Seems like this is one of the weekly challenges where one event is impossible for me. Last time I failed at a weekly was a Gr.1 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta because I used a formula car but when the lights went off with a few laps left I could not see a thing so ended up last.
While the Formula race on high speed ring [a few weeks ago] went fine after 3-5 attempts, in this Monza race I ended up last or second last 2 times, 40-50 seconds behind the first place. Even used all assists and RH without pitting. Tried creative alternatives as racing straight ahead at the first u turn and getting 5 seconds penalty didn't help. Tried follow all the rules & ended up 40 seconds behind the 1st place. Despite the fact that I can't drive a formula/GR.1 car fast in GT7 we shouldn't be forced to start behind, especially not 10 seconds.

Use easy level isn't a shame .
Otherwise you won't get the 6* ticket.
Am on the same boat with you with very fast moving cars and feel no shame to put it on easy in order to make it painless.

Time Trial Trauma: Part 🫠

Spirited Away_NOPE.gif

Thank god it's Friday. Time for some new races. My friend is letting me use his ps5 on his account, but he doesn't have a YouTube account so I don't have proof to show that I finished the races. I'm interested to see how high the difficulty is for that F3500 race at Monza this week, expert tuning will have to be implemented and used. It might be a chore but I'll make it through. Wish us luck, we're gonna try it in a little bit. There could be a lot of carnage against us and the A.I. depending on how aggressive they are on the track.

What was an event that was in the new fake F1 car at Monza? We just had this race.

I tried at the Special Event, but it is sooo hard, that I always get a 5th position at the end, at around 1 minute away from 1st position.
Are you on a controller? I can see this being really tough on a controller.

Just did it (on a wheel) without too much trouble and even had two mistakes.

I did a no stop though - maybe that's the trick.

About the picture: This week, I decided to experiment a bit and use one of the Tomica images (This totally didn't come as a result of using two locations, one I put too far away and the other had reflections and shadows that I couldn't edit seamlessly), I quite liked the results.

Anyway, getting back on topic, I chose not to do the F3500 event, A. Because I don't have enough time, and B. Because doing a F3500 race at monza is my idea of hell. It was hard enough at high speed ring.

1. I chose to begin the events with the GT86, this one seemed to be stock side from the wing. It was a pretty fun event, but the GT86 does understeer sometimes.
2. A similar result with the camaro, it likes to understeer, but also kick it's rear end out when in the corners.
3. I don't like rally in this game, or really, any Gran Turismo title. The physics just don't feel right. What made this even more difficult was the fact my controller chose to randomly stop responding to input halfway through, requiring me to turn the console off and on again.
4. For the final event, I chose to try the RUF RGT 4.2. It's very quick, but seems to understeer a bit.

Good set of races this week. That includes the snow race. Yes, I don't mind the off road races, even enjoy them, believe it or not.
I decided to challenge myself by using only stock, unmodified cars. Not even new tires.

High Speed Ring Reverse_.jpeg

Bought a stock Sileighty last week just because I thought it would be fun to drive without being modified to hell and back. Funny to see that there was also an AI opponent with a yellow Sileighty. It's a great handling car. Easy peasy.

Watkins Glen Short Course_.jpeg

Received a Viper GTS as a random prize car a while ago, and just never went around to selling it. And you know what, it's not a bad car, but it can be a bit of a spirited drive. A lot faster than one might expect yet the brakes just suck. Eh, made the race more interesting at least.

Lake Louise Long Track_.jpeg

I also love the WRXs in the game, and why not drive one here. I enjoyed just overtaking via drifting on the outside and even though my times were not the fastest, so what, I liked it.

Circuit de Sainte-Croix - B__1.jpeg

I did not own a stock German car under 700pp. The RUF RGT was car I did not yet own, so I bought it and immediately raced it. I already love Porsches in the game and own too many. Naturally I loved it, and even at only 650pp it handled the race pretty well. Took until lap 3 to get to 1st, but hey made it more fun.

Autodromo Nazionale Monza_.jpeg

Autodromo Nazionale Monza__1.jpeg

Now, this was difficult. Took me 3 attempts. This was where I thought to myself, screw it and get some RS tires. And darn, by the last lap and last three corners my rear tires was bald. The gap was shrinking until I managed to win with a 0.2s gap. It was quite stressful.

My ticket roulette prize was sadly pretty disappointing. I got the Mercedes VGT car, which ok, I haven't yet owned and yeah, I'm sure drives great, but it's not very interesting. Can't win them all.

Done and dusted. Hard difficulty.

weekly-challenge-202502w4-r1.jpg

High Speed Ring - Mazda Roadster S (ND) '15 - Added the sports computer, air filter, exhaust, and stage 1 weight reduction, which brought the PP just a hair over the recommended 450. It was still a challenge. Some of those other cars have a much higher top speed, so I needed to build up a big lead going into the final straight. A win for the first ticket.

weekly-challenge-202502w4-r2.jpg

Watkins Glen - Dodge Challenger R/T '70 - Upgraded the tires to SS, which brought the PP up a fair bit. This car really needs a fifth gear. It felt like I spent most of the race red lined in fourth. Managed to pass the lead car on the final run through the bus stop. Fun race for the second check box.

weekly-challenge-202502w4-r3.jpg

Lake Louise - Honda NSX Gr.B Rally Car - This ended up being much easier than I was expecting. Took the lead at the start of the third lap and finished with a comfortable lead. Second ticket obtained.

weekly-challenge-202502w4-r4.jpg

Sainte-Croix - Audi R8 Coupe V10 plus '16 - I upgraded the tires to SS, but otherwise left the car unmodified. This car needs a lot of room for braking, but once I figured out the braking points, it was another easy win. Fourth box checked.

weekly-challenge-202502w4-r5.jpg

Monza - F3500-A - This took a couple attempts. In the first, I attempted a no-stop on RMs only to find on lap 8 that I only had one lap of fuel left. A pit for fuel landed me in last place. The second attempt, I saved fuel by bumping the fuel map to 2 and short-shifting at 80% of the rev bar. I got by all the RM runners on lap 4. The RS cars all pitted on lap 7, handing me the lead. Final ticket obtained. Got 1,000,000Cr.

I enjoyed the races this week. The Special Event took my two tries (on Hard difficulty).

Got the win with a no-stop strategy, FM3 on Medium tyres. Managed to put it laps in the low 1.29s to get the win.

I think I'd like to try going flat out with FM1 on Softs and box, but I think the refuel speed is woeful, given how slow the leaders refilled their tanks.

I didn't think they'd be able to make a formula event that sucks more than the HSR but boy was I wrong. It highlights everything that is wrong with the AI's open wheel racing, in a real race there would be perhaps two cars moving after the first lap with everyone else in the sandtraps with wheels missing. Not sure if I want to go back and try a clean win, I don't even know where I lost it now as the replay shows no contacts. Probably some really strick track limits somewhere.

Case in point. The turquoise car might have survived, the rest definitely not.

Have to admit that reading for the new challenges with F1 car at Monza ( which i fail to get even silver at TT ) made me a bit worry if i could make it.
giphy (9).gif

So without hesitation i put easy level and try it t.
Had one restart at 4th lap due to a spin and another one at first lap this time i just win it to the wire but at least i could end up third anyway .
Use RM tyres FM 3 most of the time and non stop.
Didn't even did faster lap in the race 😱 and i don't care at all 😂
Proceed at snow and then switch back to normal to collect and the rest of them.

Only interesting for me is La Croix B since i can test the Porsche 01 that is one of the car choices we have for our Titans Sunday race .

6* ticket brought a 500k which way preferable than any crappy VGT ( usually ) .

Am done and hope F1 cars for next year 😬.

I have just tried the F1 Monza a couple of times both on easy after reading issues people are having.

First try on RS and fuel 1 and I got up to 3rd but then I pitted at the end of lap 5, expecting the AI to pit but only two of them did so I ended up 10th.
Second try I went with RM and fuel 3 I didn't need to pit but ended up 5th.

It is that dam first chicane, well the exit, I either have the car bog-down or try to spin out!

I think with a few more tries I should be able to get 3rd.

I do think this event/race is a bit too hard, the car is tricky and Monza is a poor track imo.

Thx but the severe & strong problem is that I have always used easy level setting since I started playing GT7 a year ago. It's also fun [pun intended] when someone on GTPLANET can't get gold in an online TT or even worse, can't get 1st place in a weekly challenge since 99% of all gamers on gtplanet acheive gold on all time trials after 3-5 attempts..!

I passed the event with the following setup (that normally I don't use at all, meaning much less control activated):

Difficult = Easy
TC = 5
ASM = On
Counter-steering assistance = Strong
Tyre = HARD
Fuel = 6 after 1 lap 5 and after one lap 4 and set 3 and only last lap 4 again

Strategy = no pit and hoping the others will do it.

2nd position and with some less mistake here and there could do 1st without big issues.

I think that I could start with fuel at 4 and kept till the end.

...there seems to be one race i will always have trouble with, this week is the SNOW race...
I think I won with 20 seconds, I often use "overpowered" cars, but even that the Audi S1 pikes peak starts first in this race, it's still very easy to win by a good margin, you can do wall-riding or just use 50-50 distribution front-rear & full downforce it's easy.

I could be tempted to turn difficulty level to hard for this race since I can't grasp that players on this forum have problems with easiest weekly challenge, as opposed to the hyper-difficult Monza race.

After an annoying rerender due to an Error, here it is:

Japanese FR Challenge 450: Lexus LC500. Hadn't driven it in abit so just did it. Easy win and just like going bonkers into Turn 1.

American FR Challenge 550: Ford Shelby GT350R. First time post-update driving it and its not the leary beast it was at times. Easy win as per usual.

World Rally Cross GR.B: Ford Focus GR.B. Hadn't driven it in a while so thought I'd paint it up and give it a go. Alwas fun to throw around at Lake Louise for a nice win.

Schwarzwald League: Mercedes-AMG GTR. A GT4 Build that is still WIP but nearly complete. Another easy win.

F3500 One-Make: F3500A. Another challenging time that forced me to easy (more so due to time constraints then anything).

Why?

Leave the RM's on and drive with fuel map 3. The fast leaders will pit around lap 6 or 7
I know. I was being dramatic because I despise the F3500-A. The AI rubber-banding in its previous one-make at High Speed Ring really, REALLY bothered me. I was expecting the worst.

This race was more manageable.

The Monza race is over in under 15 mins for me which means 1:29 laps without pitting. I think FM2 can do that and RM as a non-stop - but I certainly can’t… not enough talent

SPECIAL EVENT – The Cup of Less Suffering – F3500-A One-Make at Monza

Not as bad as I had anticipated. If the AI were cheating, it was not giving them a big enough advantage to make me want to eat my controller. I found fuel management more difficult and finicky than tires, oddly.

Note: I came into this race with worn oil because I forgot to change it after the time trial. I was down about 20hp. Oops...

Multiple 1st place finishes on hard difficulty.

PIT STRATEGY
  • No-Stop
  • Fuel Map 2 with short shifting (upshift at 50% of revs) until lap 3
  • Fuel Map 1 with short shifting (upshift at 50% of revs) until lap 7
  • Maximum attack from lap 7 to the end

My fastest run - my best lap was around 1:27.4

OBSERVATIONS
  • The AI brake VERY early before all the chicanes
  • Don’t worry about the leaders who run Racing Softs and pit on lap 8…
  • Worry about everyone else from 5th place down who are on a no-stop strategy with you
  • You can definitely carry more speed than the AI through most of the corners
  • The penalties are super strict only at the first chicane--
  • Because of relaxed penalties, you can be aggressive with your entry into Ascari and be rewarded, if you survive the sausage curbs

IS A 1-STOP VIABLE?
Not sure. Perhaps if you run Racing Softs, save fuel and only change tires. But then you would have to be very good at dodging the backmarkers (for the whole race...), who are all bunched up and have very slow entries into the best places for passing. My default position on this is "I don't wanna"

RACE 4 – SCHWARZWALD LEAGUE at Sainte Croix – B

As @smoothbore12 would point out, this version of Saint Croissant is truly a treat!

I brought out from the back corners of my garage another one of my heroes: the AMG 300 SEL “Red (yellow) Pig.” Not much for power upgrades (please give me a supercharger...) and the car weighs as much as a small house, and it makes no downforce, but I did not care.

R4 - Yellow Pig - Action - 1.jpg

The race was just me, the Red (yellow) Pig, Racing Softs, the hunt for faster lap times, and driving bliss!

Oh, watch out for the AMG GT Black Series. I didn't face him, but that car will ruin your day and steal your croissant.

STRATEGY
  • Note the AI front runners start with a 30 second lead
  • Don't worry, they are on Sports Hard tires and are very slow in the corners
  • Use grippy 700pp Le Mans Grind builds that are geared for ~180mph - 280kph
  • Grab a hot chocolate, coffee or mocha and enjoy :D

RACE 3 – WORLD RALLY CHALLENGE GROUP B at Lake Louise Long

I was hoping to rally my swapped Renault Gordini, but alas… Mitsubishi Final Group B with a Death Star Turbo.

I did not need that gigantic turbo, and the turbo lag may have slowed me down. I was all over the place, crashing, getting my lines wrong, but still I got 1st place by 30 seconds :odd:

R3 - Evo Final GrB - Action.jpg

RACE 2 – AMERICAN FR CHALLENGE 550PP at Watkins Glen

I ask this every update and have been routinely disappointed:
Has the Plymouth Superbird’s sudden high speed rear grip loss been fixed?

Answer: Maybe!!!

My widebody 550pp Superbird can now go around high speed corners at 100% throttle without its usual mildly annoying DEATH.

Despite having zero downforce at either end, the car still handles as if it has 10% extra downforce at the front. It’s floaty and kinda sketchy, but I can absolutely work with this now. Yay!
Yay Delorean.gif

Oh, yes, there was race too

RACE 1 – JAPANESE FR CHALLENGE 450 at High Speed Ring Reverse

I picked a Nissan Z Z33 because why not. I had no idea when I had put Sports Medium tires on it. Predictable victory. Though, I had fun trying to figure out the Z33’s limits on its mushy suspension and came away slightly confused.

It was either this or the Pagani swapped V12 Supra. I should picked the V12 Supra.
