Attempted the Med-Soft 1-Stop Strategy for the WTC 900 event and it works. It was another Nail biter on the last lap, but its definately doable (at least in the NSX).

I just detuned the Porsche 919 and ran it on hards.
Sometimes you just need an easy win.
Ran it on setting 3-4 for most of the race before putting it to 2 and 1 for the last couple of laps.

Toyota GR010 on Mediums, FM3, no stops. A bit difficult with the rubber on the last lap, otherwise pretty much just avoided mess with AI cars.

Question from whom is paying too much atention lately: Since when the electric power use on the GR010 needs to be activated by the Nitro button? Haven't used a hybrid in a while in the game and It caught me I wasn't using any battery automatically...

I really need to learn how to be faster with the SF cars. I mean I did won the race on my 1st try but I just feel (and know) I'm at least 2 seconds slower than what it is actually possible to be on these cars.

If you have the means, sure. Unfortunately, all I have for modern GR.1 choices are the understeery FR cars (Nissan GT- R LM NISMO and Genesis Gran Racer VGT) so the NSX I got from a Daily Roulette ticket was the most optimal choice (After I put the Fuji wing on it of course).

It was enjoyable for me so I didn't mind the Challenge in it.

Once you're having fun out there that's all that matters.

@2cam16, @Chris30 and @Pilot625 - Try to raise the back downforce a little and set the LSD for 5 / 13 / 15. With that you can go for TCS 1 and turn off Stability Management and Countersteering Assistance.

The high TCS is clearly holding you, Chris30.

Trust the downforce on the esses and the chicane of death. You can easily go through the curbs just by not applying too much wheel turn.

Finally got it in 2nd try, Woo-hoo!! Thanks @RACECAR for the video but I already got it. I finished almost 20 seconds ahead of the AI. Lol, I blew them to shreds. Watch and find out what happened in this race. One more event to go for the bacon. Money, that is.

Are you on the hard level? What were your lap times?

By the lap times of the AI, i'm positive it's on easy. But if it suits him and he's happy about it, who i am to judge?

To me, finishing 20s ahead with all assists is plain boring.

Well, I'm just glad I beat it Sunday afternoon. I had to choose the right SF car, thanks to Famine telling me Saturday night. And all the other guys that tried to help me out, thank you everyone. Now tonight, I'm gonna finish the last challenge. The WTC 900 one, I know which car I'm choosing for that event. The NSX Concept '16 one. Maybe that one would be better to grind instead of trying to control and haul a heavy Super Formula machine.

Oh I don’t care I just want to know if what I’m experiencing is similar. If he is doing 1.22s or 1.23s and finishing 20 seconds ahead then my hard is different.

Tips for those struggling with the Dragon Trail SF race:

No fuel saving needed. FM1 all the way.

The AI are going to seem faster in the beginning because they're using the overtake function a lot. It will run out, and their pace will slow down.

Most braking areas are close to where the black/white rumble strips begin. Use them as markers and adjust.

There are lots of great places to pass here:

They brake SUPER early into the turn 2/3 chicane. Get them on the inside. Brake where the rumble begins.

They brake super early into turn 12 as well, once again, brake at the rumbles. Careful on throttle exit... wait for full throttle when you're straight.

The "death chicane" is your FRIEND here, and super easy. Full throttle all the way, but make sure you time your exits. It's the best place for passing, but you need to leave room for you to exit MUCH faster than the AI do. If you're impatient and right on the rear of the AI cars, you're gonna have a bad, slow, time. When you time it right you can pass them in bunches.

Take as much inside turn 6 as possible. There is lots of room on the inside. 2nd gear in, third out with manual.

Full throttle all the way through corners 8/9/10, and keep it clean. AI are strangely slow here.

For my manual transmission peeps, 2nd gear engine braking and immediately up to 3rd to power out of tighter corners. Still, careful on throttle until you're straight, especially TC0 (the only way!).

I did this run on hard difficulty, RH tires, FM1 and didn't use overtake at all... beat second place by over 13sec but could still do much better here.

Video of the run for reference:

Good luck out there, and don't be afraid of this race. It's a lot of fun!

@Pilot625 he's running 29-30s.

This one was easy with the Audi RS5 with RMs, did a pit stop at lap 7 to get some fuel, but in MT I could have save fuel and not pit. (Normal difficulty)
Did it yesterday with the Audi, but for good measure also chucked on a Med RPM Turbocharger.

Didn't realise when I started that I had softs on so pitted after lap 4 to put mediums on.

That was a great idea posting the diagram of the track so people can see where and how to plan their braking and turning. We have three days left to finish all the events, so good luck to all of you participating.

You might have experienced yourself by now that this gap to the second place driver can vary quite a bit. Depending of course on how consistently you can run fast laps and get through the traffic on one hand, on how the AI itself behaves and how they get ahead on the other though, too. I had a run with a finishing time of around 20.49 with a gap of 19 seconds. P2 and P3 basically took themselves out in the CoD.

For the American Clubman Cup 700, I actually ended up using a Chevrolet Corvette (C7) ZR1, and while I bought/installed some Sport Softs, it was otherwise entirely stock. I wasn't expecting it to be as controllable as it actually was! Definitely fun to drive, too - felt like on that last turn on High Speed Ring reverse, it hit 200 mph really smoothly. I also used my swapped Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo II for the European Clubman Cup 600. I might do the last two events, too, but we'll see what sort of time I have tomorrow and Thursday.
