First drive in the Uni Mog. Omg, I love it! It feels like I’m driving my Winnebago around a racetrack but much faster. Lol.

But how much did I spend to make this thing go quick? 🫨

Edit. Then had a go at GV. Took a totally insane Cobra out for a spin. In more ways than one!

GT7 Weeking Races | Just your typical Cobra driver!

It took several attempts before I got this monster under control and tamed it.

Taking the inside line on the way to the win.

Difficulty: Hard

Sunday Cup Classic - Hyundai Ioniq 5 N
Little bit overkill, but was the first eligible car i had on hand. 1st, CRB.

American Sunday Cup 600 - Chevrolet Corvette C7 Gr.3 Road Car
Also a little overkill, as this car was on RH. 1st, no CRB.

Race of Turbo Sports Cars - Nissan GT-R Safety Car
Despite being downtuned to ~ 415 HP, the R35 pace car was more than fast enough to catch the leader by lap 3. 1st, no CRB

Special Event (205 one make) - Peugeot 205 GTI
Stock Pug with SH tyres trivialized this race for me. 1st, no CRB.

World Rally Challenge - WRC Impreza
The Impreza had the Medium turbo on, and anti-lag turned off.
Fuel map 6, started on RH. Pit on lap 7, refilled to 6 laps, swapped to RM. Fuel map 1 to finish and lapped the Peugeot Gr.B in the process. 1st, no CRB.

RACE 5 – RALLY CHALLENGE GR.B at TRIAL MOUNTAIN
I did my fastest today in the Peugeot 206 T16 with a Death Star turbo; running a flat out, 1-stop strategy in Fuel Map 1 on Racing Medium tires and pitting in half way through the race. The race was over by lap 2.

R5 - 205 T16 - 1Stop - Results.jpg

Also, I wanted to see how others were doing no-stop runs, so I re-ran the race in Fuel Map 6 with heavy short shifting on Racing Hards and ultra conservative driving – no pushing, no sliding. The result surprised me: it was slightly faster than my all-out Racing Medium run!

R5 - 205 T16 - NoStop - Results.jpg

With a bit more skill, I could lap the entire field on either strategy.

Notably, pit stops dumped me and everyone else into the Shadow Realm. I would emerge 30 seconds later with the crew finally able to touch my car. I noticed the AI Audi seemed to have his pit speed limiter stuck on for extra 10 seconds after leaving the pit too. The time penalty for pit stops was so extreme that no-stop runs became worthwhile, despite me running 3-4 seconds slower each lap.

Usually the AI kicks our collective butts in Group B. Not sure what happened here.

Also noteable, I found getting clean race bonuses to be much, MUCH easier in this race.

OTHER VICTORIES
  • RCZ (Death Star Turbo) – 1 stop run – Racing Hards
  • Subaru Imprezza Rally Car (Medium Death Star Turbo) – 1 stop run – Racing Hards
  • Toyota 86 (stock NA power – Wait... It's naturally aspirated!!!??:odd:) - 1 stop run – Racing Hards

R5 - 22B Rally - Action - 1.jpg

SPECIAL EVENT – PEUGEOT 205 ONE-MAKE at ALSACE
Yay! We get to put the little magic hot hatch through its paces. I brought my machine right from the used car lot to the track and took 1st place with a Clean Race Bonus.

SE - 205 - Stock Run - Action - 1.jpg

ROUND 2
I came back with full mods. I just wanted to see if I could run a sub 2 minute lap… Yay!

If you want to see the tune (and be horrified...), just ask.
SE - 205 - Full Power - Results.jpg

RACE 3 – RACE OF TURBO SPORTS CARS at INTERLAGOS
Fun, fun fun!!! I tried the new engine swapped 22B. Only 650ish hp in my test build, but 800lb-ft / 1084nm of torque, very light, and a ways below 700pp. It felt slow because of the understeer, but the lap times don’t lie:

R3 - 22B - Results.jpg

The swapped 22B punched way, way above its PP rating and left my 700pp swapped Mazda Atenza and RUF RGT in the dust. No matter, I enjoyed them all. My Huayra also joined the party. It kept asking me why the PP system was being mean to it. All I could do was give it encouraging head-pats.

R3 - Huayra - Action - 1.jpg

ROUND 2
Shakedown run in the Mazda Demio. Another first place finish. A lot of potential with this one too. It handles 500hp through the front wheels better than some cars do through their rear wheels :D

R3 - Demio Swap - Action - 1.jpg

R3 - Demio Swap - Results.jpg

Oh, and lastly, the other rally swapped Imprezza is just casually faster than even the 22B

RACE 2 – AMERICAN SUNDAY CUP 600 at GRAND VALLEY REVERSE
My 550pp Tsukuba grip builds wanted to play :D

- Ford GT ‘06 on Sports Mediums
R2 - GT06 - Action - 1.jpg

- Delorean on Sports Softs (regular engine!!! + turbo)
R2 - Delorean - Action - 2.jpg

- Superbird on Sports Softs (yay!!! physics updates mostly fixed the death-steer during high speed cornering behavior)
R2 - Superbird - Action - 1.jpg

FINAL BOSS - Plymouth XNR - Racing Hards 580pp Historic Masters Build – High speed corners were no longer instant oversteer death, BUT, the constant rumble in the controller made it feel as if maybe the rear tires were scrubbing the wheel arches the whole race... Despite the truck ride height and basically not having wheel arches...
R2 - XNR - Action - 1.jpg

R2 - XNR - Results.jpg

I don’t mind Grand Valley, and I find this layout more intuitive, oddly. I think I enjoy this layout because all the annoying corners from the regular layout become opening radius corners here. The big, slow, off-camber hairpin in the middle of the circuit is kinda dumb though.

Rubilar in the classic Dodge Challenger always drives like a hero and places high despite the Comfort Soft tires and the 4-speed gearbox handicap.
R2 - XNR - Action - 2.jpg

How many 550pp Tsukuba Grip builds do I have exactly? YES.

RACE 1 – SUNDAY CUP at RED BULL RING SHORT TRACK
R1 - Hyper MOG - Action - 2.jpg

I had no idea this track existed before the new event appeared  Of course I went in with the Unimog boasting several Unimog’s worth of upgrades. First place came easily.

I also came in with a fully modded Fiat 500 F (480-500pp on Racing Softs:lol:)
R1 - 500F - Action - 1.jpg

And the Fiat 500 Lounge: The other slow Not-Abarth one. This race showed me that I needed to re-tune and relearn how to drive my Fiat 500 F so it can fight off the overpowered M3 in the other new Sunday Cup race at Grand Valley.

R1 - Lounge - Action - 1.jpg

The lesson here?

Never. Ever. Underestimate how much credits and tuning time I am willing to spend to make the slowest cars... less slow

@rheinaoi your posts are such good reading! Please don't stop them!

Did you make any adjustments in the Peugeot Gr.B? I was always interested in this car and I guess this could be an op tarmac race machine but the rally configuration of it never let me enjoy the car. If you did, could you share it?

And also.... Now I feel like beefing up a Fiat 500. 😅 I love the Abarth 595 and the modern 500 (Mrs. used to drive one).

Thanks in advance.

Awwww, thanks!

I tuned the Peugeot 205 T16, but I'm not sure how much difference my tuning made. The Group B cars all want to rotate a lot under trail braking and when the throttle is released. The short wheelbase, narrow-ish width and high height also make this car a handful.

I had to drive the 205 with the throttle pedal - always having some throttle during turns, releasing throttle to get more rotation, applying more throttle to straighten up the car / stabilize for corner exit.

I added in understeer for safety, but I didn't want to sacrifice too much rotation. I will try some ballast in the front and see how the 205 handles Interlagos later.

Testing this setup, I found an extra ~10 seconds, but so did the AI. The leaders really did not want to be lapped

As for the fully tuned Fiat 500 F:

The 500 F is much more resistant to rollovers than the Abarth 595, but the updates introduced more understeer on full throttle (because it lifts up the front wheels a lot more now )

Much love for Fiat 500s here, I smile whenever I see them, even the ones that have been repurposed to sell gelato...

Fuji? Death Chicken? Roulette tickets? Ugh.

The Z4 race looks like it could be fun, though. I might give that a go.

Otherwise, I'm not sure how much of this I'll do this week. I've got enough to keep me busy with the World Series. I already own all the cars and have plenty of credits, so I'm not feeling much incentive to spend my time on this.

Not the most interesting week but a couple of fun 10 lap races to finish. Blue Moon Bay is pretty easy, just have to have decent straight line speed, occasionally one of the AI will be stupidly fast. Japanese 4WD Challenge is a very easy race, you can be a long way under the PP limit and still win even though it's really short. Z4 race was fun, would've preferred it to be at night but I like that layout, gave it a try in a slightly upgraded car on CS and it was quite enjoyable. Neo Classic can be all sorts of things at Fuji, if it rains you can probably win in tuned road cars but if it doesn't it can be tricky. For me it didn't rain but the AI decided to pit an extra time on lap 9 which gave me a 20 second lead, I likely would've caught the 787B though as I was only 3 seconds behind going onto lap 10. The McLaren is quick enough, can run 33's on RM and you just pit half way. Dragon Trail is always fun as I really enjoy the track in either direction, usually quite an easy race because of how scared the AI is by the chicane so there's a lot of tuned road cars you can use here. I ran my engine swapped Toyota Crown and had a pretty easy win even though the tyre wear on RH was substantial, it's always fun to race into the sunset.

I did a few last runs at Interlagos before the new races because I adore the Turbo Races.

800PP final race this week? It's time for mega [and swapped] road cars to come out :mischievous:
Gran Turismo® 7_20250306204142.jpg

Yes, yes, I'll use a Gr.3 car other than a Ford GT later.

@Fuzzi0n How is the handling on the swapped Toyota Crown? I remember it struggling with rear traction accelerating out slow corners, and just overall being twitchy.

@skydragon49 Here goes the Peugeot 205 T16 tune with some ballast in the nose. You can drive much more aggressively with this. I softened the suspension a bit to make it more playful / easier to rotate. Play with Final Drive if you need more top speed.

It won't set the world on fire at 700pp, but I had fun with it. It almost keeps up with the swapped Imprezas... almost

Used to be bad, since the last update it's pretty good if you're progressive on the throttle, can be twitchy still on 3-4th gear stuff if you have the rear downforce too low.

Does anyone know why PD never allowed players to sell car parts? I find it baffling that you win a car part which has a "RRP" of 200,000 credits but can't be actually SOLD for credits.
This week's challenges are pretty mediocre. Samey stuff again and again.
Certainly no good if you want decent payouts 🙄

Took my 800pp R92CP for the Fuji Neo Classic, remembered there might be rain so I bought intermediate tires. Took the lead of the race and it started raining hard after 6 laps, so I pitted to change for intermediates, only to realize I couldn't use them. Yes the PP rating would be higher with intermediates than slick hard tires... Lost 10 minutes of my life.

Normally you have a warning about that when entering the race, something telling you which tyres will be available during race, taking into account PP limitations.

The game tells you before the start of the race what tires you can use in that race with your actual PP...so you "lost" those 10 minutes simply for one reason: YOU did not pay attention!

I only did the first three races this week

1. I began the week with the C7 GT3 Road Car, it handles nice, but it does understeer.
2. I did Japanese 4WD Challenge 600 with the Honda NSX, it handles quite nice, but it had the opposite problem to the C7, which is on the corner before the downhill section, it's easy to spin the car, as I found out.
3. Finally, I did the BMW Z3 3.0i, as it's the only car you can pick. I would have loved if you could take in other BMW Z models. I finished third, as 1st and 2nd were modified and a bit quicker than I was.

Really boring set of races this week, I have to say. Easy peasy, but yeah, incredibly uneventful. But the prizes were interesting at least.

Blue Moon Bay Speedway_.jpeg

First race was done with a stock Corvette C4 ZR1 I bought just for this race. I liked the car, should drive it more in much more interesting races.

Kyoto Driving Park - Yamagiwa_.jpeg

Second race done with a stock Nismo 400R. Also only made interesting by the great driving car.

Tokyo Expressway - South Clockwise_.jpeg

Special event was done with a stock Z4 in a boring silver colour, like one you might see on Craigslist. It's actually fun to throw around on this circuit.

Fuji International Speedway__2.jpeg

Always love to drive a Toyota at their home track. The rain at least made it interesting. A strategic early pit for intermediate tires made all the difference.

Curva Parabolica_.jpeg

Sadly I forgot to take a photo after the race. So I went to one of the new scapes with the car I used for it. The Renault RS.01 isn't mentioned enough, its a pretty decent car. I much prefer it over some of the other Gr.3 cars like the McLaren and BMW M6.

The ticket prices were quite disappointing. My daily ticket gave me the Mclaren 650S GT3, which I literally just won from a different daily ticket a few days ago. Come on. The actual 6 star tickers gave me the stage 5 weight reduction for the Bugatti Chiron and a Porsche 918 which I also already own. Good to have a stock one, I suppose. I was hoping for something I don't already own. Ah well.
