The BMW M3 Sport Evo can win on hard difficulty. I got the lead around lap 4~5 then started pulling away. No need for corner cutting.

You can build up momentum in nearly every corner and use closer gear ratios to make up for the lack of power / top speed. Your worst enemies are not the AI starting in the top 5 positions; but rather the first 10 AI in front of you.

I was driving on the ragged edge, but having a lot of fun.

ohhkay then.. i need to get good times 10

@ROCKET JOE great to hear about someone actually doing something to fight the grind, rather than moan about it.

It's true, these DTM (and other) Special Events are a great solution to GT7 burnout. Maybe that's why PD didn't include them in the game early on...

Because we'd be sick to death of them by now.

Absolutely loving the weekly races with period-correct touring cars

A quick note for randomiser users: I've spent my morning this morning refactoring the back end code to make supporting new car/track/event content easier for me.

You shouldn't notice anything different while using it, but it was a fairly extensive rewrite so I figured it was worth notifying you all just in case a bug crept in somewhere.

I tackled the weeklies all in one go.

1) Sunday Cup Classic @ Maggiore Center

Not too much to say, randomizer gave me the 356 Coupe but my 550pp Praiano one was definitely an overkill. CRB and first ticket obtained.

2) European Clubman Cup 600 @ Alsace Village

For this one it was my first ever drive of the Countach Anniversary, which was completely stock except for SH tires. This was such a pleasure to drive, this track gets a lot of hate (and I certainly don't like it myself) but it can prove to be a fun technical track, it fit nicely the old Lamborghini V12 even though it has quite some understeer while braking. Overtook Beauvois on the last lap and cruised for a nice win, no CRB unfortunately.

3) Evolution Meeting @ Monza

Nobody will ever convince me that this race exists for any other reason than honoring an old legend of Italian trash YouTube (search for Lancer Evo vs Punto Monza curve a granchio on YouTube if you're interested), because other than that it's a terrible pairing for an event. Didn't really want to spend too much to give my Sudo Kyoichi Evo III enough power for the Monza straights so I only bought upgrades from the Sport section of the tuning shop plus a low pressure turbo (and of course the MISFIRING SYSTEM), and managed a P3. Enough for me since I had already won this race before in the Escudo Evo X. Second money ticket obtained.

4) American Clubman Cup 700 @ Bathurst

It was time for the SCPD to stop yet another underground street race, but there was that one fugitive that was too much even for the powerful Hellcat squad car. So the SCPD decided to honor all the previous medals obtained by the officer and gave the car a massive upgrade, hitting the suggested 700pp limit spot on. The Spanish fugitive was still super fast, even faster than the Hellcat (now with more than 800 hp) on the straights, but there's no escaping the law and he was eventually contained.

5) DTM @ Spa-Francorchamps

I know the randomizer gave me the Alfa for this, but that's the only car it gives for DTM events so I followed my heart and went in with the E30, given that the Alfa had always felt like a cheat code the previous times. And my choice was a good one, this car is super fun! Always ready to boit you when coming out of a slow corner, nimble and light, and with such a divine engine note! Also it's super competitive, I managed to win (on normal as always) despite sBinning twice, last time in Catalunya I had a much harder time. Super super fun race, shame to see it go so soon.

In the pic above: a Valentino Rossi-like overtake at the end of Kemmel which definetly needed to be pictured. No idea how I did manage to complete that.

Final ticket was the 6* which gave me 500k, not good and not bad, I'll take it. Daily was a 3* that gave me a semi-racing exhaust for the 2013 Viper 🤢

Today I revisited the American Clubman 700 at Mount Panorama, this time with a 700+ HP Dodge Charger. And that was fun!

Another american car added to my favorite cars' tab. 😎

Final result (normal difficulty)

I did a Vettel 2018 at the very last turn, lost my 10 seconds gap. ☹️

Which tyres did you use?

I tried few times running it with sports hard and without aero (I don't like the visual of the rear wing on the Charger) but with no sucess.

I ended up with racing hards and aero parts set to the max so I could tame it (not the ugly rear wing, but the second to last one). My main problem were the braking zone at The Chase. The tyres and aero solved it. Maybe later I'll try the aero set to max (again) and a sport hards set of tyre.

I’ve been using the CHC nova on SH and only managing 2nd but haven’t dialled in the tune yet, might try RH and see how it changes things

I just realized the Porsche 356 and Ford GT I used for the 1st and 4th races had Gulf Liveries by coincidence!

Think PD changed the AI/boost effect for the DTM cars on this weekly race

My Audi Evolution A-IV just missed out on the top spot

What was the tune on your Audi BTCC Evo? Under 700pp on Racing Hards?

Great livery, by the way. It made me do a hard double-take.

I dinna know that patrol cars had aero? 🙃
Super Duper Special Interceptor Package. Best not to look at that police department's budget for this year ... 🙃

Hi there!

Sunday night and I came back to Mount Panorama, this time trying to tame the Charger with sport tyres. I had no control and lots of wheel spinning with the hard set. Things were more or less the same with the medium set, so I ended up with the soft compound.

First run I got lucky I believe, because the C8 driver got stuck in traffic. I ran the event again and I got it. 😁 (Edit: normal difficulty)

This run were inconsistent as it can be, there are parts of the track I do different approaches every other lap because I was still trying to figure it out how to drive it. This and the mistakes here and there were caused by my poor skills. ☹️

But I still think this car (and the event) both are super fun!

Here are my pics for this week's races. I am not a fan of the "end-of-race" pics so next week i will continue with action race pics.
I was able to run three of this weeks runs with one car Merc 190E in DTM livery and settings.

Love that 356!

I tried the American Clubman Cup 700 with a 600pp C2 corvette and that C8 is just to fast.

Normal difficulty.

Maybe if the C8 gets stuck in traffic and starts last you may have a chance.

My setup if anyone else what's to try it.:)

One thing I did struggle with is braking the car what's to go left or right under heavy braking.

Is your brake balance all the way to the front? Try making it +3 to the rear. That should help a bit. Also put a full-LSD on it. Usually that also reduces pp as well and will help keep it straight.

Try to get the suspension stiffer maybe? Increase the natural frequency and anti roll bars value.

Got the chance to do the WTC last night. One of my wife's friends called and they hadn't spoken in awhile so I went up front and fired up GT7. I did the usual and started at the last race. I was going to take the Valkyrie out but I wanted not to use it at all for this WTC so i chose one of my 155s. It was very easy for I had about a 30 second lead by the 3rd lap. On the first lap I spun out at Curve Paul Frere and I was getting back on track I ran into the AI and caused a yellow flag 🤣 I passed the AI so no CRB for me. Eventually I caught and passed the leading Mercs and got a sizable lead which I lost because I spun out at Curve Paul 2 more times 🤣. Basically I just refused to slow down enough to keep all four wheels on the tracks so I kept spinning out. So my 30 sec lead dropped down about 2.5 seconds when I crossed the finish line

For The American race I used my Tomahawk S for the easy win but in keeping with my theme for the day I caused a couple of accidents 🤣 . The first one there 4 cars in front of me so instead of waiting patiently for an opening I tried to go around them on a curve not a wide one mind you. So needless to say I got through but only after contacting 3 out of the 4 cars. I think I thought I was playing Wreckfest last night so that's what I chalk it up to. Next on the next to last lap I took a curve too fast and spun out. Got the win thanks to my first lap demo of the top four cars

Next I took the Final Evo to Alsace and yes I did spin out and crash but just once this time. It was pretty bad as I forgot where the finish line was and I took hand off the controller looking the finish sign only to hit the wall luckily I built up a big enough lead to win 🤣

Next up the European 600 I used the Guila GT-AM it was most stock outside of changing the wheels. This was my first accident free race which it a very quick race.

1934030171699-screenshotUrl.jpg

Finally I want to see how fast I could do the Sunday cup and I chose the Lambo VGT. I was a little disappointed in that I didn't have a spun out or other type of accident 🤣

I got 30k cr from a 4⭐🎫 and GT 500 NSX 08 from the 6 ⭐🎫

DO NOT CHANGE THE CLOCK BACK OR FORWARD, this WILL prevent you from getting tickets properly, it will reset after 48 hours.
I've never done that but still had a ticket free week a while ago.

Top tip - if you don't get the first ticket for the week, you won't get the other 2 either, so you can stop at that point if you wish and wait for the next week.
