Back later if I can get any racing in.
Till then,
-Kent :D

btw, great work hugo 👍

51.6

Although it is nice to see my name on the top of the leaderboard!

*edit* Ran some laps, and pulled off a 18.4xx/35.9xx/54.449, but I lost it on the second to last corner. (I don't remember the specific T1 and 2 times).

I'm such a dork :dunce:

My apologies, Ev0. Ev0 posted his time correctly, I mis-typed it into the leaderboard. Typos seem to be getting the better of me more often than I'd like :grumpy: I usually update the leaderboard when I wake up in the morning, before work. Next time, I'll wait until both my eyes are open ... or maybe I should go have a drink first, and see if it improves my typing ...

Can I join the club. :dunce:

My T2 is mistyped too. Not by you, but by me. :dunce:

Supposed to be 36.517 not 35.517.

Just discovered it, when I saw the flashing red in your great leaderboard. 👍 I'll hurry up and edit my post now.

Been doing some work on this today, and I'm in the 54's, with consistent 36.1-36.3 T2's. Losing most of my time in the corkscrew, and I'm not consistent with the line. If I can improve my T1 which is around 19.6, I think I can get into the mid to low 54's. Anyone have any tips on the first corner?

Anyone have any tips on the first corner?

Start breaking when the dirt on the right side before the corner begins. Don't stear stearing into it too early, leave some space on the inside and make sure you hit the apex at the end of the corner (slightly hit the curb on the inside), so you can exit the corner faster.
For the following righthander, start on the outside as well and start breaking one car length after the '2' sign. Steer into the corner and exit it flat out. You're T2 will be around 19.1-19.3, depending on how neat you take those corners.

I hope it helps :dopey:

Thanks Hugo, I'll see if I can improve with these tips. *goes off to run some laps*

Grrrr. Another week gone. 👎
Shame, after all the time I spent doing TM 2hr Enduro (10 attempts!) to win the Lister, this would've been a perfect opportunity to put it to use.
Got back from Tahoe on Monday night, call from my boss's boss on Tueday morning to ask why I wasn't on a plane to Seattle? 'Cos I wasn't bloody well supposed to be! A heated exchange later and.... you've guessed it, I'm in Seattle for the rest of the week. Bugger.
Hopefully, fingers crossed, I'll get a chance over the weekend, but it doesn't look overly likely.
Great racing by the looks of the leaderboard, and I'll be back on there in week 99!

My first time in the WRS, I came to this forum to see how I stack up and after an hour or so my best time is.....

20/38/58

damn you guys are fast.

There's lots of areas I can improve on, I just can't get it together, i'll try some more on the weekend.

Welcome to GTPlanet and the WRS, Corps :)

You might want to check out Mr P's run at Laguna Seca in a JGTC Skyline from week 85 to help you find the line:

Mr P - Loctite Zexel @ Laguna Seca

Don't be afraid to ask questions, the WRS is pretty easy-going and there's always someone with good advice 👍

Also, just a suggestion, when you post your split times, it's good to include at least the first digit after the decimal place (i.e. 20.x / 38.x / 58.x). The one second difference between 20.0 and 20.9 is a lot, especially on a week as close as this one (Check out the Leaderboard to see the current standings :) )

Yea, I said the time off hte top of my head and didn't save the replay.

I just tried Kent's settings on the first page and got 20.4/37.6/57.3.

I watched the video and saw a couple of lines I'll try out next time.

thanks for the link!

Did get a T3 of 54.1xx but took the following corner like a dick. :)
But I have improved on my time.👍

T1 19.396
T2 35.993
T3 54.454

Hello and welcome Corps!
We all have been in your position. Races with these guys will improve your driving and tuning abilities incredibly. The fastest guys are almost always extremely helpful and willing to share their knowledge of the game.

We've all been where you're at right now. You think you are ultra fast, you beet all your friends and everyone you get a chance to race. Then you come here to see guys doing lap times that seem nearly impossible. Welcome to the next level of GT3. :D 👍
Few make it this far and even fewer stick it out to become faster.
The trust and comradery here is awesome, pull up a seat, fire up the PS2 and welcome to the party.

2 or 3 of the posts in this thread mention increasing the BHP of the lister. Do you have to run the car in to do this? Oil change?? Can anyone give me any advice??👍

Just keep racing, I noticed at around 60 miles it was up to 600+

At around 120 right now, it's up to 616

First time I ever noticed this

After you've run 200 miles (same distance for every car), do an oil change, and you'll have the full 623hp.

It's a good idea to save your game at this point, because as you keep racing your engine will deteriorate. If you've saved, you can reload the game to a just-broken-in car with max hp.

You only need to break in dealer-bought cars, prizecars are already broken in for you :)
