Got to stay in the slip for this one

Another week of challenges, I enjoyed it a lot more than last week. Actually challenged myself a bit this time.

The Barker Mercedes is so much fun. I finally got it last week and been finding excuses to drive it.

Fuji International Speedway_.jpeg

Thought I would drive a Toyota at Fuji. I'm a fan of the Crown. Lowered and a little tune just makes a fun drive.

I souped up this Mini a while ago and never really drove it much. It handles terribly. Maybe needs a better tune. Still won with it, though.

I love love love older Porsches. I have a couple 993s alone just for the sake of having them. They handle like a dream. Especially at Spa.

The special event this week was quite a challenge, I had to give it three tries to win. That said, I love it. I only got the lead near the end, made for an intense race. Might up the difficulty for another go.

That F3500-A race is tough. At first, I tried it on hard difficulty. RS tires. The other cars just took off on me. By lap 5, it was obvious I wasn't going to catch anybody.

So I quit and tried again on normal difficulty, RS tires. At least I could keep up. I managed to work my way up to P6 mid-way through the race, but got pit-maneuvered on the long straight by the AI and couldn't recover. Finished 10 seconds back in P9.

That's does it! I'm dropping to easy.

Easy win. Even on RM tires. Took the lead on lap 3 and never looked back.

I still had time to do the other races, so I ran through them again. They pretty much went like my practice runs last night, except I won at Brands Hatch because I forgot to set the difficulty back up to hard. I also tuned up the Porsche for a win at Spa. Fun week. All tickets obtained. Real ones, even.

1. European Sunday Cup 400 - Used the Abarth 500 here, a decent handling vehicle, and able to keep up with some of the more high end hot hatches. 1st.
2. Japanese Clubman Cup 550 - Decided to try a car I don't usually use, the Evo Final GR.B Road, it's alright, but a bit understeery at times. 1st
3. WTC 600 - Decided to try the new Ioniq 5 N, but was disappointed to see that the virtual gearbox didn't make it over... Again. But, at least it has the engine noise, unlike FH5. 1st
4. Porsche Cup - I first tried with the Cayman GT4 Clubsport, but rain+slick racing tyres = crash, so I used the 991 GT3 RS '16, which worked well, until the rain came and grip became limited, but I still won. 1st.
5. Special Event - Geez. This was tough. At first, I believed it to be similar to one of those group C or JTCC events, but no, they did do a one-make limit, and I believe this to be the first fuel consuming special event, and what a event to start with, huh? I stuck the car into fuel map mode 2, which made fuel a non-issue. This car is grippy and fast, at times, too fast. I did spin on lap 6, due to my overconfidence and remembered why I don't typically race these sorts of cars, but I managed to still get first, somehow.

A pretty fun week, overall.

The F1 event is so good. Really took me to the limit of my GT skills to win this race honestly, but I did it.
Polyphony why not implementing a championship event with races like this into the game, with a qualifying, settings of the car… the features are all there but without a real event including all of it :(

Did the same, nice 1:34.9XX ! Used FM6 and lowered it a bit very quickly as soon as I had a clear estimate of the fuel consumption. No stop for me.

Do you remember your best lap time ?
Alas no. I did a one stop, lap 6 on FM1 with a short stint (2 laps ?) on FM2. I did not change tires.

For the 950pp tune I left it on RM, did not do anything with suspension or diff or downforce and only changed output adjustment to 93, ballast 19, -50 to the front and power restrictor to 90. I ran TCS2 with this but could probably run TCS1. This was very drivable and I am sure if I played with suspension and diff it would be even faster/easier.

One race left to go , the Porsche cup at SPA .
The F1 done first after selecting easy difficulty and not shame at all about it.
Won't bust my nuts for this one , I'll leave the glory to the others, after all laps at 56 ( best 55 high )won't lead anywhere to have a podium finish.
I'll just put later @AlexWilmot tune just to see the difference and have it just in case at the future.

Not bad at all a nice Friday million .
Next Friday, new fruits and perhaps tickets so we don't be spoil kids with clean credits.

I did all five this morning in two run throughs on easy. I am really enjoying the races this week. The first time through was driving some cars that I had been neglecting and some of the new update cars. The Ioniq drives like a 60s muscle car with drum brakes, but it does like to slide surprisingly well. My second walkthrough was only using cars that weighed under a metric ton, in order to incorporate the F3500-A. The classic race cars featured heavily at the specified PP levels. I will probably go back and tune some cars newer than 1980 to do another run through.

-Euro Sunday Cup: 356 Speedster, stock
-Japanese Clubman Cup: Fairlady Z432, 546pp
-WTC600: Alpine A220, stock, CS tires
-Porsche Cup: 904 Carrera GTS, highly tuned, 645pp
-Special Event: F3500-A, trimmed most of the downforce out of the wings, but stock otherwise.

I was able to win the F1 race on easy by fitting a racing exhaust and setting downforce to minimum. Fastest lap was 55.500

European Sunday Cup 400: Ferrari 500 Mondial. Essentially "Hey, I forgot I had this. Wonder what its like". Feels nice to me. Also, easy win.
Japanese Clubman Cup 550: Toyota GR Supra RZ. Car I hadn't driven on GT7 so decided to give it a go, that and its not everyday you see a random Robotech livery (Reference picture for said livery). Another winner.
World Touring Car 600: Lexus LF A. Not only yet another car I hadn't driven, but an attempt to repeat the WTC 600 Tokyo tire Trick I did with the LC500. Sadly, the game was not having it  Still won though on Sports hards so eh.
Porsche Cup: Porsche 911 GTS RS. You know the drill: Domination. Appropreate too since I have a League race this weekend at Spa.
F3500 One-Make: A wild one. Hell of as way to learn this car on the fly if you haven't already given it a spin. Had to go down a difficulty because it just felt like I wasn't gaining much at all.

Video to follow.

Has anyone tried, or even better managed, to win the formula race with a CRB on at least normal difficulty? Because I tried, and "only" 480 km later did it. The problem wasn't being fast enough but getting through the field when every corner is a Schumacher-Villeneuve Jerez '97 situation between at least some cars and the most murderous ones put you in the armco at 350 km/h without asking twice at the first sweeper exit.
