Ready for the challenges.

Pretty good week with some fun tracks. First two are simple, can be under the suggested PP and still win easily, Brands is at a nice time of day and as much as I don't like this Grand Valley it did look good overcast and a little foggy. Vantage race is easy in an unmodified car given how bad the AI is around Deep Forest, they just love to brake on corners that are easily flat out. Hypercar Parade I ended up demolishing with the Porsche Mission X on SS, was way too fast for the AI but I had a lot of fun driving it around there. Final race at Monza is a good one because you can use a lot of road cars if they have good straight line speed. I went with my swapped MR2 and didn't have much trouble, the Viper is quick but pits an extra time so as long as you run map 3-6 you just 1 stop it and have enough pace to cover all the others too. Felt the AI was dumb at times, I had the Lexus just jump a chicane and spin which caused a 5 car pileup behind me. Overall I think the races were quite easy but there's some good combinations and a lot of cars you can use.

Cars for the week:

This week, I'm on it...

All on hard difficulty.

Brands Hatch - Toyota 2000GT '67 - Didn't touch the car. It was already over the suggested PP without any changes. The race was surprisingly challenging. Only caught the lead car on the final lap for the win. First ticket obtained.

Grand Valley - Toyota Sprinter Trueno 1600GT APEX (S.Shigeno Version) - Another challenging race. I upgraded to SS tires but otherwise left the car stock. Caught the lead car on the final corner but didn't have the top speed to get by. P2 and second box checked.

Deep Forest - Aston Martin Vantage '18 - Upgraded to SS tires. No other changes. Easy win. Second ticket obtained.

Trial Mountain - Italdesign VGT Street Mode - I've driven all the cars that are categorized in the game as #HyperCar, so I decided to go for something a little different. This Italdesign thing had a similar PP to the hyper cars, so I threw on some RS tires and went for it. It was way too much. Easy win. Fourth box checked.

Monza - Toyota FT-1 VGT (Gr.3) - No changes to the car. I started on RM tires because I wasn't sure how long they'd last. Had to fuel save a bit to make it to 5 laps. Changed to RS tires for the second stint. Could only a muster a P7, 25 seconds behind the lead. I did make some mistakes, but nothing that would have cost me that much time. I guess this just isn't the car for this race. Doubt I'll try again, though. Don't need the credits, and I already got what I wanted out of the race, which is to drive a car I hadn't yet.

Today at weeklies i did the " unthinkable" ( for me ).
I took every CRB first try ever !!?
Always at normal level but i couldn't even think of it , so i deserve some glitter

So after that i try to entertain my seff and push back the AI at Monza to the eternity 🤣
Use NSX 08 non stop and cut everything that can be cut 😱😱😱

Sunday Cup: Ford Escort RS Cosworth. Hadn't driven it in abit and forgot how fun it was. Easy peasy.
Japanese Clubman Cup 550: Toyota GR Supra. Another easy one, though not without alittle bit of danger.
Hypercar Parade: Ferrari FXX-K. You know the drill by now.
World Touring Car 800: Mercedes AMG GT3 '20. Decided to make abit of a challenge and it certainly was with how the AI were too brake happy or too eager to run each other off in some corners.
Aston Martin Vantage One-Make: An already good car made even better as a GT4 build. Was on the Hardest Difficulty and I still smashed the field.

Won all on hard difficulty:

Japanese Clubman Cup: Honda S660 '15 -397pp-CS
Sunday Cup: Mazda CX-30 X Smart Edition '21 -550pp-SH
Special Event: Aston Martin Vantage '18 -600pp-SM
Hypercar Parade: Aston Martin Valkyrie '21 -900pp-RS
WTC 800: Honda NSX GT500 '08 -800pp-RH-No stop

The tune I used on the Vantage was 150hp below the stock car. The AI killed me in the tunnel but I took a close win by passing the lead car at the turn before the tunnel on the last lap. I then had to do some blocking until the end of the tunnel.

The AI is so slow in the Hypercar races. The race was over in 1.5 laps. So I took a 700pp BMW M2 Competition '18 with the engine swap and lost by .900 second. My poor vision caused me to scrape the walls a couple of times and cost me the victory.

All cars had tunes by @praiano63.

Cars I drove tonight:

Sunday Cup at Brands Hatch: Corolla Levin '83. Fully stock, comfort medium tyres. Understeer city, futuristic (ish) cockpit. At least for the 80's...

Japanese Clubman 550 at Grand Valley: Civic Type R '22. Fully stock with a special livery gifted from the time trial at Spa with the classic F1 Honda. I should be driving this car more. It is a great ride.

Hyper Car Parade at Trial Mountain: Ford Mustang Boss 429 '69. Engine Swapped. Racing hard tyres. Because beating european hyper cars in an American Muscle icon is super fun.

All races driven on easy (no shame, I want to have a nice and relaxing time driving my fav cars. I have my challenge quota filled with the online time trials). All races with CRB.

I don't wanna do the Aston Martin because I just didn't like the new Vantage and I don't care much about the WTC 800 races anymore. Specially at Monza.

I might repeat the Hyper Car event though.

Ho-hum kind of week. The only exciting race I had was Grand Valley.
WTC800 in my Lexus. Easy win with a splash and dash after lap 8.

Hyper Cars? Well it was my go-to FXXK seen here getting a rise on the competition. Easy one again.
Trial Mountain Circuit_ (8) by 2cam16, on Flickr
AM race was over by lap 2.

Brands I had won last week in this so it was repeated with the Renault. Easy again.

GV was fun. 549pp in the Mazda. Just didn't have it on the straight v. Yamanaka in his Supra. Took second over Kokobun on the last lap and lost by 1.5 ticks. All good.

My original idea was to take a machine gun to a knife fight in the WTC800, just steamroll everyone and get it done. Not that easy it seems... the first plan, follow them in the corners and pass on the straights. Should be an easy CRB win.

That clearly doesn't work, so stay well away in the corners, and still pass on the straights.

I swear they turn some random clown factor higher in every update.

Well, this was a pretty fun week, again.

1. To begin the week, I used my Suzuki Cappuccino Faux-LM (Seen behind the White Honda S660), it's been upgraded to approx. 400PP (I think). It's small size and decent power made it a very fun and stable car.
2. Next, I used the aforementioned Honda S660. I upgraded it until it resembled what I call the S660 Type R. It's got the engine from the Project 2&4, with no other upgrades to the engine. Even without it, this thing is absolutely ludicrous.
3. After that, I used the Aston Martin Vantage, again, it's a pretty drifty car, but not so drifty that it's uncontrollable
4. For Hypercar parade, I decided to use a CTR3. It's a car I rarely drive, and I discovered why, this thing understeers bad, but not so bad that I couldn't manage a win.
5. Finally, I used the downtuned 787B for WTC800. I was initially worried, Monza is not one of my strongsuits. It was for nothing however, as my car was routinely quicker (I believe my fastest lap was a 1:51) I probably could have done this with no pitting at all, but I chose to, just in case.

Finally, using the money from the challenges, I brought the Escudo Pikes Peak. It wiped out a sizable portion of my money in game going from just over 2 million to 500k, but this should recover fairly quickly, plus you don't seem to have many chances to get the car.

Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed this, the AI in this race was bad even by normal GT7 standards.
