Patience doesn't help much when you inevitably run into a couple of snails side by side, some 50 km/h slower than what would be appropriate for the corner, and begin looking for a overtaking spot. Meanwhile one of those you've already passed decides to be the hottest name of the day and brakes like there was an empty track instead of you three crawling along and pinballs the entire lot to shadow realm. In my first couple of tries it was the Ferrari after which I learned to pass the next two ones quickly even with a bit of a risk.

First attempt at Panorama and I used the Mustang for funsies... sitting at 716PP on hards. I ran fuel map 3 (I wonder what the PP would be at 3) for most of the race, and despite a somewhat sloppy run was running down first place...

Literally crossing the line to begin the final lap with 40sec on the clock everything went black. I couldn't believe it.
Tempted to use something a little more meta the next time around. The Mustang is pretty oversteery and seemed to be fairly outpaced in stock form.
What is everyone else using?

I actually attempted to podium on Willow Neo Classic race with the recommended car, the Castrol Supra. Is this a realistic recommendation? I tried 3 times, RS, RM and without added turbo with short shifting. Still needed to pit and not even in top ten. Most other races the recommended car is good. Hard difficulty

Not especially - it's just that the car is not a good choice. The leading cars are Gr.1 (Group C, specifically), and they'll slap you silly if you try a Gr.3 car.
When I ran it I had a very comfortable win in the Gr.2 Toyota TS020. The lead cars could just about match my outright lap pace but not consistently - especially once they encountered traffic - and I didn't need to pit either.

I mean they did that on purpose. Either to reduce fun or stop a fresh race with a decent payout be repeated even if for a week. Pd trolling has reached new heights. Imo it seems the dislike of their fan base is growing.
I'm pretty salty overall honestly. Besides terrible gifts from the holiday campaign my 1 million dollar ticket glitched this week and I never got it. Thanks PD. Hour wasted for 100000. I tried to repeat a completed race and nothing. I'll be taking a step back for awhile anyway. Sick of getting teased with the Bugatti invite weekly and not getting it for years now. Not quitting but definitely need time as it stopped being fun.
I thought it was strange that PD recommended that GR3 Supra against Group C cars. Usually their recommended car works to win ( when I’ve tried them). I though maybe there was a specific pit strategy that would get it done that I couldn’t figure out.
I got P5 with the Maclaren F1 Race car GR2 but ultimately won in the GR1 Sauber Mercedes

Hard attempt, 1 stop meds in an unmodified 911 RSR.
Stopped just before the line to avoid doing a final short-shift FM6 lap. At that point I was 5th and 48 secs behind the leader.
Pretty much the same overall time as the winner. In a race with a proper start that would’ve been a great competition, but not in dumb GT’s “begin 1/3 of the lap behind the rabbit” world. I’m so fed up of this game. Bring on AC Evo.

This Neo Classic is also probably the hardest given the AI can sometimes run 1:06 every lap and only need a tiny bit of fuel with a lap to go. I also tried the McLaren and ended up 6 seconds behind the leader, the order of the field and if they get caught in traffic can drastically change how hard the race is too. I think you could probably win the one at Red Bull Ring with the Supra given the AI will usually mess up their strategy if it rains.

Got my most personally frustrating races out of the way first, Group B Rallying at Catalunya / Barcelona and the Neo Classic at Big Willow.
The rest of my time will be spent throwing maxed out road cars at theBathtub 
(thanks @smoothbore12 ) Bathurst Endurance event. Tires have been more of a problem than fuel so far, and refueling is very quick, so yeah, road cars all the way!
All races on hard difficulty.

Many restarts, and many times shoved into the wall by the AI.

I should have used the Lamborghini Urus, because it's a better battering ram

European Sunday Cup 500: Porsche 911 GT3 (997). Pure stock, no real major modifications. Felt just fine despite not having the sort of fixing up I did to my Cup car build did.
World Rally Challenge GR.B: Ford Focus GR.B. Unsurprisingly, its typical rallycross as is the case in Real Life (though the field is admittedly bigger) so I didn't even bother trying to go for the Clean Race bonus knowing the AI are just hilarious.
The Silvia Sisters: Nissan Silvia Spec R Aero. As mentioned in the Weekly Race Guide video, its a car I previously used before in those races so not much work. While I was absolutely left for dead on the straights, the Braking and cornering pulls me right back in. So good was my car on brakes and cornering that I was able to get at least a second and a half before going on the straight on the final lap.
Neo-Classic Competition: Jaguar XJR-9. Same as before when I finally completed the race the first time: Downforce reduction but big power and Racing hards coupled with some short shifting (Something I've practiced heavily with the Honda NSX GT500 car when grinding the WTC 700 event at Le Mans). Difficult at first with how stack up the field is for the first two laps but the wear on the cars in front AND the Fuel saving slowly brought me forward. While my Racing Hards were getting to a point that the car was slightly more difficult to handle, I had enough to hold off Hizal and take a win with 2 laps of Fuel to spare.
World Touring Car 800: BMW Mclaren F1 GTR. Given the tight turnaround time I usually have between recording myself doing these events and posting the videos (because the Youtube Algorithm waits for no one), I just figured I'd use the car I already use to grind the WTC 800 race at Sardegna (Well, at least rotate with the Mercedes CLK LM when I want some V8 noise for abit). Ai is frustraiting to pass here. Somehow they are simultaneously too slow, too conservative, too aggressive AND too incapable of being spatially aware all at once. Despite this inconvenience, I managed two stops and easily got the win. I MAY try with a GR.3 car (just a matter of which one) now that I don't have time constraints with the video much like I did with trying all the Group C cars at the previous Special Event.
Speaking of which, my impressions having tryed all five Group C cars before the change over:
Porsche 962C: Definately the best handling of the bunch. It felt overall the most responsive and most planted, to the point where I don't even brake going into the final corners. It even handles my patented Robby Gordon/"Throw it in there" driving at the Bus stop chicane the best.
Nissan R92CP: Unsurprisingly powerful but despite being much newer then basically all the others (it is a 1992 baby after all), It didn't feel as sharp or responsive. Biggest advantage was that power but this thing hates the tighter corners and gets really fussy if you try to feather through the final corner. It weirdly does handle the Bus Stop Chicane though.
Mazda 787B: Felt this would be the best of the top 2, having around or less of the Porsche's power and handling while being abit more modern like the Nissan. Weirdly like the Nissan, it also has a big averson to Tighter corners and felt abit more finnicky in the Bus stop.
Sauber Mercedes C9: This was something I was expecting to be more like the Nissan with all the power but shockingly, it was actually closer to the Porsche. So it has the Porsche's planted and responsive handling AND the power of the Nissan. Pleasantly surprised that it even handled the Bus Stop Chicane with a similar response.
Jaguar XJR-9: Wasn't sure what to expect with this car, but I was again surprised. Out of it and the Mercedes, this felt even closer to the Porsche (Despite having an even bigger engine). I could drive those final corners in exactly the same matter and same could be said for the Chicane

With my weakness for Mt. Panorama it was clear I had to return to Bathurst. After running with the R92CP and the Gallardo on Friday night, I've taken 5 other cars to the race, cars I hardly ever drive. And what can I say, it's been sheer pleasure, it's been relaxation, even meditation spending all these hours there. And btw I couldn't care less that the payout is low - it's GT after all, it's not my job.
In general, I had set them all up on RM tires with a PP level of about 750, enough to fight for the podium without the need to drive like a madman. That's what I thought. Winning every race came as a surprise, I really didn't expect that.
Now the first candidate was the Ford GT LM Test car which has been fascinating me in a special way ever since GT4. The Ford is thirsty.
FM3 throughout the race, two pitstops after 12 and 24 laps. 2.02 - 2.03 laps on average. The car is reliably quick and predictable in most situations, but don't ever get sloppy or it will try to kill you. And what a growl ...
I didn't have any idea what to expect from the Aston Martin DBR9 and the Renault RS 01. To be honest I was a bit pessimistic but both cars have been surprising me positively. The driving is quite different, the lap times however and the race progress were very similar - a one stop race on FM2, 2.00 - 2.01 laps on average. Should I mention that the race with the Renault has been the only one with a nail biting finish ? I had closed up to the leader finally with 12 minutes left on the clock. When trying to overtake him approaching the Chase, the guy spun me out, desperately trying to keep the line, and it took me an eternity to get back on track. Lost 25 seconds - I DiD nOt WAnT tO dRiVe lIkE A maDMaN !
Well now, the Audi RS 5, the only one with a higher PP level of about 790. I had used the car once in a former Weekly Challenge, since yesterday I know why some call it a cheat code. When running down the Mountain Straight for the first time, I was sure to lose the race for the low top end of the car, at Forest Elbow I knew I'd blow them all away. The Audi's got unbelievable performance at the twisty mountain part, there's nothing as stable and planted as this car. If you ever feel like pedal to the metal here you go ... FM 2, a single pitstop. 1.58 - 2.00 laps on average. I've easily lapped everyone btw.
The last car I tried in the morning was the GT by Citroen. Nothing to remember sadly ! Individual preferences I guess. The race went fine, FM3 all the time, a single stop after 30 minutes, laps in the 2.04 - 2.05 range, quite an easy win all in all. But ... the most exciting thing was I got another short glimpse of GT AI greatness when trying to overtake the Genesis at Skyline. My guess is he couldn't decide between keeping the line and keeping it clean, shot straight into the run off, then across the track and into the barrier. Missed me by a meter. Puh !

Besides the Mount Panorama challenge this weeks races didn't look so great at first glance, but ended being a lot of fun. The Special Event was, of course, the star of the show.
Used a stock Megane for the Euro 500. Easy win. Great car.
Took the GC WRC Impreza to Catalunya, another easy, albeit messy, win.
Used a VR38 swapped S13 for the Silvia sisters race just to get it over with... again easy win, but I have never really enjoyed this specific series. Too much power in the AI cars and no real driving challenge.
Wasn't looking forward to the Neo-Classic either, but it ended up being a really fun run in the R92CP. It's such a calm, planted and capable car in bone stock form. No fuel stop, no tires, and another easy win.
Now for the star of the show, the Special Event at MP, and I 100% agree with @ROCKET JOE in that this is an amazing race, at one of the best tracks, and the payout means basically nothing. The point is great racing, not credits. It should be worth more, but I couldn't care less!
Some of you may have seen my earlier post where I did this before in the Mustang GR3 and my frikkin house's power went out on the last lap... ugh. Would have won, running 2:04-5s on RHs in FM3, but everything went black on the last lap with 40sec left on the timer and first place right in front of me! The Mustang wasn't super fast, and was pretty squirrelly on exits, which made for a tense race that only got worse as the tires wore. All in all I like the car, but it's outclassed by many other GR3s.
Last night I used the '20 AMG and it was a whole different beast. Fast, planted, chuckable, confident, and fun. Started on SM and went to hards after 30mins. Ran 2:01-2:03s on FM4 lapping up to 8th place, and winning by 16+sec. Other than some close passes, some little bumps when the AI acted unpredictably, and a single off at the top of the hill it was an uneventful yet super fun run. A CRB is doable, but it's tough to keep everything together for an hour!
I recorded this one just because it was so fun, and I want to rewatch some of the hairy passes I made on the AI. If you're bored it may be a fun watch for someone else too, haha.

European Sunday Cup 500 - Decided to try out the '71 BMW 3.0 CSL for the first time. Went for an Alpina street tune with CS tires for a whopping 469 pp. Way too short of a race, so some unsportsman-like driving may have occurred on the last turn, but the win was secured. This is a fun little car once it's tuned right...
World Rally Challenge GR.B - Definitely agree with everyone's frustrations on this race, but still manage to enjoy it for what it is. Wish I had more room for passing and technique, instead of just exploiting the 2 weak turns this AI has in this event. Stock Toyota 86 Gr. B Rally Car for the easy win.
The Silvia Sisters - Had to go find a pristine condition S13 Autech Silvia and tune it up to 590 pp on SH tires. Put me on a similar power:turning tune as the AI, and made for a very fun but challenging race. Took a bit of aero and suspension tuning, but once you get the S13 dialed in, it is a very formidable car.
Neo-Classic Competition - After watching too much 80's IMSA GTP racing, I decided this race needed the Fuji Film Pontiac Spice Camel Lights (aka Sauber C9). Was having a blast reeling in the Group C race cars, but the top 2 decided to pit on the final laps, handing me the win. This race really makes you work hard, then spoils the results sometimes.
World Touring Car 800 - Went and purchased the 2010 Aston Martin DBR9 GT1, slapped on a livery form The Heart of Racing (+5 hp), upgraded the standard transmission with a more even gearset, and won by 15 seconds. What an easy car to drive at the limit, and a blast of race. FM2 for 15 laps on RM tires for a one stop race, with a fastest lap of 2:03.362.
World Rally Challenge GR.B - Definitely agree with everyone's frustrations on this race, but still manage to enjoy it for what it is. Was having a blast reeling in the Group C race cars, but the top 2 decided to pit on the final laps, handing me the win. This race really makes you work hard, then spoils the results sometimes.
World Touring Car 800 - Went and purchased the 2010 Aston Martin DBR9 GT1, slapped on a livery form The Heart of Racing (+5 hp), upgraded the standard transmission with a more even gearset, and won by 15 seconds. What an easy car to drive at the limit, and a blast of race. FM2 for 15 laps on RM tires for a one stop race, with a fastest lap of 2:03.362.
Will definitely have to try another GT3 car before this race is gone.

Wasting? Sounds like you don’t like GT7.
I have never grinded in this game. I just have played it because it’s fun. I have all the cars and $50 million credits for whatever updates come.
I’ve done the Panorama 1 hour several times now just for fun because it’ll be gone soon.
If its a job to you that playing has to earn a certain amount of money then its not fun for you.
