Another shot at the Monza race, this time I got the CRB too. But I don't know what they've fed Serrano before the start as that's pretty extreme for a Normal difficulty level, my times are nothing to write home about as I was taking it extremely safe through all the chicanes for the entire race (and being stuck in the three abreast formations) to not blow the bonus and the rubberbanding was still hard enough to warrant a 1'26 lap.

My cars for the weeklys.
Won each one on first try on hard. Monza was stressfull though lol.

-Japanese FR - High Speed Ring: Nissan 180SX Type X, Sport hard. Took it with 0.5s because AI was way faster on the main straight and were in my slipstream. CRB✔️
-American FR - Watkins Glen: Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 C4, Sport hard. CRB ✔️
-Group B - Lake Louise: Toyota Celica GT-FOUR Rally Car (ST205), Mid-range turbo, adjusted supension & gearing. Bit overkill beating the Audi with 25+sec 😅 CRB ❌
-Schwarzwald - St Croix B: Widebody, swapped, Porsche 911 Turbo (930) sitting on 699,98PP 😅 Twitchy, unstable, but fast. Love this car (and the livery)!

-Special event - Monza: Mansell's Williams FW14B '92 livery. Racing medium, FM3 shifting around 75% of the rev bar for he first 6 laps. Then FM2, shifting again at around 75%. No stop. Took the lead after the leading AI came in for their stop end of lap 7. Had around 1,5s lead in the beginning of the lap. at Ascari they were right up my.... 2 more laps of holding them up in the corners trusting my exits, make them try overtakes on the outside of corners and won with less then 1s. Stressful, fun, will not be coming back. 😅 CRB❌

Attempted the F3500-A race on Hard (RM, fuel map 3), but after a handful of attempts - mostly 1st lap restarts after finding the gravel on the outside of Prima Variante (turn 2) - i could do no better than a distant 6th with no chance of catching the leading pack after dropping out of their slip stream, so didn't even bother finishing the race. Was getting late so i skipped Normal and went straight to Easy. AI cars were still every bit as quick on the straights but they slowed far to early into the braking zones, destroying my CRB in the process  Was quite content in finishing 3rd to get the prize, but started to reel the distant 1st and 2nd in on lap 6. Got into their tow exiting the parabolica on lap 8 but they darted into the pits. Ended up winning by a sizeable margin. On reflection i think a win on Normal setting would have been fairly straight forward knowing they pit towards the end of the race.

For the F3500-A I ran a VERY tall 6th gear, not redlining on the straights, and just watched the intervals to the leader climb. I ran fuel mix 3 until the cars in front pitted, and won the race by a slim margin by not needing to pit, just a few seconds. My times are not what anyone else here has posted, 1:32s and 33s.

My first effort (actually my first didn't-give-up-and-reset,) needing to refuel, I pitted from 4th and came out in 12th, after taking FOREVER to fuel up, finished 10th. They may have copied the early 90s car, but they did not copy the early 90s F1 refueling!!!

For the F-3500 race, you absolutely need to get in the slipstream of the cars ahead of you. If you can't to that you will never catch up. No amount of fast driving through the turns will make up for the losses you take on the straights. I will admit that I didn't not race that cleanly going into the chicanes. It's almost impossible to when there are 6 cars jamming themselves into that first one. But if you can get into the slipstream you can pass cleanly on the straights and on the brakes into the other turns.

I suspect those of you using RS [or RM] with the highest levels in the suspension settings are using a wheel or you belong to the fastest top 3%. I haven't quite tested how much less tire wear there is from lowering suspension settings to minimum but perhaps some of you have estimated a percent which translates to x amount of laps before the car is uncontrollable even with a wheel & a top 3% driver?

I am obviously only talking about the F3500 race [or similar with the F1500 or the SF cars or even the Gran Turismo RB cars], in almost all other races very different driving mechanics apply, both because the cars are much heavier & much less downforce & much less power..!

I reduce the camber settings on all my cars that have customizable suspensions. Usually to 2.0. This helps a lot with tire wear, braking and acceleration performance at the cost of a bit less speed in the corners. But if it means I can go without pitting, or be able to get an extra lap or 2 without needing to pit for a second time, it's worth the small sacrifice in corner speed.

Edit: I am not a top 3% driver. I am lucky if I get silver medals in the weekly time trials.

The rally challenge is just utter rubbish isn't it. The Ai scoots out of corners like they are on rails and god help you if you're anywhere near them mid corner as thy nerf you off the road and you INEVITABLY get turned backwards. Hated every damnded second of it.

I am pretty handy in the F1 car, went RS full fuel for 6 laps then went to FM4 and did a bit of Lift n Coast, finished p1 by a few seconds.
