I just got around to doing some practice laps just a moment ago. For what it's worth, my best lap was a 1'04.361 on the 6th lap of the first stint...although I ended up parking it after that lap, so I'm not sure if the tires might have had a bit more left in them. I think pole will likely be right around a mid 1'04, and the best possible lap in a 10 minute window (which is the length of qualy IIRC) would probably be a very low 1'04, although a 1'03 might be possible with perfect driving and the other variables (tires/fuel load) working in your favor.
This car is rather odd around here though. It seems like in almost every corner it has some balance issue that you have to drive around
Glad you found the time Nick...I knew it was just a matter of practice
Regarding the technical nature of Tsukuba - Personally I only find Tsukuba to be technical/challenging in that you must be very accurate with your inputs/technique (particularly steering and trail braking) in order to maximize the lap time. In terms of finding the racing line I don't think it's all that difficult though, mainly because most of the turns are rather straight forward (it just becomes a matter of understanding how to balance the car in and out of the hairpins and executing the proper inputs), and more importantly there aren't really any corners that you have to link together in the most optimal manner (say Nurb F, Cape Ring, Eifiel track in GT-A, etc.), or turns that are very hard to judge (like turn 3 at Indy - the long right hander).
I guess it's all a matter of how one defines "technical/challenging" in terms of the characteristics of a circuit 👍
