RACE 5 – WTC700 at BATHTUB BATHURST
The Ford GT Green Bandits heard that @smoothbore12 was getting bullied here. For that, there will be... consequences

Ford GT40 MKIV – The slowest; The meanest

View attachment 1443503

Big engined, awkward, thirsty and prone to the nastiest wobble when it tried to attack the curbs. But it was undeterred. It’ll be back wiser and faster.

Ford GT40 MKI – Never, EVER, underestimate the short elder

View attachment 1443511

A relic with a grizzled, chipped hammer of an engine note and the oddest understeery walk. What can that one possibly hope to accomplish?

The old GT40 just walked past the the competition with the highest top speed and fastest lap times.

Ford GT ‘06 – The Loud, the Wild, the Brutally Competent

View attachment 1443513

Everyone expected this one to be tough. It was tougher. Powerful, quick and steady. Untouchable in its ability, and promising even more for next time...

Ford GT '17 – Time, though it approaches gradually, comes for everyone

View attachment 1443515

At first, everyone thought the Ford GT '17 held itself back out a mocking sense of (700pp) fair play, but it was merely observing. And despite its smaller heart, this Ford had the biggest thirst.

It cornered with so much controlled brute force, that the display everyone saw looked more like grace.

RACE 4 – PORSCHE CUP at KYOTO YAMAGIWA
The opponents sat electrified at what I brought…

View attachment 1443479

The 650pp restriction will forever be odd. Thankfully, this was an older race, so we need not worry about the magic 992 GT3 that ascends past the aliens and nudges the Yellow 997 to go even faster. Though significantly less magical [and even less so here], the yellow 997 GT3 will always be magical enough to surprise the unaware and the bold.

I brought a Taycan on Racing Soft tires that had braved the AI Den of Porsche Wolves back at Lake Magiorre. We were ready for this.

The Taycan hummed and whooshed its way to an easy victory. With much more grip than power, the Taycan felt so utterly neutral, that driving it was a Zen, mind-emptying, experience. I still love it, but I understand why others would not.

SPECIAL EVENT – HONDA CIVICS at TOKYO CENTRAL COUNTERCLOCKWISE
Addicted to Time Trial runs in a 550pp EK

I dug a preliminary 550pp Sport Soft Tsukuba grip build out of my garage and thought to just run this event several times to lock in the tune...

The competition seemed to have more power / less weight and better brakes, but I carried sooooooooooooo much more speed through the corners that I hit higher top speeds than them.

550pp proved too spicy for this group, even when the leaders decide to finish 10 seconds faster at random.

The handling of the Civics, pinning that 4 cylinder to redline all through the night, the music, the lights and the flowing high speed corners were quintessential Gran Turismo. It brought me back to when I ran “Vroom” in the Music Rally for the first time. I heard echoes of my past self: “This is IT! This is Gran Turismo!!

...Vroom, vroom, indeed.

RACE 2 – SUNDAY CUP CLASSIC at LAGUNA SECA
I ran out of ideas so I picked the first [550pp, French] thing that came to mind

Uneventful, but WOW the Peugeot 208 GTi sounded and felt amazing.

RACE 1 – EURO CLUBMAN CUP “600” at DEEP FOREST REVERSE
Do not ask me if the "600pp" Giulia annoys me. Ask, how much it annoys me.

This much?

Dramatic re-enactment of the spool-up sequence of the turbo that I bolted onto the Valkyrie:

Perhaps the results would have been different if the Giulia had simply used a more optimized 600pp tune

... I've read someone was using the old 550 Spider and I'll possibly try this some time soon. Sounds like fun to me. ...
I did ... and it was !

Bought the "little bastard" yesterday at the LCD, tuned it to the max ( around 650 PP ) and went racing. And it's been worth every cent for the fun I had. I don't think it's a car for everyone but if you like to be challenged, if you do not just want an easy drive but something different, here you go. @symustafa1996 mentioned it earlier > There's zero downforce so it always feels like it's at the limit, like it can break away at any time and spin. < In addition the car reacts very sensitive to the slightest disturbance on track for being that lightweight, for the tiny wheels etc. and yet being quite fast. If you have the feel you're stable and safe think twice because it's walking on thin ice, always. She wants to be treated gently and considerate all the time. I love it !

Btw if you're able to reach the finish line without accident she's almost a safe win at the current Porsche Cup Weekly Challenge. ;)

As per usual, here's my weekly challenge vehicle choices (and once again done on hard AI with PSVR2) and this time it wasn't as infuriating as last week (which I didn't post for that reason) this week was actually fun for once

  1. Euro 600 in a highly tuned Mercedes A45 AMG on sport medium tyres - I love this car, easily one of my favourite AMGs since the SLS AMG, a joy to drive even at this performance level too, it just does what you want - and quickly too, managed to get tfirst and stay there by lap 4.

  2. Sunday Cup classic in a highly modified low-RPM turbo Unimog 350pp build on comfort soft tyres - this car is a joy to drive if unwieldy to its towering seating position, but at least it doesn't make me feel sick like the Urus. Got first place by after the corkscrew on lap 2.

  3. Civic one make with a 600pp sport hard build of the FK2 model civic - I do like this model year of the civic, but does it struggle at this amount of power on sport hards, my god! Colossal understeery issues galore, but still more than fast enough, got first by halfway in the race. Maybe next time I should run a 550pp build for this one make ifit shows up again...

  4. Porsche cup using a fully modified Porsche 550 Spyder on sports soft tyres - in my increasingly difficult task to do Porsche events with as many non-911 cars as possible now it is the turn of the 550 which I already liked stock, but at full time it is a wild animal, got first by lap 4. Oh god I'm going to have to try and win this wth the 356 next....

  5. WTC700 using a race prepped and moderately modified stock turbo KTM X-BOW R - well since we don't have the GT4 this is the next best thing, and it's open cockpit is more preferred for how I like to drive cars in VR so I'm not complaining, relatively fuss free drive, though the first lap or so had to be driven as economically as possible, running fuel map 6 the whole way through, did get first by about lap 5 though andnmanaged to hold it there for the rest of the run, completing 5 wins in a row this week!
Fun week all things considered, which means next week it's going to be hell most likely

Gallo runs is at another level at Deep forest.
No way to win it at 600pp car at least clean.
Not so sure... admittedly not clean but only three small taps, all of which could have been avoided by taking a different line to not rear end the AI who decided to brake mid corner. The car could also definitely be better optimized for this track but I used what I had lying around. Not my actual weekly run though, that one was done with an R8 V10 but this was an extra attempt to see if it's possible and it certainly is, even on hard difficulty. Two pictures needed to show the PP and the fastest lap.
