Fuji was actually quite fun in the Mazdas, though a bit too easy.

Happy not to have any FPS issues in the Daytona race, might be a benefit of using the 120fps mode now and VRR.

My Afeela destroyed the competition at Trial Mountain - EVs are the future!

Used a Jimny for the Sunday Cup and a lovely old 911 Turbo at Laguna Seca (got beaten on the drag to the line by its descendant).

As ever the parts prize gave me the shaft.

I equipped four road cars with SM tyres and they all reverted to their CM and SH defaults. That was at Suzuka.

Edit: I bought SM tyres for the R32 and added it to the grid of other cars equipped with SM.

Yeh I don't doubt you at all. On my machine they are using all compounds. Ran a 24 lap custom at monza last night.

*edited: You are correct they were comfort softs. Ugh PD!

I did the this this week challenge early this morning and I used the Bugatti CGT Gr.1 at Daytona. It can do a no pitstop race but I did put on lap 8 because I was a little bit worried about the tires

Next up I used the Miata touring car at Fuji I made it harder than it needs to be by taking a couple of curves about 30 mph too fast 😁

Next up I took the 904 to Laguna Seca. I won but again I drove the 904 like it was a rally car so there was a lot of air from hit kerbs. Again too fast in curves I finally buckled down for that last couple off laps and kept all 4 wheels on the pavement 😁

Next I used a swapped Alphard at Trial Mountain. It was an easy race for me and it was the 1st race I where I stayed in bumper view the entire time as it hard to see the cars in front of me in Chase mode with the van

Finally I took my favorite Sunday Cup car out the Valkyrie

I got brakes from the part ticket and got another Valkyrie which I decided to keep since I never got around to getting a 2nd one.

You too can be a sex machine... ;)
Son of a beach , i got a VGT worth 359 K and with price up to 5% 😬

@Fezzik isn't the original shaft what you get , the original is black and round 😂

I know we're not exactly playing a Soulsborne here.

But wow, even by GT standards this Roadster race was really easy. They got the Civic TC races - IMO the gold standard of special event races - so right, but these Roadster ones have felt off the mark to me despite having the same formula (there's a Touring Car, but you can tune up the base model if you want).

With these weekly challenges, it gonna take a loooooong time to obtain those 20 mil unicorns 🤣 I'm currently sitting on around 7 million.
Well past grinding, though. Just can't be a*****

Last night I completed the weekly races motivated only by the chance of getting a nice and expensive car from the final ticket. An hour later, there I was getting a Mazda LM 55 VGT whatever. Sold the damn thing for 500k and a change.

What a let down. 😐

On the other hand, the Mazda special event once again was the best part of the weeklies. 😀

I nearly always get VGTs from the car tickets. On the one hand it is a disappointment, but on the other, if I ever do make it a goal to collect every car in the game, acquiring a lot of the VGTs this way will save me a lot of misery having to save up just to buy them.

Done them all yesterday, it was a quick week also due to me not having that much time in the upcoming days.

1) Sunday Cup @ Lago Maggiore Centro

The Toyota Aqua is overpowered thanks to hybrid power in this tier, stock car with only look cool stuff won by a gazillion. Super boring race though, and a super boring drive.

Parts ticket didn't shaft me, I won carbon brakes for the Porsche Cayman GT4.

2) Japanese 4WD Challenge @ Trial Mountain

Stock EVO X for this one, only some Sport suspensions to close that wheel gap. Overtook Hizal after the tunnel on lap 2 and carried on to a CRB victory, definetly a more fun race compared to the previous one. This car is a beauty to drive.

3) Porsche Cup @ Laguna Seca

The Turbo S gets its revenge after last week, when I lost the race by spinning the car at the last corner of the last lap. This time the stock car won easily, by overtaking everyone's favourite Porsche rival Carrazza on lap 3. No CRB but fun race regardless, won the 150k ticket.

4) Mazda MX-5 NA Special @ Fuji

I was considering buying a stock Roadster TC for this event, but eventually decided I felt like driving my R26-swapped one. Obviously cruised to a super duper easy victory, no CRB because "150m feels too early to brake for turn 1, let's try to brake a bit further".

5) WTC 800 @ Daytona International

Taking this on in the old Skyline wasn't really a super easy task, but still it was a more than achievable victory. Instead I misjudged fuel usage and did the first stint in FM3, having to pit for fuel on lap 4 and forcing me to continue on FM6 in order to only do one stop, and also spun the car once. Regardless I didn't restart and kept on driving, and eventually finished P2 only a couple seconds behind Portilla. Can't complain, it was enough to complete the challenges.

Car ticket gave me an Alpine VGT Race Mode which I already had and sold for close to 500k.

This week I decided it's more fun taking a gun to a knife fight (yep, i was feeling kinda lazy!) so in most cases my win margins were slightly ridiculous.

Starting with the Sunday Cup, I took a recently purchased DB11 at 600PP for a quick blast. By less than halfway through lap 1 I was in the lead and won by absolutely miles. CRB and ticket collected - Carbon Ceramic Brakes for a car I cant remember...

Then off to Trial Mountain and I opted for my widebody R34 with the R92CP engine and just under 700PP. Stomped it, as expected.

At Laguna Seca my first attempt was in the Carrera GT, stock with SM tyres, and worked my way through the field but only just managed 2nd about 3s behind the 992 Turbo S. So tried a second time with a 991 GT3 RS and won by a country mile. This gave me the credit ticket and my daily workout (a whole 10k...).

Fuji in my tuned Roadster NA was another relatively easy win, even though it's not very heavily tuned. Struggled on the straight as I've got it balanced more for handling than top end, but managed to sneak ahead on lap 3 and hold on to an 8s win.

Finally at Daytona, I went for the Gr.2 McLaren detuned to 799.99 PP and drove easy to win by 26s with a one-stop.

Having cleaned my guns down and put them back in the gun locker, I opened up my 6* car ticket to claim a Porsche VGT Roadster; and proceeded to sell it for 650k credits.

I'll just leave this here.

As I saw it, the AI had its "pre-programmed" driving line and you were just in HIS way...if you watch you can see he turns in the proper point for the apex turn and follows through, and everyone knows the AI cannot be pushed off that pre-programmed line easily, nor will they try to avoid hitting other cars.

Perhaps you're right that he's just following the pre-programmed driving line. The problem then seems to be that the pre-programmed driving line is terrible, as the AI turns in too early and hits the apex way too early (the optimal racing line is where you hit the apex where the bollard is)

Example:

the AI turns in too early and hits the apex way too early
well this way it will need to brake again while going around the turn, and if you are too close and not paying attention, you will rear end it

the thing I can't figure out is why sometimes AI drives like the player does not exist, and sometimes it moves accordingly to what player does, feeling like the "I" of AI is doing something, while most of the time it is like playing in a replay where the player was not there at the time or recording.
