Slight credits bump again this week - and the Special Event is slightly better cr/min than last week

Ok, two more Mt. P. runs for the records :

Used the full stock Porsche RSR out of curiosity after having read @Fezzik 's post. The car's a snail ! It's really a super easy to drive vehicle, but it can't compete against the faster rivals in any way. In order to only pit once I had to run it on FM3, I was able to reach 2.05 - 2.06 laps mostly, one major problem though is that you get stuck in traffic more with such a slow car. Reached the podium at least, that's more than I expected while being underway.

To finish this week at Bathurst, I finally hopped into the old Nissan GT-R GT500 - RM tires, high range turbo, restricted to about 750 PP.
Needed many many laps to find my flow, looking for what I can do with the car and trying to get the best out of it. And all the fiddling with the fuel mapping didn't save me from needing two stops. So I think the race gods must have been very merciful to let me win this.

Looking at the next set of challenges I have a question :
What are the differences between the 2019 and the 2023 Super Formula cars ? I'm planning to buy me one and thought I ask for your advice. Thank you in advance !

Bathurst event is agonizing here. AI might be at its worst at this track. Player has to be what, 5 seconds faster than them through the mountain in equal machinery? Tried it twice now and both times I've ended up quitting because an AI slams the brakes on in a section of the track that doesn't need lifting let alone a near dead stop.
Cataclysmically unfun event, maybe one day there will be a GT game with AI worth racing against but this one certainly still isn't it.

I really wasn't able to do this week's events at all, as I was visiting my sister's family for a bit. Plus, I think it would've made a lot more sense to have the 1hr of Bathurst offer 1m credits, just like another set of weekly challenges both featured the 1hr of Spa-Francorchamps - which does offer 1m for first - and offered 1m for all five events. But I think I'll be far more likely to check out this next set.

EDIT: Here were my likely picks:

Sunday Cup Classic - Mini Cooper S '65*

European Clubman Cup 600 - Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo II*

American Clubman Cup 700 - Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C3*

WTC 900 - Mercedes-Benz CLK-LM

Special Event - SF19/Toyota

* = Swapped.

I get it, but you have to plan for it. Once you learn what nonsense they're going to pull you need to either slow up and let them be dumb, or be where they aren't.

I'll send you the vid of my last run there so you can gauge how to deal with them if you'd like (or you can find it here in my earlier post).

The AI suck, but they're predictable.

Yes, you have to plan for what the AI does much like terrible drivers in the daily races. Hopefully SOPHY will be integrated fully into the game one day.

However, this was by far my favorite race since I bought the game on launch day. I have done it about 5 times and will be sad when its gone tonight.

My favorite part of gt7 is to build up road cars to compete with the purpose buy race cars. Did anyone else use a road cars st bathurst last week? I tired a few and the best was actually the jaguar XJ220. That car properly tuned is a beast.

Good week, two of them can be a real challenge. Sunday Cup Classic is pretty easy, but a lot of fun cars you can use, Euro Clubman Cup is also more of the same and pretty easy given there's no 3000 hp Alfa. American Clubman cup is a fun race, not sure if it can rain as I've never had it but the AI is super fast down the straight but not quick everywhere else which can lead to some interesting dynamics. I ended up using the Roadster Shop Rampage which comes with SM so it was a lot better through the corners but topped out around 290 km/h. WTC 900 can be tricky if you pick the wrong car because the tyre wear is quite high, went with the DTM RS5 and won pretty easily running RM/RM, helped by the AI pitting with 2 laps to go, car is so enjoyable to drive and it's fun managing the DRS. Super Formula was at one of my absolute favourite tracks and I also really like driving those cars. Turned out to be a bit more difficult than I thought but most of that was down to the AI spinning me and pushing me off the track. Restarted and was in the lead on lap 12 running RS/RS which gives you enough pace despite the fact you have to pit and they don't. Running 1:21 on clear laps and 1:22-1:23 in traffic gave me about a 5 second lead or so at the end. I'd suggest using the overtake aggresively early on to get through the pack and sitting in their slipstream is also very important as you'll gain over 20 km/h on the long straights.

Cars for this week:
full

Bonus sketchy overtake clip:

SuperFormula race - did it on softs, was about 2 seconds faster most laps (low 21s at my best, about 22s on average). Still finished 9th as no one else pitted (grrr).

Will try now with the mediums! Very fun to drive though

Edit - mediums was the better choice. Fastest lap was 1.3 seconds down on softs but held in the 1.22s for the whole race aside from traffic / mistakes, won by 1.8 seconds in the end.
