Done for the week!

Randomizer said I had to use the Delta, but my only Delta is a 700pp NISMO swap. Oops, race was over at turn 3 so might as well have some fun, right?

The stock Dandelion Yellow EVO VIII makes a comeback for this event. Fun stuff even though I've had a Max Verstappen moment at the hairpin on the last lap. Somehow still got CRB, go figure.

Still hadn't won RBR in the Hypercars for some reason, so the trusty 918 Spyder in the Weissach Package made sure to have that fixed. A bit of a Spa 2000 moment for that XJ220 there. Another CRB.

And finally for The World Group C. Joined in with the R92CP on RM with the Death Star Turbo, was leading about halfway through the race but had two massive spins always at the same spot, my usual attention problems. The 962C in the Advan livery made sure to capitalize on those but still managed to pass it right at the end for a nice W. The top prize 6* ticket gave me a million so I'm happy.

Also, completely unrelated, I realized only today that it is still possible to import old GT Sport liveries even though PD and Sony said no back then, so I managed to save my old Hyundai Coupe F2 kit car livery and so I'm super happy.

I did the last 3 races. I started out with my main 962 but since the physics update it drives terrible. So I used another 962 which handled much better but I didn't like the pace. So since there no fuel usage I went with the Hyundai VGT since it has no use in other races. Won very easily even with crap racing.
Next I used the Valkyrie at the HyperCar race then I finished the night with the Aston Martin VGT at Tokyo. The 1st time I did race long time ago I got 2nd I was able to get 1st this time. I will post pics when I finish the last 2 races

Had a busy busy weekend with almost no time for racing but I'm through now. And here we go :

Race 1 - Renault R4 GTL '85 ( 388 PP )
Since "The Fast & The Furious" I know that NOS can be Papa's little helper against faster cars. And I used it shamelessly against C. Lopez at the Sardegna road track B.

WC_250117_R1.jpg

Race 2 - Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R '70 ( engine-swapped / 579 PP )
What NOS is for the old Renault a swapped engine is for the old Nissan. She's not an easy-to-handle car so I wasn't sure about using it at a twisty track like Autopolis ... but everything went fine.

WC_250117_R2.jpg

Race 3 - De Tomaso Mangusta '69 ( 704 PP )
The Mangusta is famous for its light nose and for being extremely loud. Both is perfectly modeled by PD. Had a hard time keeping the Valkyrie in check but hey, Spielberg is where the fun is !

WC_250117_R3.jpg

Race 4 - Lamborghini Gallardo '08 ( 599 PP )
In a first attempt I tried to compete with my beloved Ferrari Dino around Tokyo but she didn't quite cut it. The Gallardo did, despite some weird understeer behavior I don't have an explanation for yet.

WC_250117_R4.jpg

Race 5 - Nissan R92CP '92 ( 905 PP )
Went all in right from the start, full throttle through Eau Rouge and 225 mph up Kemmel Straight. The big turbo on RS tires made mincemeat of the Spa competition.

My goal for next week is receiving the CRB against that moron Beauvois in his Valkyrie ... :yuck:

As always I start from the hard and work my way down to the easy ones...

Gr.C at Spa.
I dislike seeing these fakes in these races. I prefer having the real liveries on my cars.
Here I'm passing a poser for the lead.

WTC600 at Tokyo.
the Volvo 240 Drift Brick is more stable than the Mazda at lower speeds
Taking the advice above, I built a Beast Box and with some additional refinements in tuning i had a stable winner.

Hypercar Parade at RBR.
This Porsche VGT is a hypercar killer...

Tuner Japanese at Autopolis.
The stock Dandelion Yellow EVO VIII makes a comeback for this event.
Well the Dandelion Yellow EVO showed up in my race also but... was passed up easily with my Amuse S2000.

European Sunday at Sardegna.
There was no competition for the GTO.

Hope you enjoy the pics.

P.s. not a CRB at all 🙃

World Touring Car 600: Lexus LC500. Apart from putting on Racing Hards, literally beat this on the highest difficulty with the car completely stock. Its kinda easy with how the AI brakes even in the Tunnels, meanwhile I'm carefully letting off and getting back on to power right by them.
I can vouch for this set-up. Tried it out and took the win. It would have been a bigger gap that the 2.5 seconds if not for this gaggle of about 7 cars that took me from 11th to 4th in a matter of three turns. Seen here behind me after I had gone through them. Thanks @ RACECAR !

Bit surprised about the difficulty 'hype' around the WTC 600 race. Were people thinking it was the other grinding event one? Fairly easy win in most cars when the AI are constantly braking through the tunnel section.

Fun one in VR though. Only made me more excited for the new Tokyo Xtreme Racer.

The difficulty hype would be my fault.

The AI is doing some kind of adjusting and probably trolling me for pushing way too hard. It reminds me what the AI does on Professional Difficulty half way through a custom race - they start setting world record laps to catch you being inconsistent.

I benchmark a lot of 600pp builds and hunt for fastest lap times / overall times. Before the recent updates, I noticed my usual margin of victory slipping to the point where I was honestly struggling in cars that could do laps in 2:06, sometimes not getting 1st place.

Before the update, the fastest I saw the AI (Haywood Hurican, of all things...) run was 2:05. After the recent updates, 2:03.

I tried the race again late last night in a stock 512BB at 589PP on Sports Softs as @Arkseven presented and got 1st place a bunch of times. Fastest lap was around 2:08, but average laps were in the mid 2:09s. I cut my overall time down by about 6 seconds, but the margin of victory from the AI never was more than 2 seconds.

My total time was in the 10:50s for the event. When I come in with a 600PP optimized build I aim to run around 10:35 or better for me to consider a build successful, normally giving me a 14-20 second 1st place finish. Recently, the AI started closing the gap, running 10:31s or 10:29s total time. That possibility made A LOT of my builds technically unable to win.

I don't know what's up that changes the AI behavior. Maybe they look at the build and see Racing Tires. Maybe they check the first three lap times and start adjusting their pace. Maybe @RACECAR is right about there being a bug with AI cars that tells them early on, they don't have to wait for the player to catch up.

Yeah 600pp is very messy to be fair. I feel like the leading AI time can vary by like 15-20 seconds depending on who starts where because of how incapable they are of passing slower cars. Very unpredictable, let alone whilst including the other fluff they pad the AI with.

So I once again decided to do this with PSVR2 and hard AI and the vehicle roster I went with was mostly interesting

Race 1 - nearly fully modified fiat 500F '68 (CS tyres) - I was originally going to use a modern 500f but then decided 'lets have a bit of fun' and decided to nearly fully tune up a 400pp classic fiat (with no engineswap) and I barely made it even when tuned this far up

Race 2 - Sony Afeela prototype (SM tyres) - I know one of the other JP clubman events ran with this vehicle as the lead car...so I thought I'd try it myself. It ain't bad now! Yeah okay it's a boat but it wasn't as wallowy as I expected, easy win though lol

Race 3 - Genesis X gran berlinetta VGT Concept (SS tyres) - no this isn't me saying 'screw this event' I actually had a reason for using it..it's pp wasn't as high as the Valkyrie AND the car is being run at the real Bathurst later this month which I'm excited to see if they actually make it close to the in-game pecs or not, but this race was far from easy with how instant it's power delivery is from the e-supercharger, has to keep it in high gears to get stable acceleration.

Race 4 - my non-enginwswapped Alfa 4C Gr3 road car (SM tyres) - this one felt great to succeed with..I was actually trying a few other vehicles prior to this and failed every time...then switched to this one out of random desperation, turned out to be a perfect choice!

Race 5 - Chaparral 2x VGT (RS tyres) - I only have one thing to say;

SCREW SPA (except eau rouge-radillon)

Anyone looking for a small challenge, try to win these races on hard difficulty and without tuning:

Japanese CC550: Mazda RX7 90'
Hypercar Parade: Audi R8 16'
WTC600: Ferrari 512BB

I got 2nd, 3rd and 1st place respectively. The RBR race with the R8 was the most fun I had.
No... tuning?!

Done. 👍 1st place for all. This was a good lesson is managing weight transfer.

WTC600
This went as mentioned above. The 512BB got very floaty in high speed corners, but it was fun getting the nose pointed correctly and building up the revs on corner exit. I was pleasantly surprised at how short the 512BB's braking distances were. Fairly calm race despite the close finish.

I really wanted to fit Racing Hard tires, but I'd have needed to add a few kilos of ballast to hit 600PP. Oh well, the suspension wouldn't have liked that anyway

The 512BB was cornering like this all day long. No complaints 👍

Hypercar Parade
Normally, I have a long-standing blood vendetta with the Aston Martin Vulkan (and now the Valkyrie too) that demands I use all my maximum tuned road cars to pulverize the two Astons... But the stock Audi was a nice change of pace.

The first win was on Sports Soft tires. I had to block the Valkyrie (who remembers he has 1000hp after lap 3). I did another run on Racing Mediums and won more definitively. Though, the Valkyrie was taking big bites out of my lead from lap 5 onward.

I want to get a 1:23 lap time because of spite

Japanese CC550
The RX-7 FC was still below 550PP on Racing Softs

The FC really did not like going over curbs... I was no match for the NSX on the straightaways, but when I stopped wobbling and sliding, the NSX was no match for me in the corners. Victory for the momentum car!

The way I was driving, I'm sure that I would have snapped most of my suspension components in real life
